Stayed here four four nights in good weather. We had a great welcome by the staff. The pitches were well spaced and we didn't feel squashed together although it was fairly busy, with caravans and motor homes coming and going. It was a very peaceful site, which is what we wanted. The facilities were great, clean with spacious shower cubicles. There were washing/drying facilities also which we didn't use, but all looked clean and well cared for.
From here we could easily explore the north and south coasts. We visited Linton and Lynmouth and Ilfracombe. We also went south to Seaton and Sidmouth. Nearby Wiviliscombe has a few high quality food shops.
All in all a great site for exploring the area. I only wish there had been room for us to store our caravan here.
One possible downside for some was the phone signal was none existent, not the fault of the staff! The internet was ok however, and good value at £5 a week.

Stuck in the middle of nowhere, but a quiet site for adults only. Friendly staff. Easy walk to local pub and resident staff booked a table in the pub restaurant for us. Toilet, shower and laundry block very clean and tidy. Designated hard standing with grassed area. We took the local bus to Wivelscombe and it dropped us right outside the site.

Approach - really easy to find, follow the web site instructions, good access - nobody can ever complain about access - we were there the week a 60 foot cabin arrived !
Staff on arrival - this was the best welcome we have ever had on any site, informative, welcoming and very caring. We were shown to our pitch which personally I'm very grateful for, you know you are setting up on the correct pitch and you can glean any hints and tips to pitching and the site as you chat.
Pitch - we had a fully serviced hard standing pitch with awning, we love pitches that are divided by greenery - much better than feeling like you're in a caravan car park, and this pitch certainly offered that.
Facilities - plenty of showers, roomy with lots of hot water, (push button) very clean. Laundry, washing up area, coffee machine, computer and pay phone - WiFi is £5. 00 for a week - it was nice to see a reasonable charge which I didn't mind paying at all.
Local area -plenty off lovely walks from the site and a short drive to many more, small town near by with the usual - the rock pub a few hundred yards and the food was great. Wellington a little further away with a waitrose etc
In summary -very well looked after spacious site that has everything you could ever need.
We would like to wish Jamie and lynette every success with Waterrow. Their hard work and commitment is exceptional.
Was this site for us - yes, we loved it here, you really could hear a pin drop, so so peaceful, felt really safe, I've found it hard doing this review as it was just perfect and I was aware I would sound terribly gushing if I wasn't careful ! Highly recommend it.

I was very disappointed with this site because as soon as we got their the owner told us there was no mobile signal and also the signal for the television was poor so we bought a 25mtr cable to try and improve the channels but unfortunately we couldn't get ITV the pitch was on a slope so was the hook-up also the approach to the site ie. Roads and lanes were very dangerous to drive on with tree branches hanging over the road forcing motorhomes and caravans to drive basically in the middle of the road I must say this is the worst site I have stayed on and needless to say will not be going back and finally the reception is only open for one and half hours in the morning and one hour in the afternoon.

Have recently become the owner of a small caravan and was very nervous about the whole thing - so wanted to find a reasonably 'local' site for trial run. How lucky I was to pick Waterrow as.
A) it is a lovely site (adults only, low key - in a very positive way, lovely location, a beautiful 'on site' woodland walk along the R Tone- as a small babbling riverette with wild orchids, foxgloves, kingfishers - and all requisite facilities - clean, good working order, etc. ) and for me. B) Jamie and Lynnette - the new owners - couldn't have been more helpful. Jamie came to 'check' that I was ok and offered loads of useful hints! In fact, I loved the whole experience so much I left the van on a 'store' situation (your van is removed by Jamie to a 'safe' location - in an adjoining field with all the required regulations - and then returned to your pitch as and when required!) and have just returned to spend another week there - and will return again! Loads of beautiful areas to visit - Exmoor, the North Somerset coast (Minehead, Porlock, Lynton & Lynmouth, the Minehead to Bishop's Lydeard steam railway), local reservoirs, etc. Etc. ' Wivvy' is a v pleasant small town (Co-op and Spar) and various other small shops - all you need!
No, I am not a 'family friend' writing a 'brilliant' review - it is seriously a lovely site and with lovely owners who deserve to do well - but seeing how many people stay there, don't think that will be a problem!

What a lovely camp site. My husband and myself were touring the West Country and found this site online, we booked in for one night as we wanted to explore and travel as much as possible in our 2 weeks away. We ended up here for 4 nights.
Lynette and Jamie (the owners) were so helpful and friendly.
The campsite itself is very well kept, with rugged walks just a stones throw away. There is a river walk and a meadow near by, which was ideal for taking our dog for a good exercise.
The Rock pub is just five minutes walk, we didn't eat there but it was friendly. Wivelscombe is a short drive away, with shops and a few pubs, The Bear is a lovely pub with a great beer garden. The facilities at the site are very good, nice and clean too. We drove to Exmoor a couple of times, we headed for Winsford and asked for directions to be able to wander freely, it was 5 minutes drive from there. All in all, it was the best part of our holiday. We wish Jamie and Lynette all the best and would like to say that all that hard work is paying off.

Excellent peaceful site with spotless facilities. Wonderful hosts. This is a quiet part of Somerset with excellent walking. The site is on the West Deane Way Footpath. Good golf courses nearby and the local pub serves good food. Follow the directions on the web site and access is easy. Dulverton is worth a visit and Wimbleball lake has a 9 mile footpath all around it that is easy to follow (use one of the carparks not at the cafe then you can get refreshments en route). For the less mobile if you park at the cafe there is a surfaced path all the way to the dam about 3/4 of a mile away.

Came here as part of the deal when we purchased our new van from Highbridge Caravans. What a little gem, the owners are making lots of improvements and listen carefully to any suggestions you may have. Only here for 4 nights but really enjoyed the peace and quiet and excellent facilities. Visited Minehead, Lynton and Lynmouth, Taunton and Wellington all of which are within easy distance. The Rock Inn nearby is a great place to eat not cheap but excellent food.

Just spent 4 nights here at this beautiful site close to a lovely 'old fashioned ' village (Wivaliscombe), well worth a visit as is Dulverton, where you must try Farthings farm shop/café! The coffee is excellent. As for the site itself I can only confirm all the good things previously said about it. The owners are the perfect hosts and are working very hard to make this the perfect getaway. Have already booked a return visit. Ideal for motor homers as the bus service is very reliable, if you can drag yourself away from the peace and tranquillity! Well done.

This is a Best of British adult only site, B.O.B have a very high standard and this site has, read some of the other reviews.
Attractively landscaped park all hard standing with scrubs and trees to give some privacy if required.
Close to Exmoor, only a short drive into Wiveliscombe and a pub a short walk away that does food.
The owners who only took over the site recently couldn't have been more helpful but at the same time left you alone to enjoy your stay.
A peaceful, friendly and well looked after site. We both needed to chill out and that's exactly what you can do here.
Will we go back, of course we will.
