Oh what a lovely site. Fantastic setting and unnumbered field for tents. It got quite crowded at the weekend but during the week there was lots of space. it is obviously a favourite with families, and being a couple with no children this can sometimes make you feel rather unrelaxed, but not her. it was lovely to watch the children run around and enjoy the surroundings.

There is so much to do in this area and the site is really well situated for a whole range of sightseeeing. Recommend a visit to the Centre for Alternative Technology. Life changing. On site there is a lovely little cafe where you can have breakfast etc. There is a local pub just down the road, a couple of pubs on the way into Aberystwyth all of which serve real ale.

We had a lovely stay here. Would recommend it to tents, tourers, caravans. You will have a lovely stay!

What a beautiful site. Ideal if you have young children as there is plenty of room for them to run around. If you visit we would recommend that you use rock pins for pegging your tent out as the ground is very hard. A little disappointed with the shower block, it really needs a revamp. They are kept clean but a little bit outdated. This would not stop me visiting again infact we have booked for next year for two weeks.

I had been on the site all of five minutes and fell in love with the place. The staff are extremely friendly and accomodating. We were quite a large party with caravans requiring hook-ups, and tents yet we were told we could all be near each other, basically camping where we chose as long as we didnt obstruct anyone else, this was perfect for us all.
There is a brook which runs alongside the camping field, which is wonderful for falling asleep to the sound of running water.
By the washing up sink ( which is outside - not ideal in bad weather) is a small paddock which contains a very friendly shetland pony called molly. She will keep you company while you wash up, and the kids all loved her, even when she tried to eat one of their jumpers through the fence!
There are swings for the kids near the hookup paddocks, also a lovely gazebo on top of the hill for a fantastic 360 degree view, very peaceful for escaping from the kids and sitting quietly. The daily routine of the farmers getting the cattle and sheep in and out of the fields is also a great amusement, the farmer even took one of our boys for a ride on the quad!! fantastic!
The farmer was bringing out picnic benches for everyone as the camping field filled up so we all had a bench to sit and eat at, this was a lovely touch and we really appreciated the gesture, it showed what care they have for their customers.Even as the field filled up there was still plenty of room for privacy, and for playing football and other games.
There are perhaps only a few downsides which havent been mentioned;
* the water tap is not directly on the camping field itself
*some of the street lights are broken which can mean taking a torch for midnight toilet trips
*the dogs on the farm were barking alot at night
* the shop is a bit of a trek from the campsite, near reception
*the are hundreds of midges/nats/flies at night, making bug repellant and citronella candles an absolute must
*the rubbish bins are by the shop and reception, none nearby
Despite these downsides we are not put off, its charms more than make up for it . There is another downside though; now you know how great the site is its no longer our secret getaway!

Lovely setting amongst the hills and quite sheltered.Plenty of room for the kids to play. Toilet/shower facilities very clean and more than adequate. It was very quiet while we were there but if the site was full there could be queues for washing up as there is only one sink.
Only one drawback is the constant barking (especially at night) from the dogs at the farm next to the site

We went to this site from the reviews on this site, but we found it to be even better than we were expecting. Even though on 2 of the days we were staying it rained the toilet blocks were kept amazingly clean even though they had just cut the grass and the clippings got walked into the showers they kept cleaning them.
The site was lovely and the grounds were kept lovely. The only thing I would say is that you need rock pins if you are going in a tent as the ground is very hard because of the slate. Apart from that I can't recommend it highly enough.

Great site. Lovely setting and area. Toilets and showers kept clean. Tea rooms and shop stocks most essentials and cook good food, they also do take aways of Fridays and Saturdays. Plenty of space and walks for the kids to run around in.
