I have frequented this camping and caravan park from 1989 - 2006 under three changes of ownership/management. The toilet block incorporating a laundry room and family room is the hub of the park for most visitors and the multi award winning loo of the year certificates are well deserved.
If your intention is to camp a gargantuan camping field is capable of housing an unfathomable population of campers. Please note Glastonbury earth can rapidly deteriorate to mud in prolonged periods of rain or, indeed, sharp, showers or heavy/torrential rainfall as evident from TV images of the Glastonbury Festival.
The booking office contains tourist literature of many attractions and events within the locality of the town and outlying districts. Attached to the office is a shop providing basic provisions however it tends to be pricey so walk up the road a short distance and call into the nearby Costcutter and save money.
The current owners I found were helpful and polite contrary to some reports I have read on web forums. Ideal location to cycle ,walk or discover the Somerset Levels,Wells and it's magnificent Cathedral,Cheddar Gorge,The Mendip Hills, Wookey Hole Caves and the glorious countryside as well as the local Glastonbury attractions and shops.
Musts are: Knights Fish and Chip Shop, Glastonbury Experience, The Abbey, Chalice Well Gardens, The Riflemans Arms, Somerset Rural Life Museum,The Tor and within a few miles The Apple Tree- a roadside Inn well worth a visit for traditional fayre and fine ales.

Stayed here when we went to Glastonbury for the carnival, obviously a very profitable time for this site. I know we booked a bit last minute and were "squeezed" in, on the camping field but surprisingly it wasn't a problem we still had a hook up and the toilet/shower facilities were fantastic, even on a soggy weekend in November, The location near the town centre was brilliant and the staff at reception were very helpful when we arrived even though they obviously had a busy evening. Would definitely stay at this site again as it had a brilliant feel to it, though will be booking a pitch for next years' carnival as soon as I find out the date.

AA 4 Pennant/5 Star Tourist Board award and winners of 'Loo of the Year' awards for the past 6 years. Very handy location less than a mile walking distance into Glastonbury with its pubs, restaurants, cafes and award winning fish and chip shop. On arrival (Friday afternoon) we were able to pick our own pitch and although the site filled up very quickly it was never over crowded and we seemed to have plenty of space. The toilet/shower/washing facilities were excellent and cleaned on a very regular basis and the water was always piping hot, whatever time of day. The family room (which I did not see inside) was also a nice touch. Cannot understand the complaints about cost! it was £14 a night but there was no charge for the showers or the freezer facility and you did not need to vacate until 12:00. Small fairly expensive shop selling essentials (cold beer and wine!) and a small cafe with reasonable prices. If you are an old hippie then you will feel right at home here as there were quite a few on the site visiting there last bastion; Glastonbury. It was odd that the only people without a smile were the staff who were strangely aloof but it did not affect the way they went about keeping the place clean and tidy. All in all a strong recommendation although there were a few noises from the farm bordering the field to welcome the day.

Very close to the centre of Glastonbury, good facilities, friendly staff, well stocked shop (although a bit expensive), beautiful lush field with freedom to pitch where you want (get there early in the summer to get a good pitch under a tree)

What a wonderful place! Didn't realise how peaceful & tranquil it was until we camped the next night. Beautiful site with excellent facilities. Will be back here for sure! Only booked it as a rest stop to break up the journey to Cornwall. Also very good value for money. Can't wait to go back

We have our van in storage here, and because the people are so friendly and the service so great and the site so clean we stay here quite often as well when we don't want to tow. Shop is well stocked, showers & toilets are spotless plenty of space between pitches and very friendly people, who could ask for more!

This is an ok site, if not a bit expensive. Pitches are big enough and we had the luxury of picking our own as it wasnt busy. We ended up in amongst seasonal caravans which is a pet hate of mine. Facilities are clean and spacious but could do with a bit of extra heating - the floor in the shower first thing in the morning was FREEZING. The staff were very friendly and its pretty handy for walking into Glastonbury. I would go again but it is a little expensive for what it is.

I have been to this campsite many times over the last few years and I have always found the staff to be friendly and welcoming - campers can be just as taciturn as anyone else, in fact more so at times!
This is an exceptionally popular site and during the Summer months it does get busy but I have never found this to be a problem. The facilities are EXCELLENT and the setting idyllic - this is as good as it can get if you really do enjoy camping, and genuinely want to relax.
I 've never found it expensive and I've always found what I wanted in the shop. I've done a lot of camping throughout the UK & this is the site & the place I come back to time and again.

Great friendly site. Flat pitches for caravans and a large flat camping field. Very clean showers, toilets and washing cubicles. Good sized clean area for washing up and laundry facilities. shop on site that sells essentials and hot drinks, in high season Pam's takeaway is open. A short walk from the shops,Chalice well, Abbey and Tor. Such a good site we keep coming back.

August 2004 The third year we have been and we will be back this August. The staff are polite if slightly too obviously bored, but the people make this place great. We see the same visitors year after year. Life for children revolves round the truly magnificent climbing tree and everyone takes on the relaxing Glastonbury feel. Facilities are excellent :it's not cheap but worth every penny.
