Have just returned from not camping at this site. The site looked lovely, spacious and clean, with fantastic views and friendly and helpful staff. But a word of warning for those in tents - this site is exposed and consequently can be VERY windy. We booked to stay for two nights however on arrival realised we would never get the tent up as the wind was so strong. The only other tent had gone home that morning as their poles had snapped. I was informed, when I enquired on leaving that it could be 'breezy' at any time of the year. This is a beautiful site, but more of a risk for those in tents if you've travelled a long distance to get there and no refund is given (!)

Good site. Fabulous views out to the sea. We went in March and the site was very quiet, I would imagine in high season it is very popular so we would prefer to use it in low season. Clean showers and loo's. Great little on site shop with friendly owner, hubby even bought a pair of "crocs" shoes from there - excellent value. The site is in a great area for touring north Devon, Ifracombe is a short drive away, as is Woolacombe - be aware the parking for the beach is extortionate (even in March they wanted £3.50 to park) we refused and drove on to Saunton Sands and paid £2, still a rip off though!

We didn't actually stay on this site - unfortunately we were on a neighbouring site - but we poked our nose in and were made very welcome by the owners who invited us to look around at leisure. We were extremely impressed with the stunning views available to all, what a sight to open the blinds to first thing in the morning. Lots of spacious pitches, excellent facilities kept in immaculate order. We were also impressed with how the owners had made such efforts to provide information of local events and local points of interest. This site is run with a passion, we will definitely be paying a visit soon.

Lovely site with great views over to wales. Toilet/shower block was immaculate and the campsite shop was well stocked with local produce. Mortehoe is about a 20 minute walk away via a footpath through the fields and Easewell park. The staff were very helpful and friendly. There was no park for the kids to play in but they just played around the tent. There was plenty of space and the site traffic was minimal sticking to the 5mph speed limit. Only people actually staying in the site could enter due to an automatic barrier with a number to open it. Nice and quiet at night. We tried to rebook for August but it was full, highly recommended

This is a fantastic site, the panoramic views of the sea are excellent. There is so much you can do with out having to take the car, coastal footpaths to enjoy and there are cycle routes such as the Tarka trail and plenty of quiet roads. For those with young children it depends on what they like, if you want a beach then there are plenty of larger and far busier sites that we looked at near Woolacombe. You couldn't fault the facilities they were 4****, we have been spoilt, the trouble is you expect this at other sites!

August 2005 Excellent site run by very friendly people with excellent washing / shower / toilet facilities. We hope we'll be going again.
On the downside for those with young families, there's nothing actually on site for young children to do; there are some very interesting rocky coves a long (but very nice!) walk away and there are no cycle paths near enough to get the kids to - so you will need to use the car to get to the sandy beaches (and into the surf) of Woolacombe itself.

August 2005 A highly recommended site, views across the sea to Swansea on a clear night are really lovely. Is as described by previous campers with one addition, if you are lucky to have a glorious day and go to Woolacombe beach, go early as traffic into town gets rather heavy. Also advise a trip to Lee Bay just around the corner very quiet and quaint.

July 2005 Returned last week from this marvellous site, what can one say, we keep on returning, the family are so welcoming, the shower block is superb, lovely walks, pleny of places to eat, this time we went to the animal park at Combe Haven, well worth visiting, cannot speak highly enough of this site, we will return

June 2005 We are very very pleased with this site. It's very clean, very quite and the view is just gorgeous. The new shower block is great, it also has a place for you to wash your wet suit. The staff (also the owners) are really friendly. What a difference as compared to some of those holiday parcs around the area. If those holiday parcs are rated 4 stars, I would rate this 6 stars (in a scale of 1 to 5 stars!)

May 2005 Recommend this site. Well located site close to beaches, facilities in excellent order and staff helpful and friendly. Good shop with takeway options (including full English Breakfast..) but plenty of space to run it off! Separate area for dog walking, area for picnicing and kite flying, which is easy given that the site is on the North Devon coast so it does get windy. Would benefit from something for the kids (6&4) to play on but the absence of that will not stop us returning.
