Visited Woodlands over the Spring Bank Holiday May 2013. On arrival you are greeted with a nice site and the Warden on reception was really nice and helpful. We were a party of 11 with three large tents all with hook-up and we had been allocated pitches all together which helped.
The site is nice, the views are lovely and the facilities are really good. My only criticism is that the shower blocks are dated and old and were not overly clean. In fairness the site are doing something about it by building what looks like a lovely new shower block. My wife suffered 2 cold showers and even found a discarded sanitary towell in the shower which says more about the person who left it that the site to be honest. The shop is well stocked and the cafe/tea room is also nice and food is good.
Some of the camping pitches are sloped however ours wasn't. All in all we enjoyed the stay, would go back (especially when the new shower block is completed) and the location is fabulous.

We really loved this site, the fantastic location with stunning views, the welcome was warm & friendly made for a great stay. The wardens here are especially helpful.
The site is close the Devil's Bridge with it's three bridges, Mynach falls and friendly Havod Hotel. Also close by is the Vale of Rheidol railway we had a great trip to Aberystwth on the steam train.
The Woodlands tea room on the site it's self was open 10-5 we enjoyed a really lovely afternoon tea here, this is also the site shop which sells basics plus local produce and tourist goods. There is also a local village shop and various other tea rooms in the village itself.
We would highly recommend this site especially for it's location and friendliness to visitors with various attractions within waking distance.

We stumbled upon this site by chance, the welcome was warm and friendly. There are lots of different areas so a large site feels more intimate. The facilities were clean but will be improved when the new block is completed.
The location is good being close to the Devil's Bridge and Hafod Hotel. Red kites and Buzzards were common sites and this is a good base for trips out. We went to the Red Kite centre and walked and mountain biked.

We have just returned from a tour of Wales in a tent, and this was our final stop, what a fantastic find, it was beautiful, both the site and the area, the staff couldn't have been more helpful,
The shop well stocked with basics, and a cafe too.
The bathrooms were a little basic but clean, the showers powerful and hot, and there are plans to replace them next year (when we will be returning with our extended family)
The staff are happy to guide you towards the local attractions and walks, (the falls are breathtaking in the rain) and regularly drive around, to make sure all is well and safe.
My only criticism, would be the only phone networks they receive on site is orange or t-mobile, and if I'd known, we would have prepared for it.
Overall, we could not have been happier, beautiful surroundings, lovely site, and friendly staff.

This site is set in a fantastic setting. If you get chance to climb the hill straight off the site you will appreciate this more.
There are plenty of walks from the site and Devils Bridge is about 10 mins walk away. Though be warned the walk down the Gorge itself is extremely steep! would not recommend it to anyone with any disability. There are no clear warnings until your already scrambling down the first lot of steep steps and I mean steep!.
There is a very small play areas on the touring side for the kids but plenty of room for them to run around. There is also another larger play park back down the hill near the reception next to the statics.
The showers and toilets let the site down a bit. It was just a basic portable cabin not always spotlessly clean.
Make sure you take plenty of insect repellent with you, the midges can be a problem at night.
We would definitely use this site because of the great walks and fantastic views.

Stayed here for 4 nights in July and had a fantastic holiday and would definitely recommend this site.
Nice simple site, plenty of room to pitch your tent.
There is a bicycle rack to secure your bikes to which was very handy for us.
Facilities were very decent, always clean and never a queue for the showers, although the water temperature did range from warm to scorching depending on the time of day. We did see adverts for a new shower block coming soon.
There isn't anywhere to plug in your own hairdryer in the ladies, but there is one provided. Not great but did the trick.
There is a children's play area.
Literally a ten minute walk from the Devil's Bridge waterfalls and not too far to drive to Aberystwyth and Nant-yr-Arian (well worth a visit!)
Just past Devil's Bridge is the Hafod Hotel, we had a very nice pub meal here during our stay, good food not overpriced.
And finally keep your eyes peeled on the site as that is where we saw our first red kite of many during the trip!

I stayed here for one night on a mountain biking trip around south west Wales.
The site is in a beautiful location at Devils Bridge and the site itself is also scenic.
The facilities were good and clean when I used them. It is a long walk up to the camping area, but only a two minute walk to the village where there is a pub/cafe/hotel for food and drink which was relaxed and pleasant with friendly staff.
The reception at the campsite was warm and welcoming and for two cars and one tent I think we paid £17 which was a little more than normal but good value for site.

A return visit again this year and not much has changed. Still a bargain site with a warm friendly welcome, but this year we opted for a EHU.
The only downside to the site is the weather - when it rains the site does get a little boggy and we woke up to a lake just outside our tent on the saturday (beware plot 14! as the mountain run off causes a flood) but in fairness we were warned beforehand and offered another pitch, which we foolishly declined as it was too near a meet.
The facilities are looking rather in need of some TLC but they are fully usable and nice and clean.
The site is still wonderful to explore and if you have kids they will love the park and the sheep.
I just wish the weather were better.

Stayed here a week in June/July of this year. Weather was atrocious but didn't detract from the beautiful setting that is part of this campsite, and the staff are very friendly and helpful.
However, the downside was the shower/toilet facilities. They were very clean (apart from the spider's webs above the units) but outdated and limited in space. A rally took place at the weekend we were there, and unfortunately trying to get a shower or use the toilet during this period was a nightmare.
Overall the setting is fantastic but the facilities leave much to desire.

Stayed here for four nights. The site I was going to originally was a bit disappointing, so I found this one.
Really pleasant, set in woodlands with plenty of room to pitch a tent. Or sites for caravans. The warden and his wife are very pleasant and helpful. As are the owners. They were all concerned when a rowdy group turned up one night. We were assured they would be moving on. It would be a good idea if groups weren't allowed as many sites adopt this policy.
Showers and toilets clean and satisfactory. The Halfway Inn six miles away does great food, reasonably priced. A steam train from Devils Bridge to Aberystwyth is great. Just what 65 year old little boys need.
