We returned to this site around 12 years after a tent visit as a young couple. Now a family, the site was just as well kept and quiet as we remembered. A friendly welcome on arrival, activity all over, cleaning, pruning and cutting grass for the season. The pitches are well laid out and easily accessible. Nobody was fussy about where you parked your car or put your awning - In other words it is relaxed. Toilet facilities spacious and clean though not much water pressure in the shower. Electric hook up, and plenty of water service points. Electric is easy to trip so don't plug in too many appliances at once.
It's a ten minute walk into Glastonbury, over a main road and with a couple of short stretches without footpaths which keep you on your toes. Really quirky shops and people - A great family Italian called Gigi's and many interesting points of interest including the Tor, Abbey and a fabulous church. A few of the pubs are belters.
In all a really comfortable and relaxing stay. We will come again.

Firstly I have to say the friendliness of both staff and neighbouring caravans and motorhomes was excellent :-)
Showers are huge although a little dated. I believe hot water was plentiful although we didn't use as had our own facilities. There appeared to be some problem with the flushing of toilets as many still had paper left in them.
As an all year round site it would probably benefit having hardstanding for both van and awning. The gravel area was fairly small and very muddy where an awning would be sited.
As per previous comments the chemical loo was not great. The hinged lid would not stay up unless you had a knee against it and still no hose to wash it down.
No designated dog poo waste bins and no recycling. Something that is almost the norm now.
Excellent location to the town.
With a little TLC I think this site could be great :-)

Stayed for one night en route to Devon and liked it so much we came back a week later and stayed for 7 nights.
Site is as flat as a pancake. Nice rural setting just outside the town. A 10 minute walk takes you into town centre.
The touring pitches are hardstands with grass sides so easy to get your awning up. Note - electrics are only 6amps. Grass is neat and tidy and close mown and that includes the huge camping field too.
Great free hot showers with large cubicles, plenty of washing sinks too. The utility sinks also provide lashings of VERY hot water - CHILDREN BEWARE!
Pleasant owners and staff who also run a basic supplies shop on site. A 24hr Tesco is less than mile away.
The only Down we can mention is that the chemical loo emptying point is disgusting and can't have been cleaned in ages, and there is no hose to the separate tap to rinse down afterwards.
For sure we will call in 2016

Just returned from a 7 night stay that turned into a 9 night stay as we enjoyed the place so much. Friendly staff, well kept site with plenty of things to do in the surrounding area and just a short walk from the town centre. We will be making a return visit and we would recommend to friends and family
The shop on site has most things you would need but not much of a walk to the shops. Close by excellent pubs and restaurants which are mostly dog friendly.

Great location with the town centre just 10 mins walk. Only stayed for 1 night and we have our own facilities. Husband did comment the chemical disposal point could do with a clean and there was no hose to rinse it. Other than that great site enjoyed our stay £22 with 2 dogs for the night so good value

We were only staying here overnight to split up our journey home but would highly recommend it. Lovely flat ground. Grass cut. Drinking water on the field so no need for a trip to the utility block. Hot free showers with plenty of room to move around and lots of them too. Also has a family/disabled separate shower room all well kept and spotless. Ideally placed to visit Glastonbury or go shopping at the Clarks village. Owner is very nice and helpful. Highly recommend this site

We spent two nights here (camping) and it really was a fantastic site. The toilet block was the best I’d ever seen - huge shower cubicles, fresh flowers and even a hair dryer. The site was very flat, pretty and well maintained with lots of water points. It was peaceful and quiet. The shop was well stocked. The owner was really friendly and helpful, although the lady at check-in was rather rude. I also felt the pricing was misleading. I was quoted £16 on the phone for two nights, then charged £36 when I arrived! £18 per night was rather steep for a small non-electric pitch. Saying that, I would definitely return. Super site.

I have just returned from a weekend at this site and totally agree with all the good reviews written on here, especially the proximity to the town. However, due to a festival being held in Glastonbury on Saturday evening the site was packed to overflowing and I'm sure it was a fire hazard as units were so close to each other. Also, I think £20 per night is a bit expensive for two people on a non electric pitch.

Me and my 10 year old son spent a weekend here and loved it. We pitched up in the main field without electric. There was plenty of space.
Shower/toilet/washing up block was spacious and well kept/clean. Showers free and hot with plenty of room inside.
Very picturesque on entrance with flowers in full bloom. Easy to find too and well signposted which is always a bonus.
A 10 minute walk into the town, plenty of little shops to get lost in and places to sit and people watch.
We drove out past Cheddar during the weekend to do some cycling on the Strawberry line from Cheddar reservoir to Yatton. Unfortunately my son fell off his bike so our cycling was cut short but will definitely return to do the whole trail. Some of it is on road so more suitable for older kids.
We also visited the Thatchers cider shop in Sandford though there were lots of cider outlets around for topping up supplies.
We never made it up the tor as the Saturday was so hot and the Sunday sky was black clouds - how I love the British weather! However it gives us another excuse to return to this great campsite.
Although there was no playground on site my son was more than happy riding around on his bike with the other children on the site.

Myself, my Husband and our dog were travelling the West Country and thought Glastonbury would be a good place to explore from. We found this site online and are so pleased we did. This site is in a very good location for wandering into town, which is a very interesting place, the shops are as you would imagine, with crystals, dream catchers, beads, spiritual books etc everywhere, it is such an interesting place. If your an old (or young) hippy, you will love this place.
The Camp Site itself has all you should need for a comfortable stay, the laundry room, showers and toilets are very well kept and spacious.
There is an on site shop with basic stuff which is handy.
We drove to Cheddar Gorge, it took 20 minutes to drive there and is well worth a visit, if you have a dog its so dog friendly, with water bowls outside most shops. Our dog came into a cave with us and on a open top tour bus ride.
