Brilliant site, always very clean and tidy and the shop a Godsend.
Had a lovely walk to nearby village. Weather nice and warm. Our dog sat in the stream on the way back to cool down.
Owners and visitors very friendly and even met someone from close to home.
Lovely to hear the local church bells.

We have just spent a week here over the half term break. We were very lucky with the weather!
A beautiful site - spectacular views and a wonderfully friendly welcome. This is the first site I have been to where we were offered a cuppa as we arrived following a long journey.
The pitches are immaculate and all have wonderful sea views. It is a very peaceful site, despite being busy for the time of year.
Facitlities are brilliant - the best shower blocks I have experienced.
The shop is very well stocked - they even baked a loaf especially for us when we arrived back late one day - we enjoyed services above and beyond the call of duty!
I would thoroughly recommend this site - I cannot fault it in any way, depsite some pretty windy nights (!) and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys peace and natural beauty. There is so much to do in the surrounding area that we ran out of time before we ran out of things to do!
We will definitely return to Damage Barton - probably the best site we have stayed at.
We will return to work the better for having spent a week at Damage Barton.

Had to join C & CC on arrival and was offered a hot drink whilst I filled out the form. Good information point with lots of leaflets in the reception area. Small onsite shop selling the basics along with surf style clothing and crocs shoes.
The toilet block is immaculate and always clean. Always plenty of hot water and no queues even though this was in school hols. Separate family bathrooms.
Dishwash also kept clean, again always hot water available and enough sinks all with double drainers.
Very spacious pitches all clearly marked. Prices reasonable even after joining fee. Good recycling facilities and wetsuit wash.
We booked for 7 nights and for the first time ever came home after 5 nights. This wasn't due to anything wrong with this site - it was the weather. As mentioned previously when the wind blows here watch out! We returned after going out one day to find our awning leaning precariously to one side and someone had kindly banged in a couple of extra pegs for us. Definately recommend delta anchors here. Think thats what stopped us blowing away. A tent 2 pitches away had snapped all its metal poles! Also where we'd had so much rain, the water didn't seem to drain away. Stepping out into the awning each morning, the water would ooze up over your feet- they don't like you using groundsheets unless the are breathable.
Would definitely return here if the weather was guaranteed to be good. Although Woolacombe/Morthoe always gets the better of me, so will probably be back soon. Great chip shop, coffee shop and pasty shop only ahort drive away in Woolacombe. Good pubs serving food closer to site.

Had a great weekend at this site. The coastal views were lovely which was helped by a sunny weekend.
Good walks for the family/dog,took about 2 hrs to walk from the site to the lighthouse, and then along the coastal path to Mortehoe Point and Mortehoe.
Had a good lunch time meal and real ale at the Chichester in Mortehoe, followed by a forty five minute walk back to the site.
The site itself was well kept and staff were friendly, the only downside for us was the lack of any childrens playground other than an open field.

Excellent site, spacious pitch and good facilities. Lovely walks to the villages of Lee and Mortehoe where you will find pubs and tea rooms to quench your thirst! Only stayed three nights but we would certainly go back and stay longer as this is such a lovely area to visit. Highly recommended.

Very pretty site, very clean, great shop and spectacular views of the Bristol Channel and the Welsh coastline. For the first 24 hours we thought it was one of the best sites we have ever visited until the winds arrived. They came overland from Exmoor and only seemed to effect the middle of the site. The toilets and shop were calm, the very bottom of the field was calm, the surrounding area of North Devon was beautiful but the middle rows of pitches were battered 24 hours a day - we all had sleepless nights and snapped poles. We tried moving to a more sheltered pitch but couldn't escape it using those available (the pitches at the top of the field are for caravans). I would love to go there again, but not in a tent. Sorry Damage Barton.

Lovely site, unfortunately we couldn't have chosen a worse day to stay, high winds and torrential rain. However, we found the site clean, the toilets/showers were immaculate, with plenty of hot water. The on site shop baked it's own pasties and bread and was well stocked with essentials. Will definitely be returning.

A very friendly site, during some very brutal weather the caravanners constantly checked that we were ok, a real community with a community shop to boot! The views and walks are excellent and are easy enough for most people, loads of wildflowers skylarks and other birds Fish and chips at Illfracombe are very good

Don't tell anyone, but this is a great site. The best and cleanest shower facilities I have come across in this country, no coins or tokens just endless fast flowing hot water and a separate area for rinsing wet-suits etc. No club or bar (thank goodness) or in fact any other facilities apart from a fantastic on site family run shop which is like a tardis, how he manages to stock the range of goods in that small space is beyond me. Great fresh pastries and pasties cooked on site daily. A fine range in bottled St. Austell Breweries beer and also latest Saltrock surf fashion at very good prices. The site is very exposed to the wind (impossible to pitch the tent on day 1) but has as a consequence fantastic views of the sea and sunsets. A good starting point for a various walks along the coast. We'll be back!

Excellent site with great walks from the site. The Staff are very helpful and the shop is very reasonably priced. It can be quite windy if you are out in the open but the views are fantastic especially at sunset. The toilets and showers were spotless with plenty of hot water and a family room with a bath for children. The nearest Pub is in Morthoe. We walked to Woolacombe via Mortoe and returned via Twitcham. This walk was along the Donkey path where you could look out across the bay, and a couple of seats for a welcome rest. The beach at Woolacombe had golden sand with rides for small children. Also lots of places to get something to eat. Bus service operates Monday to Saturday. We are looking forward to our next visit.
