Bit expensive for what it is. £20 for two nights in a backpacking tent? Nice dude runs it though. Toilet block very basic for the money, 2 toilets and 2 mini sinks to wash in which meant more water went on the floor than in it. Showers a bit grim but usable. That saying liked the area its set in and the local pub so will return.

A quiet basic site, with stunning views. Great walks from the campsite. Richard the owner was very friendly and made everybody welcome. The no frills toilet block was kept clean and tidy and of course lots of hot water. Shower was 20p. Will most certainly go again.

The view of Froggat edge from this campsite is amazing & we would have stayed just for that! The owner, Olive is 92 and she still makes regular appearances although her son Richard now manages the site for her. The site is situated down a well surfaced but narrow lane which is well-lit at night. It only takes 10-15 minutes to walk into Calver where there are two pubs & a Spar Shop. Another pub, the Bridge Inn - which only does Tapas - is at the entrance to the lane to the farm. The pitching area is bowl shaped with slightly sloping sides so chocks are helpful. The grass was nice and short & there was room for children to play in the centre. There are a number of static vans here and the owners who were visiting were very friendly & a mine of useful information. Richard was also very helpful & knowledgeable, especially about the hiking options nearby.

The toilet block is basic but clean. Richard has uploaded very fair photos on this site which show them as they are. The shower cubicle in each has a shower curtain, then another curtain pulls across the area outside to afford privacy while undressing/dressing. The shower costs 20p for 6 minutes so take some 20ps with you.

Charcoal barbecues are allowed.

Drinking water is piped to a tap via a spring that the family has used for over 80 years (and it hasn't done Olive any harm!) We were charged £15 a night for our camper van which was a fair price.

We really enjoyed staying at this quirky friendly site and will be back.

This site has quite basic facilities, but a stunning location. The views from the site mean that you don't want to wander far, but there are a couple of pubs and shops at walking distance. The owner was very friendly and helpful.

Had an amazing stay at this campsite - yes basic, however, very reasonably priced and facilities clean. Richard the owner was a fountain of knowledge on the history of the local area. He recommended a walk and gave us directions. He even took my husband in his car to the different places on route where we may have gone wrong. Absolutely stunning views and the walk along 'the edge' is highly recommended. We will definitely be back - Thank you

A campsite that serves its purpose. This a good basic campsite with showers, a toilets and a fresh water supply at a reasonable price. It is not a luxury resort with swimming pool and elaborate facilities.

I would not use it for an extended stay.

We'd like to confirm that after a few years without, this site does now accept tents again, as well as touring caravans and motorhomes.

Amazing cheap little site (£6 for 2 people in 5 man tent) with small river running along edge of tent area, beautiful surroundings with plenty of places to walk along river and sights to see along the way, old traditional pub 2 min walk away, local shops 3 min drive, local butcher 6 min drive.

Toilet & Shower block old and basic but kept very clean and tidy! Make sure you turn the Mains power on before you put your 20p in coin meter or you'll stay smelly!

On our visit we saw nesting swallows and some ducks, we were cooking our mushrooms and bacon a cheeky little duck tried to have a quick nibble!

The very friendly old woman who owns the site gave us a warm welcome when we arrived late, very helpful let us charge our phone in the barn and happy to refund our lost 20p's!

This site was perfect for us as a family with three small children. They loved playing on the rope swing and with the other kids. A really safe environment, nicely enclosed.

Restricted numbers make it a small intimate site. Lovely location with beautiful nearby walks and craft shop and cafe short walk up the drive. The shower and toilet are very basic, functional but diligently cleaned.

The owner really made it for us with her true sense of friendly hospitality. Want to return many times. In the heart of the Peaks with many nearby visitor attractions. Good central location.

The site was over crowded, and the toilet block and shower were pretty grim - Although they were cleaned by the owner, the floor was washed with water - the shower and toilets were left untouched. I had to clean the shower before I showered my children and with the remainder of the cleaner I'd bought, cleaned the toilets (as my boys weren't happy about the smell).

Also, I felt very uncomfortable with the shower curtain as privacy when having a shower.

An whilst it is nice to have a towel in my own toilet, I don't think it is hygienic to have one (changed once a day) on a busy campsite - nor a bar of soap for that matter.

Yes, the site was cheap - we paid £9 for a four man with an awning, I don't agree with the site not having a proper pricing structure.

The location was fab, but it had too many people, and the showers / toilets need a serious upgrade.
