Had one night here on way to do the Pembrokeshire coast.
Very pleasant site with lovely views all round. Wardens were very helpful and friendly. (helping us out with TV booster).
Toilet block in large portable cabin, clean with plenty of hot water. Baby changing unit and child toilet seat, not seen before even on C.C & C.CC sites.(no children in tow! could see swings etc open green for kiddies)
Walked to Devils Bridge 5 mins from site. Lovely walk bit steep in places.(charge for D.B walk) Pub/hotel Ok for a pint.
Cafe/shop on site but did not use.
Enjoyed our short stay here and would return.

This is a lovely peaceful site set in the hills about 1/2 hr inland from Aberystwyth. Open fields so there was plenty of room.
The toilets and showers were good, clean and plenty of hot water but there was not many people staying when we were there so may be different if busy!
The whole site was very tidy and quiet, plenty of walks in the nearby hills.
We had a drink at the nearby pub but not a meal so can't comment on food. Local shop 5 mins walk for basic provisions & papers etc.
5 min walk to nearby attraction of waterfalls and another 5mins to the station to get the steam train which goes into Aberystwyth - it takes 1hr and be sure to check time of last train back. You do not get much time in town but the trip is well worth it - £13.50 per adult return
At £12.25 for 2 adults electric this site is an absolute bargain!
We would stay here again if we were in the area.

We have just enjoyed a relaxing 12 days at the Woodlands. As on previous visits we have appreciated the wonderful location, spacious feel to the site and surrounding views and walks.
It is a handy walk to the local narrow gauge railway and the post office shop, Hafod Hotel for a coffee or evening meal and small shops. You do not have to travel to see spectacular scenery and enjoy beautiful walks.
We like to avoid the school holidays but there is a play area for children on the site and room to roam. Our grandchildren stayed with their mum & dad last year and thoroughly enjoyed their stay as they are outdoor types.
There is everything you need here though some comment on the shower facilities, they are adequate and loads of free hot water.
The site also gives value for money, and we are returning often. If you need entertainment and club life, then this may not be the place for you, but for those who like mountains, valleys, scenic beauty it is hard to match.

We have stayed here at least once a year for the past 4 years now. Every time having great fun.
There is loads of space for the kids to play in and two different park areas.
The pitches are of a good size. Some of our friends have very large dome tents and they easily fit onto the pitches.
The toilets and showers are well maintained and considering the rain this year the toilets and showers were still very clean.
Only draw back this year is that the showers were often cold. There is a notice in the showers that explains that they may not be hot when demand is high and to try showering at a different time of day.

This was a nice friendly site.
Facilities were clean.
I liked the fact that you could pitch caravans and tents together, which was ideal for us as we went with family who had a different unit from us.
The shop on site was well stocked.
Devils bridge was only a 5 min walk from the site.
The only bad point was that there wasn't any rubbish bins on the touring field, all bins were at the bottom of the hill by reception,
I think it would be a good idea to have some bins on touring field, having said this there wasn't any rubbish lying around, so maybe this works!
Would visit this site again.

Just back from a fabulous relaxing weekend at this beautiful site. The surrounding scenery is breathtaking. The site is immaculate. The facilities are amongst the best of any campsite I have been, lovely hot free showers and hairdryers, numerous play areas for the kids, well stocked shop and a tea room/cafe attached. The site managers are always around and very helpful, nothing is too much trouble. Situated right next to the Devils Bridge Waterfall which is well worth a visit, also just a short walk away is the quaint train station which can take you into Aberystwyth on the steam train which the children loved. I would highly recommend this site and the three families in our group have all booked again for the end of August, this is a first as we never usually go to a site more than once as there are so many sites to visit but, both the adults and the children had such a good time we have all decided we would like to visit again!

Friendly staff and excellent value for money.
The showers were a bit hit and miss regarding hot water as you needed to be lucky re: timing your visit.
We camped in the field without electrical hook-ups and it was handy for the toilets/showers but, as mentioned in a previous review, the rubbish bins were way back near the entrance.
Apart from these two minor points though it was a very good site and heartily recommended.

Just back from a lovely relaxing weekend break. Myself my partner and another couple enjoyed two nights here. A huge complex with lots of facilities.
The pitching area was nice, the lighting was good, not too bright. The site was very clean and the noise levels very low, suppose not surprising given the time of year. The scenery is breath taking and would happily go back again
The only downer was the rubbish disposal was on opposite side of site. After reading reviews can honestly say the campsite have listened to the reviews regarding the shower rooms and toilets, they are now immaculate and have had a deep clean and are cleaned for around 1 hour each day as we had to wait as they were being cleaned. We spoke to the cleaning staff and they said that this was there new policy and must say left a positive vibe with us.
The local pub is only 5 minutes walk away and the waterfalls at devil bridge are amazing and a must, the 1 hour walk is very scenic but the steps seem never ending on the way back up. Well worth an ice cream over the road with some of the best local ice cream we've ever tried

Myself, husband and two young children have just come back from The Woodlands. We spent a weekend in our touring caravan and had a wonderful time. Was surprised to see past review about cleanliness of toilets as found them to be immaculate. The site is in a beautiful spot, quiet and ideal for my boys to run around. The owners and site wardens were very helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. As my children enjoyed the countryside and park on the site we did not go out much but did take a ride into Aberystwyth (as the weather was amazing we even went in the sea!).We have just booked to go again in a few weeks and would recommend the site to anyone.

Stayed at this site for nearly a fortnight and we had torrential rain nearly everyday. We were pitched on a hardstanding / half grass pitch which flooded several times which left the inside of the awning soaking and slow to drain. You will need good sturdy pegs for the awning as the ground is very hard.
The site consists of mainly static vans in two locations and were very well kept.
The tourers/campers are in a field adjacent and to the back of the site. Very picture postcard views to be had with some great signed walks close by.
We hardly saw any staff during our stay which is not a bad thing sometimes! Only one washing machine for the whole site.
We have 2 dogs and there was only one dog bin provided for the whole site. The rubbish area is a walk away and so was the water/waste/ and chemical waste area.
We felt the toilet/shower block was a disgrace, it needed a very deep clean, better still knocking down and renewed. There was no where in the showers to put anything, no seats or curtains and your clothes got wet when hung on the back of the door. This lets this site down a lot. With a little more attention to detail this could be a brilliant site, we just felt the touring/camping areas could do with some attention and felt neglected.
We will not be back unless things were improved.
