Camping with three young children can always be a bit hit and miss, but my three aged 6, 4 and 18 months had a great time at this campsite.

The shower blocks and facilities are very family friendly, with a family bathroom with a bath!, lots of hot showers and all extremely clean.

No where on the site is too far from the facilities and the children (even the 18 month old) enjoyed the short walk up to the shower block.

The shop is well stocked and has fresh pastries etc in the morning, and is reasonably priced. The fish van coming twice a week was also a nice touch, stocking a wide range of fish ready to be cooked on the bbq.

The staff are all very helpful and friendly and can offer lots of advice about local attractions, local walks and places to visit. A particular favourite of ours was the walk down to Lee Bay and the rock pools, which the children all found to be a great adventure.

Although on our visit the weather was not great, this did not prevent us from having a great week and we will certainly be visiting again!

What can we say a wonderful site, the best we have been to. Excellent greeting on arrival, very helpful reception with lots of local information. Excellent large gravelled pitches. We had our own tap and drainage.

Toilet block very clean and warm. When these were cleaned there was the other block to use. Showers free and nice and hot and stayed on as long as you wanted them to. Veg prep room so clean each sink had its own clean cloth. Within the building sink for laundry washing, also washer, dryer and iron with board. Chemical waste very clean. Shop very good but don't mention Tesco (just 6 miles up the road), well stocked and friendly shopkeeper.

Pitches all raked and grass edges cut on departure and arrival. Excellent recycling facilities. We were told that if it was windy it was windy - and yes it was.

Beautiful site overlooking the sea. There is a footpath which takes you to Morthoe where there are a couple of pubs, good chippy and then you can walk further into Woolacombe.

Despite having a lot of rain and wind we will be returning next year. We took our cycles, there are some good rides, and very steep hills, all added to the fun!

Never saw any children on site no facilities for them as such. I think this is more an adult site although there is a picnic area and kite area - yes we took the kite too and it was good with the winds!. There are also 2 dog walking areas.

ll the staff were brilliant. What a lovely site would definitely recommend.

So good to be back at this site. Even with the bad weather we had, we still loved this site.

Views were magnificent, everyone friendly, facilities spotless, shop well stocked, lovely base to explore the local area. It was such a pleasant haven to arrive at after a trip to a dodgy site in Cornwall. !

There is lots to see locally but unless you want hiking walks, you do need access to transport and a bus stops just outside the site. If the weather is windy, it can make for an interesting stay. I don't think it's a great site for children though, but we don't have children so maybe I'm not the best judge of this.

We cannot highly recommend this site enough.

The site was lovely, spacious, friendly, with a well stocked shop and very good and clean showerblock and toilet facilities - even somewhere to rinse off wetsuits - and always plenty of staff around if you needed them.

We had a hardstanding with electric hookup and fresh water tap just behind our vehicle. The grounds were kept immaculate and security was good.

Unfortunately the weather took a turn for the worse during our visit, so as we were on the cliffs the wind was particularly strong and one day the mist hardly lifted.

Otherwise we could not fault the location. Having parked the motorhome we took buses from the site entrance into Woolacombe and Ilfracombe and walked twice into Mortehoe, which seemed a bit farther away than it looked on the map.

Other than that a great place to enjoy the peace and quiet of the Devon countryside. We had no children with us, though I am sure the site is child friendly though without playground facilities.

We visited here during the School summer holidays. The camp site had a great family feel. Unfortunately we had a week of bad weather so the views were few and far between until the last day! It is a very open site so we were open to the elements which did rip our awning a bit! The shower blocks were kept clean though 1 was a bit tired looking! The on site shop was well stocked and the couple running it were very friendly and helpful. Perfectly situated for Woolacombe, Ilfracombe and visiting Lundy Island. Which I highly recommend! I would definitely visit this site again and can recommend it.

 What a wonderful site!

We had read all the reviews posted and were somewhat nervous because of all the comments about wind. We need not have been concerned. Yes this is a windy site but in our two weeks there (in the middle of the camping field) we had calm days, and on the days it was windy it was no worse than on other sites.

We have three children and they enjoyed the recreation area - there is no play equipment. Not a problem for us as we like the quieter site that this is - if you want the kind of site where you can make a noise until 1am in the morning this site is not for you!

The grounds were immaculate, and the showers some of the best we have ever experienced. Even at the height of the holiday season we never queued for showers, and they were always spotless.

The on site shop is the best we have been to - perhaps slightly on the expensive side, but you are getting fresh local food and the morning pastries are delicious.

The information centre is well stocked and the welcome was warm - not over the top or in your face, but what we wanted from our holiday.

The views from every pitch are simply amazing - watching the sun go down over the sea nd the welsh coast was a daily treat!

The area too is beautiful - on many days we walked to the beaches (yes there is a choice within walking distance) and left the car at home. The beaches are beautiful - we personally liked Barricne, adjacent to Woolacombe as it offered sand, shells and rockpools as well as a delightful cafe on the beach.

There is loads to do - we didn't run out of things to do in 2 weeks. Overall, a brilliant stay - we can't recommend it highly enough and can't wait until next year when we will be back!

We have just had a week here on our way back up from Cornwall, booked a little late after finding other sites full, so wasn't sure what to expect.

We arrived mid afternoon on Saturday to a warm welcome, after a short chat in reception we followed the map to our pitch which was hardstanding but had two concrete sections to give level parking.

The pitch was a nice size, plenty of room for van and awning and with a water tap, but the ground was too hard for our pegs.

It was at this point we discovered the shop, a variety of goods at reasonable prices, local produce and a good supply of rock pegs.

Once set up we toured the site, fantastic views and all areas clean and tidy, grass neatly mown and edges trimmed.

The toilet blocks also got a ten rating, very clean with great showers that you adjust yourself. Washing up and laundry facilities also great with sinks having double drainers.

The coastal path is well signed and fantastic for walking to local villages and towns, for swimming woolacombe beach is only a short drive and parking is plentiful with reasonable prices.

I would have no hesitation in recommending this site and even my wife, who likes to try a new place even trip said she would like to return.

The local roads do need a little care when towing as they narrow in places and have some sharp bends, but it is well worth the effort as it really is a brilliant site.

The facilities were fantastic - spotlessly clean, lots of hot water, even a family bathroom for families with children under 10. Quiet site, friendly team, everything beautifully maintained.

Good shop selling everything we could have ever wanted & reception has a good charity book exchange. Great walks from the site towards Woolacombe or Ilfracombe - lots to see & do, with good bus links along the road at the top of the site.

Don't be put of by the rows of caravans, look past them to the huge view out to see & remember how close you are to the coast path!

Two adults & a dog, so couldn't comment on children's facilities, but there is so much to do, including farm tractor tours.

Hope to return soon.

 Bliss

Nothing to add, but apparently I need more characters. At least 500?

The site is a bit out of the way but is serviced by an hourly bus which does get a bit full if you're heading back from Woolacombe in the afternoon.

That said there's not much to fault this site, it is 'spotless' the views are to die for and the staff fantastic.

The shop is brilliant as well, does some nice pastries (pain o chocolate to die for) fresh baked.

Excellent site, with beautiful views from each pitch, even when the site is busy. The site is kept spotlessly clean and there is a lovely big area for walking the dog. Excellent walks from the site which can help avoid the very narrow roads down to some of the villages by the sea.

A short walk across the fields into Mortehoe gives you access to three pubs, a tea shop, fish and chips and other village shops. The little museum is also well worth a visit on a rainy day.

Be prepared for poor weather at times, being right on the coast. You will definitely need storm straps if using an awning!
