My girlfriend and I stayed at Waterrow Touring Park for 2 nights. The first thing to strike you upon arrival is how friendly and helpful the new owners Jamie & Lynette are. There is a real laid back atmosphere and nothing is too much trouble with Lynette happily showing you around and 'hands on' Jamie more than happy to help with any problems you may come across with your caravan, motorhome or even tent! We were lucky enough to choose our hard standing pitch which overlooked the river below. Truly beautiful. The pitch's are of a generous size with a good space between each. The site is set in a valley and as I said there is a stream that you can walk along and if you fancy it take a stroll to the local pub The Rock which is 5 minutes away. Just set back off the main road you may think you would hear road noise however this is not the case at all. Indeed the only sound we heard was the river and the bird song. Breathtaking. The facilities are wonderful. Hot showers in an ultra clean toilet/shower block. We went there to unwind and we did on day one. Highly recommended! We will be back just as soon as we can book the time off work. Keep up the good work Jamie & Lynette. See you soon.

A lovely peaceful site, lots of birds around and plenty of local walks. Facilities are all excellent.
We have been camping and caravanning for over 50 years, this was the best welcome we have ever had. The owners have recently taken over and they were a pleasure to meet, lots of information and help where required. Their attitude seemed to be reflected by people staying there, as everyone seemed to be very friendly and 'laid back'
We will definitely be returning

We spent the weekend at Waterrow, this being our first visit - but certainly won't be our last. We arrived to be greeted by the friendly owners & as the site wasn't busy, was told we could choose our pitch. (We choose a pitch backing onto the river as we like the sound of running water) The pitches are hardstanding with plenty of room for our large motorhome. The showers/toilets are spotless and very warm which was welcoming at this time of year, very modern too so I can only think they have had a re-fit recently. We were up in our van so didn't pay much attention to the dish washing area etc but all this is housed within a huge barn, there is also a pay phone as no phone signal on site. The grounds were immaculate with lovely grass areas, lots of trees & shrubs etc. There are also some pretty good views of the surrounding hills - hearing an owl late at night was a bonus too! We will definitely return again, the owners (who have recently taken over) could not have been more friendly & helpful, giving us idea's for good walks & they even helped us start our van when the battery was flat. We are already looking in the diary to see when we can return!

Just spent 2 weeks at this lovely Adult Only site it is very clean and well kept. We found this site to be great for touring around the different areas and it's easy access to north and south Devon. One slight problem us was the no heaters in tents and awnings but this was overcome after speaking to the owners of the site who are very nice and approachable the wardens are brilliant and very helpful. For us it was well worth the cost.

Stayed here couple of nights courtesy of Chelston to check out our new Adria van. Quite a remote site in lovely surroundings. Good dog walk along stream. Pitches well laid out on different levels - some quite private. Good facilities all housed in a large old barn! Very good for observing wildlife - especially birds. Too quiet for families I guess. One pub a short way along lane. One regular visitor said pub 'used to be very good' E. G. Friendly, reasonable food and very dog-friendly, but had since gone up-market, expensive food and dogs no longer really welcomed, just large wallets! One man's opinion I guess but we didn't try it! Would go back. Very friendly warden(ess)!

Just ahd a long weekend here. The dog facilities on site are excellent and the walks from the site are also excellent. The Facilities (shower / toilets) are very dated and in need of updating although they were very clean. The cost compared with caravan club sites was not goo value. The staff were very friendly. The Rock Inn staff are very friendly and welcoming. Although overall it is quite expensive. Would visit again but they need to consider a programme to start refurb of the facilities as it lets the site down.

We stayed here for two nights in wet weather. The site was well kept and clean and not busy, so we didn't have any trouble with waiting for the showers. If the site had been busy this may not have been the case. There is a stream close by and lots of footpaths but they were very muddy so we kept to the local roads. The walk to Wiveliscombe was nice but there is not much there. Coffee shop closed on a Saturday. This site would be lovely in summer but also packed and not much to do if you don't have use of a car. Tv good with the booster but no vodafone signal. Site nicely laid out but not a lot of room between pitches if awnings are up. The best bits were adults only.

Our 2nd ever camp site. After a weekend in Cornwall last week we thought we'd have another go straight away whilst everything was fresh in our minds. Waterrow was easy to find and very well laid out. On booking in the owner recommended we didn't need the fully serviced pitch we'd booked as we didn't have the right equipment to make use of it, the mains adaptor for the Aqua roll etc. As I said, this was only our 2nd time caravanning so lessons are being learnt all the time. How nice not to be taken advantage of. A bit of cash back & they gave us a friendly briefing on the site then gave us a few options with easy access on where to set up then left us to it. The facilities are excellent, clean at all times & everything was nicely set out. The layout is really nice & but for the bad weather making the ground wet & muddy we would have made use of the excellent dog walking field & other walks close by.
The Rock Inn just down the road was really nice, great food & a nice atmosphere. The road is unlit & we saw a couple walking along the road with torches & hi-viz jackets on heading to the pub. Turns out they were regulars to Waterrow (& The Rock) & were geared up for the short walk. I think Hi-viz gear is massively overused but in this instance it's pretty sensible. Wimbleball Lake is worth a visit with a decent walk around it. The dam is pretty impressive. 5 mins drive away is Pulhams Mill, a craft shop & tea room serving excellent home cooked food.
This is another site we will be happy to return to.

We stayed at Waterrow for 3 nights, during some very wet weather. The staff were lovely and very helpful from the start. I booked online, and despite asking for a grass pitch I was booked onto a hard standing pitch, but the warden showed me to the camping 'field' (actually, it was really a strip of grass towards the back of the main site) and helped me to find the most suitable spot.
The camping area was quite waterlogged in places, and there weren't allocated spaces with hedges and trees for privacy as there was with the caravan/motor home area. But there was EHU and we were very near to a water tap.
The facilities are excellent, the showers had a separate space to hang your things so they didn't get wet, nice and powerful and hot. Toilets and basins also all very clean at all times. There is a washing machine, tumble dryer and pot washing area, again, nice spacious and clean. The highlight for us though was the fact that the facilities were housed within a barn, with two sets of swallow nests with baby swallows which could be viewed via close circuit TV!
I am sure if I was in a caravan or motor home I would give this site a 10, but the tent area seemed a bit of an afterthought (as seems the case quite often it seems) and needs more development.

Only stayed one night at this site, seemed a quiet site but as it rained most of the time we were there didn't get chance to sit out. The pitches are separated by hedges so nice and private
No mobile coverage but there is a pay phone on site.
Small field to walk the dog also there was a river walk but it was very muddy.
The shower and toilet block are excellent
Would stay again if we were in the area
