Staff vey friendly and then unobtrusive, pitch up whre you fancy shower are portakabin but clean, the ground can be tough on pegs and heavy duty option is best. Walk up the hill various curiosities bronzed lifestyle siz stags, an old red telephone box they have obviously tried to make your meanderings more interesting.
The higher you walk the more stunning the view.
Take a walk to the pub in the hamlet but take a walk when its dark its very dark!
You'll need to stock up before you get there there's a small convenience store but little else.
Recommended for quiet break before moving to the bright lights at Aberystwyth at the weekend

Fab site, just come back from Easter break, snowing as we were pitching tent. Excellent views to country side. Helpful staff, we got ehu and tv, but our tv is digital and their set up isnt compatible for digital tv's so they lent us a tv. Site on a working farm, so your getting close to nature. Loads of bronze statues on site. Look out for the bull, looks eerie on a night. This site would be great in Summer. Excellent sun trap. Visit Devils bridge and walk down to the waterfalls, these are also run by the camp site.

A very peaceful site in a beautiful location. Check in was a bit slow but friendly. Very relaxed site - pretty much pitch where you fancy. The shower block was functional (plentiful hot water) but could do with updating. Cold taps on basins very fierce! The washing up area was outdoor but we had good weather so not a problem. Less good in wet weather I imagine. Downside - only one tap and the rubbish bins were located rather remotely from the camping fields. Shop useful for basics - lovely home made cakes! Launderette facilities good. Lovely walks around the site and good for dogs. Good base for exploring this beautiful area. Nearest big shops we found - Morrisons in Aberystwyth and small, but well stocked Spar in Rhayader. Freezer packs could be left in shop - 20p each. Dog friendly pub (eat in public bar) good pub grub at "The George Borrow" in Ponterwyd (check out the waterfall) and good food at "The Miners Arms" in Pontrhyd y Groes - have their own dogs so not keen on dogs. But accommodated us when pushed.

A very picturesque site surrounded by lovely views and some lovely walks close by, the site is split into, I think, three touring fields all offering lovely views. The shower block was porta cabin style which were clean, but basic with push button taps and showers which seem to run for no more than about 10 seconds per push which can be a pain but were always hot and free. There are play areas for the kids which only consisted of a couple of swings and a climbing frame in our field. Another couple of gripes was the walk to the bin drop offs and the one water tap. Theres a shop / cafe on site which seemed more for gifts etc. than supplies and the cafe only sells fish and chips at the weekend which was a bit dissapointing as the nearest chippy and big supermarket is a 25 mile round trip to Aberystwyth. Overall a very lovely part of wales to stay but for me a bit to remote which made it hard to keep the kids occupied when it rained, oh and dont forget the rock pegs as the ground is full of slate

Fantastic site - stayed a few times during 2007 which was our first year tenting. The site is clean and tidy, certainly receive a nice welcome. It is family friendly with a nice play areas in both the caravan field and in the tent field. Some bench tables are available for use - we were lucky enough to have a pitch by one on the three occasions we have been there. Lots of walks in the area, whether you walk up the hill on the site or up and down the falls - the larger of which takes some doing - make sure you have plenty to drink. We travelled into Aberystywyth to access the beaches at Clarach Bay and Borth and also to pick up supplies in the larger stores available. The site shop sells the bare essentials and there is a cafe attached, we didn't get around to trying this out. The only downside is the toilet/shower block - a rather dated cabin, regularly cleaned though with toilet paper. Showers nice and hot at various times of the day and night. I will certainly be returning to the site this year and for many years to come.

Excellent, views were amazing as was the trek to the top of the hill! plenty of things to do for our kids who are 11months - 16 years. The best fish and chips you will ever eat. There are really to many good things to say, so lets talk downside, ground, you need GOOD tent pegs, loo block needs updating, as do the dish washing facilities, and bins a bit closer to the tent field would be great, but these really are small problems as the positive things far out way the negatives, would I go again? 100% yes.

This was our first trip in a motorhome. this was our third site of our holiday. we found it quite large, with play areas both at the static caravan site as well as a more limited play area at the site of our pitch. It was also a little expensive compared to other sites we had been. pros: proximity to Devil's bridge waterfalls Cons: Outdoor washing up area. toilet block close to the farmyard behind- strong smell of manure.

September 2005 A truly wonderful tranquil site, lovely views , wonderful countryside. We had a great week on the site with plenty to see and do locally and around about. The tea rooms did a great brekfast !!. HOWEVER the only drawback was the toilet / shower block, we have definitely seen cleaner and better maintained, it was such a shame as it is truly a great location but better care could be given to the cleanliness.

August 2005 Nice rural campsite with lovely scenery ... however make sure you bring strong tent pegs as the ground is very rocky we had to move pitches because we couldn't get our tent pegs in !!! Toilets and showers were kept very clean but the washing up sink (the only one) is outdoors so it could be intersesting queing in the rain...Plenty of space for the kids to run round with a couple of play areas ..we had bad weather when we there but we may return next year , overall a good site with just a few drawbacks

August 2005 After reading the reviews we were really looking forward to our visit. The setting was lovely with the bleeting of sheep and the soaring red kites to watch. The camping field was fairly small, a dozen tents was top of comfortable limit leaving the centre free for kids to play. Another 6-8 tents could share across the road with the electric hook-ups. Could only hear the farm dogs barking on occassion and never over night.....the sheep made sure of that! Agree with the comment about the hard ground but did find soft patches if adjusted guy-rope lengths. Highly disappointed with the porta-bathroom/toilets. Toilets and floor were the only areas seen cleaned, but there was toilet roll and soap and a free vacuum-looking hairdryer. Having to constantly press a button in reduced lighting whilst having a shower is no fun though! and stand back when using the cold tap on the sinks! Finally... give Molly the horse something healthy to eat if you visit!
