Stayed at this site for 2 nights in early August - this is an impressively run site with some of the best facilities I have ever seen - we were on the electric hook up field which is right next to the new shower block which is like something out of a designer magazine! keypad entry on the doors and absolutely immaculate facilities inside, small play area for children but loads of room for them to play.
Devils Bridge and the Mynach falls are right next to the site and there is a bar/restaurant 5 minutes away. Only downside is the location - it was just a little bit too isolated - once we had seen the falls everything else is at least a 15-20 minute drive away down some very windy country roads. Having said that Aberystwyth is a lovely place with castle, beach, arcades etc and it is only 15 minutes from the site.
Overall a lovely site with excellent facilities - ideal for relaxing or those interested in walks etc.

We have just arrived back from a 6 day break here. We had an amazing time. There was a fair bit of rain throughout our stay and the staff worked tirelessly to ensure the shower block was kept scrupulously clean.
There was an endless supply of hot water and although only 5 showers, toilets and sinks there was never a queue for any if them. There was a large amount of space for the children to ride their bikes around, a small play area and my children discovered a den - hours of fun.
The local waterfalls are a must see as is Borth beach. The surrounding hills are great for an explore and the sheep are nice to watch. I would definitely return.

We have just returned from a weeks stay at Devils Bridge, and can honestly say that this was the best campsite we have ever stayed at. The toilet blocks / washing up area was superb, clean, tidy and heated - which makes a big difference when rain occurs.
The site is in a beautiful valley with spectacular views and walks through the mountains, there is a small shop on site with basics, and a lovely tea room.
The childs play area could do with updating / adding to - especially the camping field one - however the 4 under 8's in our group managed to enjoy themselves making dens and exploring the wood area.
Even though we had a considerable amount of rain, the site stayed easily accessable.
The no noise after 10 was adhered to on most occasions and it was a lovely peaceful site, with virtually no traffic noise.
All in all, the campsite was lovely, and without a doubt one of the only ones that my family would return to time and time again.

We have just returned from this wonderful campsite. The facilities were the best we've ever come across. The toilet and shower blocks were new and had a never ending supply of hot water and the showers and toilets were lovely and clean.
The staff on the site worked tirelessly to keep the site clean and tidy, cleaning and checking the toilets and the site and picking litter up. Nothing was too much trouble.
The washing up facilities were also excellent and placed so you could look out across the campsite which was useful for families as you could keep an eye on the children whilst washing up or just to watch out over the campsite.
The laundry was also useful.
The shop had the essentials and sold ace cakes.
When we arrived there had been a down pour and the ground was a bit soggy but the manager was quick to come and sort out our pitch.
We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this site.
There was a children's swing and play area also.
Aberyswyth was about 9 miles away and had shops and a Lidl and Iceland.
Lovely walks locally and the waterfalls were lovely as was the Chocolate shop. Also a pub about five minutes walk away,

This campsite is in a beautiful spot and the scenery is stunning. The new facilities are outstanding and are the best we have ever been to. The people running the campsite are helpful and friendly and are available at all times. The shop and cafe is handy, but is really the only place you can get wifi. There is no 02 or Vodafone reception for 9 miles and the phone box doesn't work, so if you need to stay in touch with anyone on your holiday factor this in before booking. The area has some of the most stunning scenery in Britain and the campsite is on a winding, tricky road, which is probably why there are less large caravans there. There are so many midges and biting insects here. My husband got bitten very badly, so be prepared for that if you book this campsite.
There was an accident on the campsite when we were there and the ambulance took two and a half hours to arrive! This campsite is fantastic and in a wonderful place, but factor in all the above before booking. It is a great place if you are looking for a complete getaway with luxury facilities, but remember the insect repellent and be prepared for the remote feel of the place.

Our first visit to this site but I don't think it will be our last.
There's a mixture of statics, tourers and tents, pitches were well spaced and TV aerial points available by the EHU (cable available for hire at reception). Friendly, helpful people who run the site and facilities block couldn't be faulted, very posh and always spotlessly clean. Ample water and waste points, all well maintained.
The tea rooms were nice, if a little on the pricey side. The only downside was the lack of wi fi on the tourers field and absolutely no signal for the phone, so this is a truly get away from it all kind of place. 12 miles to Aber (take the scenic route on the A4120) which is the nearest place for supermarkets etc. And the restaurant at the Red Kite Centre is well worth a visit - very good food for a reasonable price.

Toilet/shower facilities don't come any better than this! Very high tech! (But dare I say, a bit echo - y, if you get my drift!). Our welcome was very friendly and warm (unlike the weather) from both the ladies looking after reception, who were helpful in providing us with walks information and advice about getting to Aberystwith by taxi to get the train back. The taxi is subsidised and costs £1. 20 for the 25 minute ride! The Vale of Rheidol Railway trip is a 'must do', even on a wet day, though there are only two trains a day in low season, hence the taxi one-way. In Aber it is worthwhile visiting the museum in an old theatre next to the visitor centre - far bigger and more interesting than you expect. Good to do on a wet day! The site itself is is very pleasantly laid out - spacious and green, sitting below surrounding hills. The holiday-home part of the site is separate, and not realy visisble from the camping field. It looks to be very high standard in beautifully maintained grounds.
Free wifi is available on the site, but you have to walk or drive down to reception, or you can sit in the cafe opposite and use their's. We didn't visit the waterfalls that Devil's Bridge is famous for, but would have done if the weather had been more appealing

My 8yr old son and I had a great time camping at Woodlands. It is clean camp with lots of exploring for everyone. The cleaning facilities are beautifully clean, my son especially liked the shop. We would definitely recommend this site. Within walking distance of the Devil's Bridge, and a 20min drive to Aberystwyth. We had a great couple of days, and also dog friendly.

I've been visiting this site (camping/tents) for the last three or four years with a group of friends in old 1950s to 1970s landrovers in May and September of each year and we have a great time exploring Wales
We started off with about 7 vehicles and have slowly enlarged the group (14 vehicles on our last visit) and have always been warmly welcomed
We camp in the bottom corner of the field behind the cycle hut as far away as possible from the larger section of the campsite to try not to interfere with other campers (to date we've had no complaints)
Everyone in our gatherings thoroughly enjoy using the campsite and the facilities and look forward to returning each year, the staff are always pleasant and helpful and make us feel welcome
I've nothing but praise for the site, staff and facilities, if nothing else Woodlands is worth visiting just to experience the new shower block which really does set a new standard (and I thought the old shower block was good compared to many sites)
I'll definitely be going back there next year with our group
I think the midge problem that some have commented on is probably due to the time of year as I've not experienced it and not really heard anyone else complain of bites, we don't take children as we have them as mostly a 'Blokes weekend' (there is some beer/alcohol involved) so I can't comment on 'child friendliness'
We're 'self sufficient' being in landrovers/tents so we haven't tested the EHU or anything else needed with caravans but generally I'd say it's the best site I've ever used
It gets a BIG thumbs up from me

The first thought, when you put your tent on the pitch and you expected a quiet lonely campsite, is 'waow, wrong choice'.
But :
- the field for the tents is very well located and peaceful
- the facilities are new, with space and very comfortable
So I really liked this place, and had a very good night.
