Lovely, peaceful, adult only site, a member of the 'Best of British' group. The owners have put a lot of work into improving this site and have an award and photos to prove it. Almost-level pitches are nicely grouped with plenty of space around each one and plenty of hedging to provide privacy as well as to encourage plenty of wildlife- birds of all kinds and the local family of ducks who visit at mealtimes. Amenity block is housed in a large barn and is spotlessly clean. The block is closed for cleaning for about an hour each day. There is no shop on site but at reception it is possible to buy some basics such as longlife milk or frozen rolls as well as frozen meals if you have an oven and locally produced ice cream for dessert. We were not able to get down to the river due to the rain and mud but I understand that there is a nice walk there. Some road noise during the day, but not intrusive and the occasional low-flying jet but otherwise a lovely place to stay for rest and relaxation.

Lovely site spoilt by appalling weather on first day. Pitches seem small in comparison to other sites but privacy maintained by hedges. Toilet and shower block spotless. Great site for dogs with plenty of dog walks close at hand. Great pub down the road but you will need a torch as the road back is pitch black. We will return again

This is the best site we have ever camped at. All the facilities were very clean. It is in a great location - very quiet apart from the sheep! The owners were very friendly with a great shop. There is a pub within walking distance although I would recommend taking a torch which serves great food with again very friendly staff. We didn't want to leave!

Recently spent a wonderful weekend at this superb site. Excellent location, very peaceful and tranquil, just what we wanted. Great flat pitches not too close together. Toilets spotlessly clean, also showers in same state, along with plenty of hot water and no queues. Owners very friendly and helpful, even order newspapers for you if required. WIll deffo be using this site again.

As a disabled person my disability is 24 hrs a day not through choice. The disabled facilities here are behind a five bar gate which is padlocked after 7.00pm. whilst on route to the disabled toilets, I was asked where I was going on 3 separate occasions during our week long stay. The pub nearby was handy but extremely expensive with main courses at around £15 and house wine starting at £13.95. I wouldn't hurry back I'm afraid.

Have just spent a lovely long weekend here over the bank holiday. Arrived to a warm and friendly welcome. The pitches are excellent with lovely scenic views. Great walks for the dogs too and lots to explore. The facilities are excellent and are of the highest standard - always well maintained and very clean. There are plenty of leaflets, books and other useful information on hand. Would definitely recommend this site and would return to in the very near future. Just a small note - best to go by the directions provided on their website (we had them printed out but left them in the caravan whilst we were driving!), so we followed the directions on the satnav - BIG mistake! Takes you through the little villages with roads just big enough for one vehicle - very hair raising, especially as I was driving! Would give this site a 10/10 for providing excellent facilities, warm and friendly welcome and great scenery (and no children!).

As Gilbert might have said, this is the very model of a well run campsite. The facilities were not only spotless, they were actually warm in January! The hard-standing pitches (others are grass) are horizontal and drained. The reception was especially friendly and helpful, even though the owners were away at the time. It's a pleasant riverside location, with walks from the site and much more excellent walking in the vicinity.

August 2004 This is a really great site. We stayed here as part of my husband's bike ride from Land's End to John O'Groats. They get quite a few cyclists staying here on route.
Despite arriving in the pouring rain, the owners were really helpful in showing us to where we could pitch and offered to dry my husbands cycle gear overnight for him, which was really appreciated.
The barn has all the facilities you need and lovely hot, free showers. Would highly recommend this site. Its quiet, clean, well laid out and incredibly friendly.

August 2004 Made the most of a child free week and visited this adults only site. The facilities were immaculate, the site owners very approachable and helpful, the local pub nicely within staggering distance. The whole site had a fantastic air of peace and quiet, will be returning as soon as possible.

June 2004 Just spent 2 nights at this site and must say what a wonderful site it is. A lot of work has been done over the last year and it now has the best facilities we have seen in this country for the price - £12 per night for 2 adults with campervan. New toilet and shower facilities in portacabins in a barn - very ingenious! Absolutely spotless (and I am pickie!!!) Very friendly welcome.
