A beautifully situated site at the head of the loch. Walkable to all facilities in Dunvegan, including castle and 2 churches, pubs and tea rooms.

The owner was very friendly and provided maps, tour guides etc. We found it useful to arrive at a reserved named pitch, when reception was closed

I thought the mens' showers were a bit tight with strange door/curtain arrangement (I'm not big). My wife said the ladies were fine. The site was busy over the Easter break but the facilities were not stretched.

Skye and it's people are wonderful.

I can fully recommend this site.

Lovely site as per other reviews. Very friendly, warden left us to pay on departure 'pay me when you've had enough'-fantastic attitude ans extremely helpful.

Toilets/showers always immaculate and site is in a lovely location. Great as a base to explore Skye and also as a location to chill.

We experienced fairly hefty winds two nights- winds coming off the sea, two nights winds from the opposite direction-but site offers some protection and no damage to any tents pitched on the site. Highly recommended.

Ground did get a bit wet underfoot after very heavy rain, but I think most of Skye has peat like soil-so I don't think anywhere else would be better.

What can be said about this site, fantastic, the gent who seem to be there 24 hours a day, was very friendly and help full.

Site had great facilities from very clean showers, toilets to a washing drying room. Dish washing area was extremely clean despite the site being really really busy.

Shops in village very well stocked with most things needed. Pitches were well maintained.

Only down site was a tent with no respect for other site users, perhaps in busy periods tents should be shown where to pitch as we were out for the day when he pitched his directly in front of us!

Overall a great site even in driving rain and August wind.

Fantastic site! A friend advised us to go, he'd planned to stay for 2 nights and stayed for 8 he loved it that much. We only had time to stay for two nights but we definitely could've stayed for longer!

Firstly, the gentleman that welcomed us was very cheery and friendly and I believe originally from Uist - it was so nice to hear a such a warm Scottish Hebridean accent on arrival. He was quite relaxed and told us to help ourselves to a pitch wherever we fancied and we were really pleased with the pitch we found - MacLeods Tables to the left, sea to the front and the village to the right = fantastic!

The loo, showers and dishwashing areas were clean and spacious, there were no major queues and the hot water never seemed to run out either! What I did notice however was the smell from the overflow at peak times - but it really isn't unbearable.

We took the drive up to Neist point and sat at the top of the cliffs watching a whale between us and the Outer Hebrides beyond, with the sound and sight of many different seabirds. Although the walk to the lighthouse is not suitable for those with pushchairs or those with difficulty walking it's worth it if you can - but you might be out of puff at the top!

Portree doesn't take too long from the campsite either and it's lovely, don't arrive between 3pm and 5pm or you'll struggle to find something to sit down and eat but if you're brave enough to eat a fish supper outside while dodging seagulls then they're worth it too!

The sunsets from the entrance to the site are really quite something. We loved it and yes we will definitely return!

Wonderful site, great location and staff who can't do enough to help. I would definitely recommend this site. I've now been twice and not been disappointed.

The views over Loch Dunvegan were fantastic and some of the sunsets were spectacular. Quiet and very friendly. We loved it. Owner bent over backwards to accommodate us when we turned up needing not only power hookup, but space for an awning as well.

He also provided an air compressor to blow up my soft tyre. No on-site shop, but a short walk out to the small town and there's a shop, and a couple of restaurants.

We loved this site. A little rough around the edges but views and sunsets to die for. We had a lovely pitch looking straight up the loch. The wardens very friendly and helpful. The toilet blocks very small, basic and dated but clean. The village is a short walk away and had pubs and restaurants and a few shops. We ate at The Old Schoolhouse, they do a great Sunday roast. Would recommend this site.

Beautiful Site in an great spot on Skye. Facilities spotless everything catered for even a communal washing line.

We have never experienced sunsets like these! Nothing is too much trouble the owner is great & very friendly.

The hill up to the site is not to be taken lightly, sign saying 1st gear means 1st gear!ideal base for exploring Skye,

The coral beach is amazing well worth the walk(not too difficult)Neist point is also stunning (not so easy) Dunvegan castle & seal boat trips are well worth the reasonable charge.

We were the first to see the first born seal pup of the season a week early, beautiful!

Fantastic village bakery just outside site. Bacon rolls were brill

Lovely, I wouldn't change a thing. It blew a gale & chucked it down with rain but still didn't spoil the view.

Facilities were spotless & well considered (eg shower curtains inside the cubicle, we stayed on another site where there was no where dry to leave clothes when showering.).

Customer service was excellent, told to camp where we fancied (views were so good that the husband & I spent a few minutes debating the direction to pitch). Warden checked if we wanted to borrow any books, recharge our phones, re-freeze ice packs & checked that we'd got an idea what we were going to do etc.

What a find! Lovely, quiet, well-run campsite. Owners & staff friendly and helpful, lending us some walking books on arrival & even mended our table!

Excellent facilities - always clean and water always hot, no problems with hook-ups - extended leads available if needed. We stayed 5 nights and if work had permitted would have stayed another 5 - hope to come back later in the year & if not definitely next year.

The views are incredible, Dunvegan is a lovely little village & has everything you could need (if you want more choice stop at the supermarket in Broadford on the way through), dog walking literally just through the gate & onto the loch shore.

We really can't praise Kinloch highly enough, it's so peaceful you relax immediately. Thank you for a lovely week - the weather was pretty good too!

A stunning site and well organised but not over regimented. We weren't all parked in straight lines! The facilities were clean and well looked after. Even an outdoor communal washing line with pegs to dry clothes/towels in the breeze. The views across the loch are stunning.

Stayed three nights mid week and found plenty to do. Dunvegan is busy. Cycled up to the Castle (which also has a gift shop - of course - and a pretty good cafe) and further on down the lane to the coral beach. Took the 25 minute boat trip out from the castle to see the seals - always wonder who is watching who! Also saw dolphins / porpoises from the shore and when we told the lady in the TIC she wrote it on the 'Sitings Board'.

Had supper one night at the Old School House, which was very good and is in easy walking distance of the campsite. Had lunch at the Three Chimneys, which isn't in walking distance but the taxi both ways cost £20 for the round trip. The Three Chimneys IS as good as everyone will tell you and not ridiculously expensive.

Visited Skyeskyns for a couple of sheep skin rugs. Everyone there was very friendly although our 'van took up most of their car park and the single track road with passing places didn't encourage us to explore further.

Skye is lovely, Kinloch Campsite is the icing on the cake.
