Lovely location, helpful staff and clean facilities. Try the icecream from the site shop!

All the pitches are amazingly separated so that the site feels smaller than it is.

If you like fly fishing you can try the river at the bottom of the site but not much in there so try Wimbleball Resvr, Clatworth Resvr, River Exe or Exe Valley Fishery. Spoilt for choice and all a short car ride away.

And don't forget to visit the cosy pub just along the road, for a really good evening meal before you head back home.

Have just returned from a seven day stay at this truly delightful small adult only site on the Somerset / Devon border. A really lovely site, very tidy and nicely laid out with caravan pitches in garden-like settings. Well planted with an abundance of trees and shrubs yet not manicured which gives a natural feel to the surroundings.

Modern toilet and showers housed in converted barn - all kept in excellent order. There are five fully serviced pitches. The Reception offers limited but adequate supplies and there is excellent food shopping at Wiveliscombe nearby.

The site is situated adjacent to a fairly busy road and it is fair to say that there is some early morning noise from this but after a couple of days we didn't really notice it.

There is good walking from the site and plenty to do in the surrounding area including several National Trust properties to visit.

We shall definitely return to Waterrow. The owners and Wardens were all so helpful and extremely friendly. Thank you for a lovely stay.

This is the first time we have used this site and will certainly be using it again. On arrival we were greeted by the owners and gave us all the information required about the site. We were directed to a hard stand and told we would get the morning sun and we did.

The facilities were very clean and a pleasure to use the toilets and shower facilities were excellent. Also a good selection of books and magazines and tourists information. We really enjoyed our stay and will certainly use them again, just one small note if you have television with you you will need a tv cable to connect as normal aerials will not pick up a signal. You can purchase a cable from the owners for £12.50.

The walks around the site are quite amazing. We were not rushed of the site the next morning left about 11.30 am which gives you time to have a nice lazy breakfast. We were given a booklet about similar sites which we have used in the past she also signed the back of the form if you use 7 of the sites you can enter the prize draw, all in all a really nice site well done.

We went to Waterrow last week and were very impressed with the very helpful staff when we arrived, as this was our first trip in our caravan we needed all the help we could get.

The site is very well laid out with all caravan pitches being hard standing with hook ups for electric and tv, there are also fully serviced pitches.

We took our dog with us and were impressed with the dog walking paddock and the lovely walks, especially to the village pub, which is nearby.

The wardens went out of their way to help us set up and showed us where waste and chemical disposal points were and also the water points, showers etc (which were spotless and warm).

We would certainly recommend this site and will be visiting again soon.

Just spent 3 nights camping at Waterrow site and everything went very well apart from the weather! All facilities at this site are very good and clean and the staff really friendly and helpful. There are some lovely short walks straight from the campsite. The Rock pub is a 2 minute walk down the road but is more of a restaurant than a pub but very nice, just a bit expensive. Exmoor is about a 15 minute drive away.

I'd recommend this site I just hope you get better weather than we did!

The site was easily found from the M5 using the directions given by the owners. The Sat nav directions would have presented a very interesting end to the journey.

On arrival we were given a warm welcome by the staff, who explained all the facilities available along with information on local shopping and walking.

The site is situated on a slope, but is designed so that all of the caravan pitches are relatively level. Some of the pitches are fully serviced. All are hard standing ( tents on grassed area)

The grounds are well laid out with extensive amounts of shrubs, trees, flowers and hedges. The grounds are well maintained.

There is little or no TV and mobile phone reception, although internet and TV booster facilities are available at extra cost.A payphone is also available.

The toilet, washing and showering facilities are of a high standard and are always kept spotless, there is also a washing machine and dryer if required.

The only down side is that some of the pitches are small. Most however are ample for caravan and awning.

The site is located about 12 miles from Minehead (seaside) and 11 miles from Taunton with some lovely countryside in between. The area boasts a high density of NT premises and other similar attractions. The local scenery in my opinion is very pretty.

General shopping can be achieved in the local town, but other larger stores ( Morrisons, Tesco etc) are available within 10 to 15 miles.

Overall the site fits well into the site group, maintaining the standards expected. I have already decided that we will revisit this site soon.

We chose this site for our first touring caravan holiday because it was only 75 miles from home.

Before arrival and when booking the pitch the owners were very helpful and easy to deal with, they even warned us about the snow that was still around the evening before we travelled.

Upon arrival the owner sorted us out with a very easy pitch for us to get on to, due to my first time nerves about reversing.

The toilet facilities were just about the cleanest we have ever seen, with users rightfully being encouraged to keep them that way. I personally liked the arrangement of the toilets being built under cover in a barn, they had a very cosy feel to them and were kept very warm.

The site itself was also very clean and tidy, in spite of the recent bad weather, there was very little mud around. There were also plenty of places to get clean and empty waste water around.

There are some superb walks immediately from the site and we were given a complimentary brochure upon arrival with four short guided walks, which our dogs also enjoyed two of. The large dog walking field was also a real bonus and something we look for on most sites.

Nearby Wiveliscombe (3 miles?)has a Spar and a Co oP where you can pick up a bit of shopping and Tiverton around 15 miles away has a large Morrisons if you want better value and more choice.

We will definitely be returning to this site, hopefully in better weather, at some point.

There was no Vodafone signal or television reception available at the site, but a reasonable charge for the payphone made this less of a problem and you can buy a modestly priced aerial hook up lead for your TV from the owners.

This was our first visit to Waterrow and we found it to be a very attractive site with spotless, warm and interestingly designed shower and toilet facilities. The owner was very friendly and not only helped us to park our new and bigger van but also placed us near the woodland walk as we have two dogs.
Although it had rained heavily and the grass was muddy, the pitches were mostly hardstandings so it didn't pose much of a problem other than on the walks - wellies a must!
There were four walks given to us when we arrived and obviously there was more to be had. There is a pub locally that we didn't have time to try (allows dogs) and nearby Wiveliscombe is a pretty town with plenty of shops. Taunton was about 15 miles away.
This was a site to relax in and our only slight niggle was that the recycling and rubbish bin were a fair way from the pitches with no other bins available that we saw. But with sheep and wall to wall countryside to gaze upon that was an easy trade off.

We have stayed at his site many times and it is one of our favourite sites. Excellent facilities, friendly owners and helpers. Lots of space for dogs to run around and lovely river walks. Like others have said there is a pub a short walk away, the food is very good but it is pricey and please do remember to take a torch, it is a dodgy stretch of road to walk along.

Grand little site, pleasant, picturesque, well laid out, clean and tidy and staff that were friendly and welcoming beyond expectations.

Although this site is not in Exmoor, it just as well be, as it is surrounded by high hills that gives this site an almost cosy feel to it. The pitches are flat, but laid out in a random pattern and with clever, strategically placed plants and bushes, you really might think you are the only one on the site. It is a shame we only saw it on a wet February day, so I will return in the summer when it should be glorious.

Non existent TV reception without a lead, however, the owners of the site, who were going to be out when we arrived, couldn't have gone more out of their way to make sure we had a lead ready for us so we could watch the England v Scotland rugby, however, in hindsight perhaps it would have been better if we hadn't bothered, but that's no fault of the sites.

The toilets are in a porta cabin, but they are all enclosed in a barn, and were exceptionally clean and a pleasure to use and while the site isn't brimming with the extras that larger sites might offer, the general cleanliness of the whole site was impressive.

There is a pub a little up the road, The Rock, good food, if just a little bit pricey, but there is a separate pool room so you don't feel as if you are disturbing the dinners once you've finished. Make sure you take a torch for the walk back, the road is a little windy.

For what this site is; a small, picturesque, remote, country site, then it's probably a 9.5/10.
