Having been a regular visitor to Waxham Sands for the past few years I have nothing but praise for this simple, uncomercialised site where you are always made to feel welcome, friendly faces abound, nothing is too much trouble for the proprietor and his team to ensure your enjoyment. My old caravan resides in the "graveyard" referred to by other contributors but it is our pride and joy and second home. we don't object to the gas guzzlers with their jet skis and posh electric hook ups parking next to us provided they are quiet at night and the peace and quiet and natural beauty of the surrounding area make this truly a well hidden (hopefully for a long time) corner of Norfolk. Great for children and "chilling out".

Fantastic Weather no rain all week a difference to last August bank holiday 2004, Site hasnt changed at all Very basic yet sufficient. Site has beach access is a bit awkward with pushchair but managable. on site shop well stocked no amusements which always goes down well with mum! A very reasonably priced site would recommend when nice weather!

Just visited this site, really pleased with the location just a few yards from the beach could even hear the sea from our tent at night. Very large pitches , a great base for a quiet family holiday. Only problem was the toilet facilities, no soap or hand driers and needed a good clean. Would definitely visit this site again as our children had such a good time .

August 2004 Just back from another good stay at this great site how they managed to stay open in such wet conditions is amazing, show's the benefit of the owner running the site himself, even if he did not appear to be getting much help from his staff (if you could earn a living by standing about and talking they would be millioners). Te shop was well stocked with all basic needs, howers and toilets all ok and the fish and chips are the highlight of a stay on this site, yes you might have to wait for it to be cooked but its well worth the wait. One great benefit of this site is there is no reason for my kids to ask me for money as there are no amusements or anything to spend it on.

August 2004 Had great weather for our weekend stay. Pitches marked out clearly with plenty of space for children to play. Great for walks in the dunes and in easy reach of beach. Only downside was folks having a noisy beach party on the Sat night.. but can't be helped. Other niggle was no hot water for shower.. but I guess my daughter and I were unlucky as my husband and son's had no problem!!

July 2004 We visited Waxham this weekend with our newly converted Transit Camper. We found the site friendly, clean (despite the muddy conditions due to torrential downpours) and very well run. The beach is excellent and the seals swimming along side while walking the dog, were an addded bonus. Apart from the family war happening next door, we have nothing but positive memories of the site and will definitely return. On refelction, Waxham barn however was not worth the visit...

May 2004 Very busy due to Bank holiday, but still worth the trip, 2nd visit to this site and still as good, toilets are basic, which is good, chip van on site gets very busy so lots of queueing. Superbly sited along side the sand dunes and beach, a good site worth visiting.

May 04 We have recently returned from a Spring Bank holiday weekend. We had a great time, the site is fantastic, right next to the beach, ideal for the children and no amusements for them to want want want!
The Children loved seeing the seals in the sea and resting on the beach.
On the downside the chip van was not that apealing and toilets could have done with soap dispensers, so one could have washed their hands after using the facilities.
Overall we had a good stay and would return.

Last 28 years on and off Have been visiting this site for many years, used to visit here with my parents and now I take my children, 4, 15 & 17. Fantastic site, peaceful and the dunes are unreal. We usually visit early on in the season and find that it makes a lovely relaxing break, sets us up for the summer.Great location for visiting the broads.

Jan 2004 A nice non fussy site with lovely walk over dunes to beach. Play area, showers, plenty of toilets and useful shop. Elec available. Open areas for kites and balls. Not a snobby site and all can get on with their holiday without unnecessary interferance from staff, though the youth incident a previous person mentioned was dealt with by removing the offenders the next day. No night club to produce noise but Hemsby a short drive away. As a divorced Mum of 1 and an owner of one of the old but loved GRAVEYARD vans, a long time caravanner too, I find the staff helpful in positioning the van for me as I cannot do this alone. Caravanning is about getting out and living free, posh vans are not necessary. For at least 6 yrs, have gone to the sight at least 4 times a year, as this is an affordable site.
