A nice site with great views. There is noise from the road but this time of year wasn't too bad, although a regular visitor told us the traffic was bad in the summer. Toilet facilities were lovely and clean and were all together in a huge barn, although the gravel path leading to the barn hosting the toilet facilities was rather well trodden down and after some rain became muddy and two huge puddles formed which you had to walk through.
Our pitch was just big enough to accommodate our porch awning, good job it had doors on the side other wise we would of had to struggle past a large bush that the awning was up against. We should of requested another pitch looking back as there were plenty that were empty.
There is a nice dog walk where you can get down to the river. Wellies are a must for this site as it doesn't drain very well.
Would certainly go again as it being an adult only site is nice.

We had a great walking holiday at this quiet child free site. The whole site is very well kept with beautiful gardens, good facilities and friendly owners, There is a lovely walk in the grounds through the wood to the river which we did each day after breakfast. The local pub [rock inn] did great food. The pitches had hardstandings which we think is so pessary for motorhomes having been bogged in on some grass pitches on other campsites. Definitely a site I would recommend to walkers and birdwatchers

Pleasantly located site in a nice peaceful area. Nicely laid out with good pitches and good facilities.
The facilities are located inside an old barn and are kept very clean.
Plenty of walks around the local area and plenty to see with a little driving. It is possible to walk from the site and out to a local nature reserve.
The staff and owners are very pleasant and helpful, this is a site that I would happily return to again.
Good value for money.

Recently spent five days at this beautiful touring park. Facilities were great with very clean toilet and shower blocks cleverly incorporated into a large barn. Pitches were well sized and adequately spaced from neighbouring pitches and had unobstructed views of the beautiful scenery surrounding the site. Both the site wardens and site owners were friendly and knowledgeable about the local and wider area and told us about some great walks which we enjoyed. The site is pet friendly and even has its own dog walking field and river walk. With reference to some of the posts regarding road noise, we found the site to be very peaceful and tranquil (at all times of day and night)and noise from the local road was minimal and certainly didn't affect our stay in any way whatsoever. Will definitely return next year!

This is a very pleasant site, and despite conflicting comments it is, generally speaking tranquil. The adjacent B class road does produce intermittent bursts of noise during the day, but in our experience never at night The noise is occasional and cannot be compared with the noise from children which can be present all day and sometimes in the night. Other advantage of its adult only status is that the lush flowerbeds and shrubbery are untrampled, the dividing hedges are unbroken, and the facilities are not vandalised.

We are regular visitors to this site and have always returned home feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. It is an adult only site which means that it lives up to its reputation of being very tranquil.
The owners and their staff are helpful and friendly making every effort to ensure that everyone enjoys their stay.
The toilet/shower blocks are situated in portable cabins within a large barn next to the reception. They are always very clean, warm and dry with ample hot water. Also within this area there is a washing machine, tumble dryer, and food preparation and dish washing sinks.
The campsite provides hardstanding pitches for caravans and motorhomes and is situated within woodland providing opportunities for walking and observing wildlife. The grounds are always well maintained.
There is no site shop but ready meals are available from Reception. The Rock Inn is a 10 minute walk away providing a good selection of bar meals.

A very well set up site, the toilet, shower and laundry facilities are the best I've seen here or abroad. The grounds are generally beautifully kept (but see camping comments below)
We didn't take our dog but they are well looked after here. We paid the same as the caravan users(£21 per night including electric) which I thought was unfair, it was the most expensive site of any we looked at but the only that answered the phone/returned the messages as we booked last minute,
We felt that the camping areas were much less thought of than the caravan pitches which were well located, landscaped and level.
We were squeezed into a narrow pitch with overhanging trees and nettles and brambles which we had to climb across to get round the tent from the car. This meant the ground was muddy and the pitch only got a couple of hours of sunlight. We had to move the tent onto an empty caravan pitch to dry it out. (Why not rent these pitches to tents when not full? There seemed to be enough grass around many of them to pitch a tent)
There was road noise which seemed to echo around.
We didn't visit the pub which was within easy walking distance.
There are lots of lovely villages nearby.

Beautiful setting, very well tended with very clean and tidy facilities. Lovely idea to have utilised the barn so well.
We had booked a pitch almost 6 months in advance but when we arrived we were allocated different pitch as ours had been given to someone else, only trouble they did not bother to alter the change and they came to see why we were not leaving when in fact it was the other people who were leaving that day
But tranquil it was not it may be adults only but most of the vans during our stay had 2 dogs and one actually had 3 ! and when one barked they all started.
The road is quite busy and noisy when you are sat outside but this did not bother us.
The walk to the pub is quite difficult especially in the dark with no pavements.

This is a well maintained site for adults only. Very clean toilets and showers housed inside a barn. There is zero reception for o2 mobile phones. There is a payphone for a minimum of 20p per call but the notice says you can only call landlines and not mobiles.
We had electric hook up. Short walk to the water and you get a choice of their spring water or mains water and you can taste the difference! There are recycling facilities and you can order newspapers for a delivery charge of 10p plus the paper charge.
On arrival the staff were friendly but did not offer us a choice of pitch. We were directed to one of a double bayed pitch which had no level ground apart from the chippings on which to sit etc.
Having found that our tv aerial was 4m short we approached the owner and suggested that we could just turn our caravan 90 degrees to meet our cable. The reply was a stern no. We had to buy another tv aerial from them.
Other extras were £1 for a walk guide which we were told went to charity but the leaflet states that only 20p goes to charity.
We were due to stay for 3 nights but left after 2 on account of the road noise. We live on a busy main road and are used to road noise. The site is situated off a hill that has a long sweeping bend which is a motorcyclist's delight (we ride bikes). Bikes and other traffic are either accelerating hard or decelerating which is very noisy especially at 5 and 7 o'clock in the morning! There is also a bump in the road which all the tractors and lorries seem to find.
On the plus side, the Bear Inn in nearby Wiveliscombe whilst not the best looking pub serves great pub food and is worth a visit. The town also has a great Butchers, Spar, Post office etc.

Only stayed here for Two nights in February (we rarely stay anywhere longer) but we were quite impressed,it's a great site, very quiet, with good facilities, they're all housed in a big barn. The wardens, although they said they were new to the site were very helpful.
Went to the Pub down the road (take a torch!) it was ok if a bit pricey, £14.00 for steak & kidney pie, went for ham, egg & chips at a tenner, very good.
The bus stop at the gate serves a route from Dulverton to Barnstaple every 2 hour so check timetable
