What can I say. This has to be the most sublime spot for a campsite anywhere in the UK. When I woke in the mornings I had to pinch myself to check I wasnt in paradise!. We were helped by stunning weather and therefore beautiful sunsets and sunrise.
Now lets be clear. This is not a site for those who want a big family site with all the bells and whistles and its not for caravan clubbers who want pristine hard standings and well manicured grass. At first site its a bit rough and ready. A bank of grass runs down to the Loch anf there are some hardstandings made out of some hardcore. A couple of simple white buildings make up reception and the shower toilet block. It feels like wild camping but with the luxury of spotless showers and toilets and (very) hot water!. However if you come to Skye this is exactly the feel that you want.
Its right on the loch and our pitch was virtually on the beach. The owner and his trusty assistant cant do enough to help and check every day that you are happy. They reserve you the best pitch if you have booked and have barbecue stands, TV aerials and even ashtrays!
The village itself has a good range of shops and a couple of pubs (no real ale) and restaurants. The fantastic three Chimneys restaurant (one of the top 50 restaurants in the world) expensive but a real treat if its a special occassion and you have saved up is just four miles away. The site owner is also the local postie and I am convinced he also owns the local taxi firm.
Probably my all time favourite campsite but note the comments about its simplicity.

From the very start they could not have been more helpful. What a wonderful atmosphere, so friendly and hands-on.
The site is large enough that you don't need to be too close to anyone but small enough that you get to know faces.
The staff go out of their way to help. I loved that they not only could tell you where to get groceries and eat out but they had a map and photos of each place so you could work out what to look for.
The toilet block was clean and tidy and the dish wash area was huge.
The views around the site are sublime, I took too many photos and can't wait to go back :)

In one word - perfect. We had a 'reserved' pitch right next to the Loch with stunning views over to Macleod's Tables and the village of Dunvegan. Shops/eating places all within easy walk. Nicely spaced out pitches. Every pitch as a nice location. Excellent facilities include washing up area (inside), laundry etc. Very warm welcome and help with gas cylinder appreciated (forgot my spanner!). Would definitely return.

£12 per night for a tent, 2 adults, 2 children and a toddler.
Excellent location with very helpful owner. Weather wasn't brill on first night but after that sun was shining and amazing views of loch and surrounding areas. Good location for visiting Dunvegan Castle (5 min drive) or Ness Piont lighthouse at very top of Skye.
Shower facilities and tiolets nice and clean and shower pressure and temperature was good.
Close to village for food etc. Local hotels take non residents and food cheap. Speak to owner for local info.
Overall an excellent stay and probably one of the best in Skye.

When I arrived at the campsite it was very well presented and you had great views across the loch. ( I saw some of the best sunsets during my stay) The staff here are really helpful with all your needs on site, the shower /washing up areas are really well looked after and maintained.(They have proper power showers) The owner of the site and his trusted assistant are really helpful and full of all the information you need during your stay. They tell you the best places to go and visit, which I found really helpful and made my stay was really nice. This campsite excepts mobile and caravans as well, the campsite is also family orientated and you meet lots of new people.

£5 pppn with tent
Clean and functional toilet and shower facilities - there are four showers (two male, two female) in seperate shower rooms - pretty basic but well maintained, hot water and great water pressure! Also a washing up room with four large sinks.
BBQs are allowed but ask for the special stand before lighting up - they are sitting outside the main office.
Facilities for vans seemed good as far as I could see and there were plenty staying.
Site manager was very friendly and outgoing guy - couldn't do enough to help - there is info available in the office or if you ask the staff.
Pitched our tent to face the excellent views of the table top hills but the water front was just as impressive - excellent to wake up to.BUT site has very little shade from the wind. Five minutes walk into the town where there are a few pubs and shops - easy to walk/cycle to Dunvegan castle and the Coral beaches (a must see!) TOP TIP: goto the Cellar bar on a weekend for a more lively scene!
All in all a great wee camp site - recommend to anyone!

One of the best in Scotland (so far) , fabulous location , clean and tidy toilets , showers etc . And very helpful and thoughtful owner / staff. Even club sites could learn from his motorhome dump station , a nice big hole , with large access area easy to get on and off. He even lends out TV aerials (with stand) if you're having reception problems. A great example of what a bit of thoughtfulness and effort can achieve . And very reasonably priced too. Easy to walk to village , we cycled up to the Coral Beaches , lovely ride. It did get very windy , but that's the norm here so , so what. I wish Colin every success , really great chap, and so is Archie.

Totally agree with the reviews, one of the BEST sites we used last year on a 3 month Scottish trip, the views are fantastic and Colin is so helpful. 10/10 It must be on anybody's list when on Skye. The village is 10 min walk with most needs catered for, The castle is a good day out.

This is a very pleasant site, turned up told to pitch wherever we wanted too. We were in a sheltered spot but it was quite windy. The owners were very friendly and the views magic. Great shame about the weather. The price was £13.00 per night for the four of us nothing particular for the kids to do except run around and enjoy the fresh air. The showers were very hot and cleaned daily. Great base for touring skye

We came across this site by accident, and we're glad we did. We were only there for three days but missed it the minute we left. At £4.50 a head its well worth the money and the staff there are second to none. I had a little mishap with my back door and the minute I started looking at it one of the staff was over asking if I needed any tools! you dont often get that nowadays. The views of the sunset are great I got some crackin pics! The town has enough shops and places to eat out and a brilliant fishing shop that sells loads of interesting gear the sort of shop you like to spend an hour. (which we did) A+ site.
