This is my favourite campsite so far. Very reasonably priced and the owner is just so friendly and helpful. I had visited in 2006 and nothing has changed, it's a s good as it ever was.

It is a hilly site but with lots of level areas for pitching. Some of the pitches are quite secluded, behind little hillocks or round corners behind a hedge.

The view out over the water is beautiful, with the mountains in the background and a low mist so just their tops were peeking out and the sun setting it was a perfect end to every evening.

There is a standpipe with drinking water at the top of the hill in the tent area, so you don't have to walk all the way to the block to fill the kettle as well.

The free showers were immacuately kept and plenty of hot water, well set out, with a small changing area before the cubicle itself. The toilets and handbasins are in a separate room which is nice.

The dishwashing area is great, with 6 sinks there was no hanging around.

We never used the laundry facilities so cant comment on them.

I never saw any playground facilities, but my toddler just loves animals and was happy to watch the ducks, sheep and cows in neighbouring fields when we were on site.

The drive to Neist Point is well worth the effort - single track, twisty and steep in places, but the view over the sea to the Western Isles is amazing.

Very welcoming, friendly, easy-going and helpful staff. The setting is lovely and we were told we could pitch 'anywhere'. Maybe if it had been during a busy time of year, this might not have been the case, but this laid-back approach was nice. The toilet block is good and clean. Good facilities for washing up and washing clothes, too. We have two dogs who were also camping and there are quiet places you can walk them around the sites.

In Dunvegan there are a few shops, a garage and a post office. The Dunvegan Hotel was OK for a meal, but nothing outstanding. If you want a REAL treat, there's The Old School House Restaurant ( booking is essential, it's very popular it seems !) The food was outstanding and the staff very helpful and friendly.

On the little 'receipt', slip of paper, we got when we'd paid for our nights' stay at the site, under 'Rules and Regulations' it said only : Enjoy your stay ! Which we did, very much so.

 Great little site.

Owners very helpful and friendly, even when we arrived on one of the busiest summer days and personally showed us to our pitch and location of all the facilities. Toilets and showers spotless.

Nice views and good base for visiting the island.

Shops only minutes walk away with reasonable choice. Definitely one to recommend, hope to return soon.

Just returned from 5 nights on this site. The site is brilliant, well run and very friendly ( let us borrow a gas regulator as ours was leaking).

The village is really handy to walk to and has 3 shops, a Post Office and a couple of cafe/shops. The Misty Isle Hotel let us take the dog into the public bar on a wet midgy evening and made us welcome. Dunvegan Castle is a really good place to visit.

Plenty of dog walks, along the beach and along the road.

Great location for exploring Skye - Local amenities nearby inc bakery, grocers and garage. Would recommend 'The Old School' restaurant, excellent food and service - booking advisable. Janns cake shop looks impressive but the cakes are a little overated and pretty expensive.

We stayed in a tent, not too many level pitches available, excellent views and the guy who runs it is really helpful. No shop on site so remember to buy milk locally for that all important cuppa.

Main criticism the facilities ie shower block and toilets need to be updated, only one hairdryer in the ladies showers! A new roof would be recommended as its not exactly water tight when is p***ing down. The facilities are however very clean, despite the gathering of spiders above the entrance door!

The wonderful sunsets and spectacular views throughout Skye are breathtaking, well worth a visit.

PS: bring your waterproofs

Stayed here towards the end of July. Been here before and would definitely use it again. It has nice views along the adjacent sea loch.

The guy who runs the site is very helpful and friendly.

The facilities were clean - although beware, they close for a set period during the day for cleaning.

The site is close to a shop, pub, cafe and petrol station. Although the pump prices were the most I've paid for petrol in a long time!

Nice little site. We arrived on spec and the manager could not have been any more helpful, I hoped for three nights but they could only give us 2. Not their fault the site is very popular. The facilities are quite basic but very clean, the guys in charge are very nice and eager to help and offer advice. The views are breathtaking.

I would recommend a visit to Neist point (just along the road from the site). Not only good for fishing but the kids and I got some close up views of Minke whales as the swam past 20ft off shore. The giant MaCaskill museum in Dunvagen is also worth poping into, the owner is a very friendly guy who it turns out is not only related to the giant but also Danny MaCaskill's dad (see you tube).

This is a great site with good facilities.

Staff were helpful and friendly.

We were pitched with wonderful sea views and relaxed as soon as we got sorted out. Quite windy when we were there, but maybe this kept the midges away.

Had a meal at the Old School restaurant in the village, which was very good. The castle was well worth a visit, too.

Good site for exploring Skye.

Lar views from the head of Dunvegan Loch? Clean showers and toilet blocks with a well run site and helpful owner? Plenty to do if you're active or just want to tour round? We spent 4 nights here earlier in the month with our motorhome and came away very impressed.

We had a pitch right on the edge of the Loch with fabulous views and, as we didn't move the van were able to retain it for all our stay. If you go off site, you really need to reserve your preferred spot or someone will have it.

With shops, pubs & restaurants in nearby Dunvegan, getting supplies was no problem. The wonderful Three Chimneys restaurant is ~4 miles away and taxis can be arranged easily ( but you must book well in advance)

The number of hook ups might be limited in high season so at least a phone call then to check out availability is probably worthwhile.

Stayed here just over 1 week, staff were friendly and helpful, site is well maintained, as are the facilities, toilets and showers were always clean, good supplies of hot water in both.

Site is sloping, with some level spots, well drained, and has a really excellent view across and down the loch.

About 10 mins walk takes you into Dunvegan, excellent bakery/cafe at the end of the lane, with take away food, hot and cold, the bread and cakes are really good! The Cellar bar in the village allows dogs which is good.
The site is about 10 mins drive from Dunvegan Castle, family seat of the Clan McCleod, well worth a visit, and there are lots of walks in the area. If you are an angler, there are a lot of rivers, lochs etc and there is tackle available in Dunvegan, and locals are always ready to give advice on the 'best' spots.
