I felt I had to comment after the 2 negative reviews about this site. We have been going to the Isle of Avalon site now for over a year, usually twice a month.
This is the most friendly site we have stayed at and the owners are lovely and always helpful.
The facilities are excellent, the toilet block is always clean and the showers are excellent, the site is clean and the grass cut regularly.
The shop on site is always well stocked with everything you need. This site is perfect for Glastonbury town which is about 10mins walk away, and there are lots of places to walk the dogs.

We stayed at this site for two nights, that was long enough, the toilets/showers were dirty and untidy for the duration of our stay and if they were cleaned we could not tell the difference.
The electric tripped off on both mornings (with only a 750w kettle on) and the number of very dirty uncared for seasonal vans that littered the site was quite off putting. The grass was tidy, but had been allowed to grow over the hardstanding which gave the site an uncared for look.
The price per night that we paid was at the top end considering the state of the site.
On the plus side is the easy walk into the town.
We would not rush back to this site.

I was most sad and disappointed to see the previous negative reviews for this site.
We spent two nights there at the end of May (which was, in fact, our 2nd visit) and the first thing that impressed us was that the toilet, washing and shower facilities were all spotlessly clean, bright and airy. This is something I'm very fussy about, and everything was perfect. In fact, the lady doing the cleaning told me the blocks were to be imminently redecorated, although given where we'd just spent the previous 5 days and nights, it didn't seem to me as though it needed it!
All the grass surrounding the pitches was neatly cut - to anyone criticising the length of grass previously, don't forget we'd just had about 6 weeks of non-stop rain, which wouldn't have made it very easy to cut grass. There were plenty of electric hook-ups, and we had no problem at all with ours.
We couldn't fault our welcome or the service; the facilities provided everything you could want. It's a very pretty, level site, adorned with trees, and beautiful hanging baskets in summer. Nothing could be more convenient for Glastonbury town centre, and the site is perfectly situated for exploring the area.
Knight's chippy has a well-deserved reputation for some of the best fish and chips we've ever had, and we also enjoyed a tasty takeaway from the Peking Palace too.
The Isle of Avalon is a lovely little site we would be happy to return to again and again.

Just back from a bank holiday weekend at this peaceful site. First the good - the slightly informal 'higeldy pigeldy' layout made for a great relaxed atmosphere, lovely large showers with plenty of room and lots of hot water, site shop, and a burger van which we didn't use. Only a ten minute walk into Glastonbury (go straight over the roundabout at the main road, don't follow the road signs to the right!) which is a great little place for a weekend.
However, I have to break my usual rule of 'if you can't say something good don't say anything at all' because the toilets were dirty and blocked most of the time, the owners were very brusque and surly, and some of the permanent vans around us had clearly seen better days, which didn't give us a particularly good view whilst relaxing in our own camper.
A pity, but these downsides will make us think twice about returning to this site.

We just got back from staying on the site, it didn't get off to a good start. The staff were very unhelpful as we had booked four units in and paid the deposits, we still had to pay in full and claim back the deposit the next day.
The site was very untidy and the grass was in need of cutting
The shower block could do with a deep clean,
The outside elec points also are in need of a change, as a lot of covers are missing and this caused one of the points to fail
The good points, it only has one, it near to the town.
We all agreed not to stay there again, the site charges top rate but doesn't give good value or service

We booked this site in July for the Glastonbury Carnival weekend.
Arrival - nice, warm and friendly greeting on checking in and site easy to find - directions were given on their leaflet.
We had booked for 3 nights but they only had us down for 2 nights. However, this was not an issue and was quickly rectified and we were given a hardstanding pitch. We would have been on the field but the electric hook ups (on the field) were only temporary and for 2 nights only for the carnival.
Unfortunately this did mean we were right next to the generator serving the field but this was switched off on the Sunday morning.
The washblock was nice and clean with plenty of hot water. The cubicles were also really big with plenty of room. This is a big plus in our opinion as we can't abide tiny cubicles and clingy curtains!
Another major plus is that it's only approx a 15 min walk into the town centre. It's also only about 7 mins to where the carnival procession starts from - perfect!
All the staff we encountered were friendly and accommodating.
We have even reserved our pitch, paid the deposit and booked for the carnival next year!

We were there in our chittychitty bangbang campervan, the weather was wet but the welcome made up for it, flat site, sensible prices, EHU for all, flat site and decent toilets, just a pity we havent git CCBB now, would store a tourer caravan for on site use when/if funds allow. It is a quiet site (well in October anyway) within easy walking distance of the town, which isnt to be missed!

Loved this site. We originally stayed for 4 nights over Easter, but came back at the end of our trip for another 2 nights. The site is quiet, friendly and very close to Glastonbury.
We stayed on the hardstanding pitch (with electric)with grass to the side for our awning. Plenty of room to sit outside the front of our awning without sitting on top of the neighbours.
The site is covered in trees and well kept grassed and flowered areas. Love the fact its green!
The toilets/showers clean. Great there's a freezer for ice packs. And washing facilities. We will definitely be going back
Glastonbury is a couple of minutes by bike and about 10 mins to walk. Some great things to do. Sit and chill at the top of The Tor. Visit Chalice Well and take a picnic into the Abbey.
Some fab places to eat. Hawthorns for the most amazing curries, Mocha Berry for the best breakfast ever, and 100 Monkeys for excellent coffee!

As stated by the other visitors, lovely camp site. Hard standing pitches, 6amp electric.
Large toilets and showers plus electrical points for hair-dryers etc. Well stocked shop on site and the owners were very friendly and helpful.
Short walk into Glastonbury and a great place to sit and people watch!
Site has a great relaxing feel to it, felt very much at home and we will definitely be visiting again.

Just back from staying here and absolutely loved this site - relaxed and informal, great location and good facilities. Spacious hardstanding pitch with electric hook-up and dog friendly. Lots of clean toilets and showers, great washing up area and freezer for your ice packs, a well stocked shop and just a really nice feel to it.
Glastonbury is an easy 10-15 walk, passing by a field of cows to help you feel like you're in the countryside!
Glastonbury itself is wonderful, great places to eat and drink, lots of alternative shops (we particularly liked the look at my crazy shoes shop and the bluenote vegetarian cafe!) and just a great place to people watch and soak up the atmosphere. Also lovely walk up to the tor.
Overall a great site that's not too commercialised or bland/uniform - only slight criticism would be the lack of recycling facilities which just felt a bit wrong.
