Site seems perfect for vans, but I think a bit too basic for tents and little children; toilet facilities are simple (only four showers in all, rather basic but clean), washing up area; no playground. Very friendly manager, in his office there was a clear map with on it all the services you might need. Blocked toilet was fixed the very same day!
On the verge of the loch with fantastic views, but little shelter from the wind, although other sites on Skye weren't much better (there was a small building which could be used as a shelter from the rain).
If you go to Skye for the scenery and don't mind rather simple facilities this is the site to go.

Wonderful stay at this campsite, toilets and showers excellent, loads of hot water, great views, peace and quiet, good welcome and local advice.

Windy location, be prepared, to be well fastened down in a tent.

Campsite is a great base for exploring Skye.

Recommend to any serious camper.

Spent a week here last August.  Found it very relaxing and within easy driving distance of many of the Islands attractions.  Staff were very friendly and helpful at all times and the shop was well stocked.
The only wee criticism I would make is that the toilet / shower block could have been a bit bigger, especially when it got busy toward the end of the week.

We spent 12 nights at Kinloch near Dunvegan at the end of July/beginning of August.

The site is situated on the edge of a sea loch with fantastic views accross to Dunvegan and the McLeods Tables (a picturesque mountain range). This is especially good at sunset with a cloudless sky.

The owner is jovial and friendly and is on site for long hours (8am until 10pm most evenings).

It is a little breezy on the site (we had wind in it's gentle or strong forms for 11 of the 12 days!) but that keeps the infamous midgie away.

The facilities are good, very clean and well looked after. They include a washing machine and dryer.

Dunvegan is a 10 minute walk away and most immediate camping requirements can be met within the local shops. There is a well equipped childrens playground in Dunvegan.

There is much to see and do around Skye if you go looking for it including castles, seals, whales, dolphins, fishing, sailing, public sheepdog displays, village shows and fetes, the highland games, fairy dells, a whisky distillery, and fantastic scenery - all without leaving the island. Do not miss The Stein Inn near Waternish on the Dunvegan to Portree road!

I would give this site 8 out of 10. It may benefit from some wind sheilding although that maybe difficult to do without spoiling the view!

What a site. We arrived on a Sunday evening, campsite was nice and quiet. Had pick of the pitches. Lots of space on different levels. Picked a highish up one and settled in for the night. Glorious weather all week really helped but to be honest the site is great in its own right. Very clean facilities which are closed for a couple of hours every day for thorough cleaning. Free hot showers, free hot water for washing dishes. Washing and drying facilities and nice big communal washing lines overlooking the loch. As you stand facing out to the loch you get fantastic views of Dunvegan on your right and the McLeod tables (north and south) to your left. Every morning we had a fly by from a couple of Tornado's (Aircraft, not storm) but not too early. I'd recommend this place to everyone.

We stayed on this last august. The people were very friendly and welcoming. The toilets were clean. They were also very helpful for example we forgot to take pans and kettle with us and the people on this site loaned us some for the duration of our stay. We will be going back here again the girls loved it and so did we.

Just got back from here. Lovely site on the loch. Very well maintained and toilets, showers immaculate. Owners very friendly and helpful. Look forward to going back sometime.

In my personal opinion the best site on Skye. Beutifull surroundings, the facilities are spotless and are cleaned every day. The warden (Del Boy or Derek) is a good guy, friendly, knowledgable and understanding. Good value for money and ideally sited for getting out and about around the North of Skye and the south. Easy access to local shops, pub and restaurant.

A gloriously-positioned site at the head of Loch Dunvegan, just outside the village.
Mostly grassy, some slightly sloping, and some hard standings with electricity. Most pitches have wonderful views down the loch.
Facilities are spotless and well maintained - hot showers, sinks etc. Free hot water. Hairdryer (20p). CDP, public telephone.
Friendly warden who lives on-site has useful information about the area.

Nearby village of Dunvegan has several small shops and restaurants, and a tourist information office. Dunvegan Castle is a mile or so away, and offers tours, gift shops, and boat trips. Wonderful base for walking, cycling (this is a relatively green and flat part of Skye) and wildlife-spotting - wildfowl, seals and (allegedly)eagles and otters. And sheep.
