We normally go to this site at least once a year for a week and stay in the Laburnum Grove. The site is usually very family friendly, tidy and well kept. This stay wasn't quite as planned. On several occasions there was excessive noise very late at night (after midnight). We found the new toilet block (installed last year) is already starting to fall apart, this was reported so may be fixed if your visiting (watch the floors). But by far the worse thing we found was the 'safety feature' they installed whilst we were camping. This was to enable the toilet and shower doors to be opened from the outside (and with your fingers no tools required - shown to me by my 8 year old) ! I raised this as a serious safety issue highlighting the obvious risks this could cause. We also reported the condition of the Laburnum Grove toilet block and the toilets by the pool, both were filthy and its seems to me there are far to few toilets and showers for the capacity of the fields. This meant waiting on several occasions.

Just returned from Two Chimneys. Had a fantastic time even though the weather was rubbish for the first part of the week - we even stayed an extra night to make the most of the sunshine!
From arrival to departure the staff were really helpful. The site is in pristine condition with no litter whatsoever. There was always someone running around in the golf cart picking up things or making upgrades to the site.
Our pitch was huge! we could have parked our car on either side and had the awning up and still had enough room to play a full size game of football (ok - slight exaggeration!). The water and toilets/chemical loo point were all close by. We booked hook up which meant we were able to run a little heater to dry towels/swim stuff. The girls also didn't miss out on BGT!
The pool is brilliant even though it is not very big - on the occasions we used the pool (every day - sometimes twice a day). The pool wasn't busy at all - even when the sun finally showed up. The water wasn't cold and the retractable roof meant it stayed warm on the poolside as well. The baby pool was brilliant as it allowed smaller kids to play in the water and be safe.
The three play areas were also fantastic. We didn't see our kids for hours on end and there was enough to amuse even the smallest tots. Our 2 older daughters soon made friends and were constantly back and forth between the 2 play areas on the larger camping area.
We used the bar most evening and were treated like royalty. The arcade gave the kids another distraction whilst we got the baby off to sleep and relaxed.
I will be honest and say you don't get many sites during the school holidays for a family of 5 for less than £30/night with hook up and this is by far the best site we've been on for along time. We have paid £35-40 per night on sites before and got a lot less in terms of activities and facilities. If the did a weekend deal (late Friday evening arrival to Sunday afternoon we would be there most weekends!
I feel very guilty putting down the few minor issues as they are really finickity - but with this site, there isn't much to moan about. However, there was occasional traffic noise (we were right next to the road - with a fence and trees between us and the road). I am not sure if it was bad timing on our part and the additional bad weather but the camping area grass in some of the sections was quite long - again a minor issue. Also the showers ran cold if you didn't time your trip well enough - but this is quite common on very popular, family friendly sites which this most certainly is!
All in all a fantastic site with everything needed for families and couples, young and old. It would be an ideal site to go to for the first time as it really does have everything needed and if you forget anything you are spoilt for choice with shops in Margate, Westgate and Birchington. Personally, we will certainly be back again - hopefully sooner rather than later.

We have just returned from a fantastic week at the Two Chimneys site. The toilets were spotlessly clean, being attended to constantly.
The site is level with great easy access. There are water point where you need them, the playparks are very well kept and in safe locations
The weather wasn't great and the wind very cold but the swimming pool still very warm. The best features of the site were the people we met working there. The lady behind the bar went out of her way to spoil our 2 little children, they have the easter bonnets given to them hanging up in their bedrooms.
The bar is great and not commercialized, and the restaurant offered great value for money.
Margate receives some mixed reviews but please visit Club World kid playcentre where some great people are making a difference.
We will definitely be back and have already recommended the site to friends

We arrived on a Friday afternoon for a 3 night stay, after setting up we had a meal in the on-site diner, which was good value for money.
On Saturday we visited the Hornby Visitor Centre, the Spitfire and Hurricane Memorial Museum and the Manston Museum which were only a 10 minute drive away from the campsite. All are worth a visit.
The weather was excellent which was a bonus.
The site toilets/showers were on the whole clean but there were certain areas overlooked i. E. Cotton wool and empty shampoo bottles left on the shelves for the duration of our stay.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
There were 3 playgrounds which were well maintained and a large area for ball games.
This was our 1st time camping and overall it was a good experience.

This site was brilliant, very polite friendly staff throughout. The site has an indoor/outdoor swimming pool, an adequately sized clubhouse with well priced drinks & is very large with 5 or 6 separate camping & caravanning areas.
The facilities were clean & well managed & the site is well positioned for an extensive range of beaches & seaside activities.
The negatives for us were that the fully serviced pitches were on top of the main road through the camp site which was a nightmare as our small children kept wandering onto the busy site road. You are better off with a standard grass pitch. Also the swimming pool has no lifeguard so children were unsupervised leading to bombing & diving etc around small children without being told not to.
As it was the school holidays there was entertainment in the afternoons & every evening at the club house, there was also an outdoor table tennis table & at least 3 or 4 children's play grounds throughout the park.
We will definitely return next year.

This was our first visit to this site
We were really impressed
Nice and clean and modern.
The shop was ok.
Toilets and showers are better than most parks and spotlessly clean.
The bar was nice but as it was warm weather we sat outside and had a drink on our pitch, the new diner was nice and the food was too.
Wifi is a bit on the costly side.
Didn't use the pool.
Local area was pleasant to walk.

Spent last weekend at this site with my partner and toddler. Booked last minute and got a good pitch. Tent pitches in large rows in furthest part of the site to reception, the site is not huge so we didn't have far to walk to toilets etc.
Allocated pitches and plenty of space per pitch. Longer grass in tent area giving it a rural feel which we liked, surrounded on two sides by trees although we could here cars from the road on other side of trees and see the headlights.
The site had a good, lively atmosphere, much noisier than anywhere we have stayed before, it wouldn't be good if you are after peace and quiet!
Family friendly with two well equipped playgrounds in good condition plus a large football/playing field opposite the main tent area. Pools were crowded but clean. Shop well stocked. I found the staff friendly. Was disappointed that the inflatables weren't there as advertised on their website, apparently due to the amount of rain this year.
Toilets were ok, although the sinks were annoying - sensor taps with a mind of their own, coming on when theyw anted to, not when required! Also, no cold water in sinks so teeth had to be cleaned in hot water then used showers and they weren't warm enough.
Showers were small with nowhere to put your bag/get dry inside the cubicle so me and my daughter were forced to leave our stuff on bench outside in toilet area and then get dry and dressed there after - no privacy - not ideal at all. It's a short drive to the seafront, with many bays to choose from with free parking at the nearest.
I liked the breakfast truck that appeared by our tent doing a drive round on Saturday morning, selling croissants, fruit etc. Overall we liked this site and would visit again.

Returned today from a two night stay at Two Chimneys. I must say I was not impressed.
Let's begin with the good points:
There were three play areas that my children loved! They also enjoyed the large football field.
The not so good
I didn't find any of the staff very welcoming.
The showers were filthy and could only offer very cold water. Not too bad for a scorching weekend but not so good trying to clean a four year old under it. There was nowhere to put our clothes or towel so it had to remain outside the shower on the already soaked through bench, amongst all the hairs left by other users.
The water to brush teeth was warm, the areas around the basins very wet again, and dirty.
The drinking water stations were overflowing and not draining properly.
The swimming pool was the murkiest I have ever seen. In fact, I got in with my children and stayed in for all of five minutes as I was worried about them swallowing the water and being ill. The changing rooms were nowhere near big enough for the amount of people using the pool, in fact there was just space for my daughter and I. My husband had to step over a pile of child's vomit to get into the male changing room.
The pitches are far too close together compared to other sites I have visited. Perhaps I have just been spoilt in the past.
The washing up facilities are diabolical. They are in desperate need of modernisation and nobody seemed to follow the camping etiquette of leaving things how you would expect to find them! I nearly drove my pots and pans home to wash them up!
When my husband was using the toilets, he said the only thing the cleaner did was spray disinfectant on a bit of the urinal and then walked out again. That explains why it is so dirty.
As we went camping with friends, and this was their first ever experience, I felt compelled to tell them it's not normally like this, I think we just chose a bad site.
We did use the new Diner, the food was good but a serious lack of tables and the ones they did have had other people's food left on them for a long time until we eventually cleared them.
We had a quick drink in the clubhouse as my daughter, being a four year old disco diva, was keen to go to the disco. The prices for drinks were what I would expect to pay.
The amusements were a let down too. My children took their loose change but the only machines suitable for their age were not working.
I think this site has potential to be good but it is in desperate need of modernisation, needs a very good clean, staff who appear even remotely interested in their customers and a little more space between pitches, rather than cramming everyone in and earning as much mone as they can. I know they are in business but it was an expensive pitch so they can afford more cleaners, surely?
The day I arrived and tried to pitch my tent, it was so blustery that I nearly took off with it, like a massive kite! Obviously the weather isn't due to the park but just be warned it can suddenly increase in wind, lol!
We didn't explore the local area as we are only 40 minutes away but the area is nice with some of the best beaches in the South East, in my opinion.
Would I go back? No. This is the fourth site I have now visited since taking up camping in June and, I know everybody is different, but for us it is the smaller and more intimate sites we prefer where the staff can't do enough to help and they go out of their way to please you!

Was told this was a very good site. Not impressed with the shower block for a 5 star site. Pool and club too small for the size of the site and it looks like it will be increasing in size. Field we were on was very cramped.
If we went back again we would select the area with larger space around the caravan. The field behind the reception area would be a lot better.
Grandson loved it not ideal for couples on their own

This was our first visit to this site and we were really impressed with how nice and clean and modern the place was. The only let down for us was the weather (but we can't blame them for that).
The shop was ok, toilets and showers were a lot better than most parks and spotlessy clean,
the bar was nice but a bit boring and don't expect a very warm welcome, if it was warm weather we would have sat outside and had a drink on our pitch, the new diner was nice good food and good prices,
also I would agree with previous comments about the expensive wifi but we didn't need it as we could get a decent signal on the mobile,
I nearly forgot the pool was fantastic especially being enclosed and warm, the kids loved it.
There seems to be a lot of new things at this site and lots of expansion so we will be looking forward to going back there to see how the place looks next year hopefully with some sunshine as well.
