My grown up son and I stayed here for 3 nights in the middle of August. The site is in a beautiful setting, exceptionally close to excellent walking and climbing.

Tucked away from the main road with no road noise and a definite feeling of being in tune with nature.

It is a small site with very little truly flat space on which to pitch and with the most basic of facilities by way of a two gents toilets and two sinks that can't be used simultaneously and one shower which runs on 20p for 6 minutes (good temperature and pressure). I assume the women's facilities were likewise.

There are a handful of long term pitches occupied by 'vans and the rest of the site was clearly popular with camper vans. Probably about 20 pitches in total. Worth it for a few nights but no longer. We were over a weekend and the clientele were very considerate and friendly.

This campsite reminds me of family holidays way back in the 1970s, in a good way.

The facilities are very modest, but clean enough and the showers are good and hot. A washing up sink would be handy, but I can live without it for a couple of days.

Most importantly, the site is in a beautiful spot, It is well away from traffic noise and other irritations, and the only sound was happy children enjoying themselves.

I am reluctant to give this site 10 out of 10 because he will only encourage everyone else to come here, but in justice I can give it nothing less.

I wish I had found this site before, Instead of the far more expensive place I have been staying just up the road.

On our arrival we were met by Richard a charming and welcoming man a bit hard of hearing, a pleasant surprise after reading some other reviews.

Richard showed us to our pitch quite steep so please take extra ramps.

A lovely and peaceful spot in the Derbyshire countryside.

The entrance road is quite tight so slow and steady is the rule I think !

We have one negative which is the toilet block, it needs a good clean, a link of paint on the inside and maybe some kind of cubicle around the shower and then both toilets can be used at the same time (sounds confusing but you will understand when and if you stay here )

Overall we would definitely come back here.

Oh one last thing 20p for a shower come on Richard we are in 2021 !

Great location for walks, 2-3 pubs within easy reach on foot depending on you requirements.

Site is a field with a basic toilet block, 20p for the shower. Hot water.

The site is basic but its cheap, clean and in a good location. If you want bells and whistles go elsewhere. The owner is friendly, don't be out off by his shouting. He can't hear.

Overall great. We will be visiting again!

Good points:Lovely location for walks etc. Short clean grass, spacious area not overcrowded, plenty hot water. Very quiet at night. Dogs must be on a lead

Less good points: bathrooms are not cleaned daily as the bins were overflowing, dirty floors and toilets ran out of toilet paper. Nowhere to wash your pots.

A shame as the "less good points" and VFM could so easily be rectified by a 30 minute daily check and clean and the installation of an outside sink.

Great location with access to many local walking and climbing areas.

Very basic and outdated facilities - but ideal for a night or two.

2 pubs within walking distance

Campsite was lovely and peace full.

However shower/toilet facilities very basic and needed a spring clean. Shower wasn’t working, so had to use the men’s.

Hopefully it will get fixed soon.

I would revisit, good value for a budget campsite.

The site is in an excellent position to enjoy lots of walking for different abilities.

A short distance from local facilities which include a pub, cafe/restaurant and gift shop.

A well tended grass field with some pitches gently sloping.

Two toilet cubicles and one shower each for ladies and gents. Wash-up in your own tent or van.

 Pleasantly situated campsite.

£20 per night inc EHU. Decent enough pitch for motorhome being flat and with nice views. Remainder of pitches would probably require levelling blocks.

Toilets available with a shower, (20p for 6 mins), though the toilet block could do with a good clean.

Bridge pub just down the road did a decent pint and food was OK without being stunning.

Great location for walking with Froggatt edge just above and Bakewell only 8 mile away through Chatsworth Grounds.
