Visited the site with 2 other couples. Views were stunning. The weather was wet and gale force but it did not deter us, we survived the weather for seven days. The owner and friends who meet at reception are excellent, helped to make our stay very enjoyable, especially at night whilst having a wee dram with them. We found the owner was very helpful with all situations. We have never before found such a relaxed site. Facilities very clean constant hot water in showers. Great cooking shelter which we used when weather wet on an evening also good place to meet fellow campers. The village is 10 minute walk away has well stocked shops, the bakery is also the fish and chip shop food is good but do not rely on their opening hours. Janns cakes and the fruit and nut shop worth a visit. We had a meal at the old school house restaurant which we highly recommend though booking is advisable. The cellar bar at the Dunvegan hotel allows dogs. Our overall view, despite the weather, was a brilliant site definitely worth another visit.

This is the best site we have used so far. The facilities were excellent, the location and aspect superb, the prices reasonable and, most of all, the staff were nice, friendly and helpful. Everything about the place smacks of courtesy and consideration. The showers and wash basins are located in a separate room from the WCs, which is a nice touch. The views of McLeod's Tables and Loch Dunvegan are stunning, especially at sunset. The site's location is good for most of Skye's attractions, but it is a large island and unless you are aiming to stay in one place, you'll rack up the mileage. If you have children, don't miss a walk to the Fairy Pools at Coire na Creche, off the road to Glenbrittle.

I arrived at 6pm on a wet & windy Saturday night. I was welcomed into the reception and after a discussion I was advised of the best place to pitch the tent and park my motorbike. The site owner was very helpful & even offered to charge my mobile free of charge. The toilet block was spotlessly clean, despite the heavy rain and the site was immaculate. Beautiful views across the bay, fantastic site for getting away from the hustle & bustle of life. I hope to be able to go back there one day soon.

Fantastic location with amazing views.
Campsite full of characters which made for a good holiday.
Very friendly site and town also very friendly.
Look out for Zeus (the cat - very friendly)!
Toilet block clean enough but not caravan club standard by any means!
Showers - 4 or 5 of them for women - don't know about men. Shower curtain/door had us very confused!
Pitch requires rock pegs.
Town has restaurants, health clinic, pubs/hotels, post office, petrol garage, bakery and general convenience store.
Good location for visiting the other parts of the island.
Can really recommend this site for a quiet and relaxing holiday.

Campsite set in beautiful surroundings, we pitched our tent near the edge of the loch and had stunning views. Man in charge very helpful and friendly. Toilets and showers very clean and water hot. There isnt anything for kids to do but we had a ball and some games that we played but my 9 year old daughter was happy sitting soaking up the view. The village has a well stocked shop, the night we were there we had intended having a bbq but the food hadnt defrosted so we went out( had bbq in Uig next day), I wouldnt reccomend the misty isle hotel, expensive for what you get on your plate, my husband had the added extra of a massive bone in his curry! The campsite cant be faulted and we'd definitely stay there again

What can I say? This campsite is one of the best that I have been to, (and I’ve been to a few). The facilities are excellent, toilets, showers, washing machines etc all fully working and clean to a high standard.
The site is situated on the edge of loch Dunvagen and has spectacular views of McLeod's Tables, the sunsets across the Loch are amazing and worth a visit alone. Wildlife can be seen and heard all around, whilst I was there Sea Eagles, Sea Otters, Seals, Red Deer (plus red deer calf) where just a small selection seen from where I pitched my tent.
The site is ideally positioned for visiting the north of the Island (Portree is approx 30mins drive, Uig 40mins). In the village of Dunvagen there are all the amenities that you could ask for, Petrol, Little shop, Information centre and restaurants.
I was told that there where plenty of fish in the loch, but I never caught a thing (locals having a laugh perhaps?!?). Overall I would give this campsite 13/10.
I can't wait to return in the future, I've fallen in love with the Isle of Skye, and particularly Dunvagen and the surrounding area.

Good site in fantastic setting. Showers/loos were smallish but clean and fine. The owner was really lovely and friendly - you can charge camera batteries / phones in his office which is really useful if you don't have electric hookup. Right on the shores of the loch so I would expect a lot of midges usually - but it was quite cool at night while we were there so we escaped them!
Probably not great if you have children as I don't think there was any kind of setup for them.
Coral beaches are just a few miles and are really beautiful. A few shops and a couple of pubs in the village which is 5 min walk.
We had never visited Skye before but it is so lovely we can't wait to go back - and we would definitely stay here at Kinloch again.

If you are looking for a nice and well-organized campsite on Skye. This is your place to be!
We nearly missed this wonderful site passing through the tiny village of Dunvegan. From there the site didn't just look very nice or even attracting. But what a surprise for us when we entered.(because there is no other)!
All over the site there were nice and levelled spots to choose from. Mostly with a fine view onto the bay (brilliant sunsets!). - We were travelling with our slightly converted Renault Kangoo (there's a small camping-unit and convertible beds in it) plus self-standable tunnel-shaped tent-awning.
At daytime we travelled around with the car, leaving the tent-awning on-site.
This campsite is a very good base for exploring the northwest of Skye.
The sanitary-house was clean, practical, big enough even for a 'packed' campsite during summerhols, the shower-pressure was amazingly strong with almost 'very hot' water!
We stayed for 4 nights (the weather has been absolutely brilliant!) and had no complaints at all!
There are some pubs and restaurants in the nearby village (about 10-15 minutes walk). We would really recommend the 'Dunvegan Hotel Restaurant'.(good value for money!).
In the village ther's a well-stocked outdoor-/angling-shop just beside the tourist-information.
Especially the campsite-manager is worth beeing mentioned:(unfortunately I forgot his name.)
We never ever found anyone else having been so helpful and service-orientated. - If you need ice-cubes: You'll get them with no costs! - You need an aerial for good tv-reception? - Ask him and he'll give you one. Of course there's nothing to pay for. You need information about what to see and where to go from the campsite? - No problem! He's the man who gives every information for you! - Thank you so much for your exceptional friendly hospitality!
We will definitely come back and we'll recommend this place everywhere when talking about our wonderful holidays on Skye.
See you next time again!
