What a excellent campsite was a brilliant experience from start to finish. Full marks should be given to the owners for the way the site is kept people seem to be working on the upkeep 24/7. We found it a good location to explore the coast from Sheringham to Lowestoft with a good road network. On the last day we were there we walked along the beach to Sea Palling which took about 1 hour but a bit of that time was spent watching the seals all in all a fantastic place.

Visited on a sunny weekend with our tent + electric hookup. Family of 4, kids are 13 & 11.
What a great site. Location is probably its star attraction. About a 4 minute walk from tent to enormous near-deserted beach.
We went seal spotting on the beach a couple of times, we saw some but none ventured out on to the sand for us. Lovely to spot them in the water though. They look like they are checking you out (just as you are checking them out).
50p token for showers which were hot and clean. Site was two thirds full and toilet/shower blocks were almost always empty when I used them. All kept very clean.
Washing up points - only 3 or 4 as far as we could see and were often busy, they could do with some more.
The only other odd thing was that, despite the site being two thirds full, most campers were placed at one end of the main field, leaving the other end almost empty. It would have been more sensible to spread us out so we had more space between each unit.
Plenty of caravans on site, they store them in an adjacent field. Looks like they have a lot of return visitors year after year.
Small shop on site. Crazy golf. A couple of small playgrounds. Fish and chip van in the evening. No clubhouse - not that kind of place. Friendly and helpful owners.
Security were very active in their 4x4. Probably the quietest campsite I have been on after dark. Some groups chatting but no loud noise is tolerated. Which is great.
Nearby is Great Yarmouth (rather naff seaside town centre and pier). We went for a lovely boat trip on one of the Norfolk Broads from The Waterside in Rollesby. We also went to the greyhound racing at Yarmouth Stadium on Saturday night which was fun. All within a few miles of the site.
All in all a great site - if you want a quiet and simple site next to a beach you'll be doing well to better it.

We spent four nights at Waxham Sands and enjoyed it so much that we booked to go back in August before we left!
The site is like a good old fashioned holiday campsite: gaily painted toilet and shower blocks, mini golf, children's playgrounds, fantastic beach, great walks along the dunes. The facilities are basic but everything works and the place is run by some of the nicest people you'll meet.
For me this is the perfect campsite. Going off to sleep hearing wives crashing to shore is pretty special. Waking up to skylarks is wonderful. Seeing seals basking on the deserted beach on a pre breakfast walk is perfect. The pitches are spacious and well set out and there is security on site - and they do tackle people who decide to be too loud or annoying. There is a fish and chip van and shop on site but thankfully no entertainment or bar - instead you get peace and quiet and that's perfect for us. There were a few people playing music loud enough to hear from afar but thankfully we were nowhere near them and I got the impression that if they were bothering us we could have brought it up with the security guards. We were camped next to the dunes and my kids played there with friends they met (watch out for the sand flies, my boy has been bitten very badly but not my daughter!)
We can't wait to go back.

Stayed for the weekend.
Lovely reception, even though very busy, the lady was very friendly. However two other guys stood around just looking with no offer of help.
Pitch nice and big, flat and clean. Electric hookup didn't work, so swapped sockets on post. Dodgy!
Busy site reflects the low pitch price, but no soap in toilets should not be as a result of low pitch price and neither should the security people that have a heavy right foot in his old banger and a bad attitude!
Our neighbours, a large group but very friendly were shouted at and told to turn the music off even though it was quieter than the half naked lady one side and a an again large party the other side.
If only I had my camera at the ready, I would have video'd this very unfriendly and unprofessional oik!
I was under the impression security teams are supposed to be licensed these days, and if so, the probability of meeting such a person on such a fab location would be negated, and stay at such location vastly improved.
Hasten to add, unless improvements are made, mind sets changed, security teams professionally trained, we will not be staying again!

Just got back from a week here, 3 adults 1 dog on a touring caravan.
Firstly, the staff are very friendly and gave me lots information.
The campsite is very large, the biggest site I've ever been on.
The site was quiet the week we went, but I assume on the school holidays it would be very busy and noisy!
Toilets are very dated, could do with being updated slighty. There was also nothing to dry your hands.
On the Sunday the toilet block was closed for a while, but no sign to say why?
The EHU runs on 6amp so remember that, although you can use quite a fair bit if you calculate it right.
Showers was 50p for 5mins, not bad however having to wait for the water to warm up I wasted valuable time!
The beach is by far the best I have ever seen! and the seals also was fantastic to see and they came soo close. The only down side if getting to and from the beach, making it over the sand dunes.
It was very tiring even for a young person like me(27)! even harder carrying fishing equipment!
Didn't catch any fish, probably didn't help with the seals looking at us and probably laughing! haha.
The fish and chips on site was fantastic! £6 but the best I have ever had!
All in all great site, great location,
Showers and toilets need updating. Would I go back? yes! great price and great for my dog

Booked for 2 weeks. Caravan, 2 people, 1 dog, awning + EHU 16. 95 pn not too bad.
As mentioned by other reviewers old but perfectly functional toilets and showers. Cleaned regularly. No towels or soap but loo paper provided :-)
It was beautifully quiet just the wind and waves. No road noise! Lovely walks on the dunes and the beach. The waves and undercurrent can be quite strong so be wary when swimming.
A few inquisitive seals patrolling up and down the beach. In fact one popped up 3metres behind me while swimming!.
Fish and Chip van was open Fri and Sat a bit pricey but very nice.
Very dog friendly. Our German Shepherd loved it.
We did get some high winds when there. Don't know if this is a regular September/Autumn feature but we survived intact.
Will probably go again. But avoid school holidays! Lots of rather loud children!

We visited the site on recommendation from a friend and were not disappointed.
Although very busy the site was well spaced out with large pitches.
Toilets and showers nice and clean.
Fish and chip van was a bonus - saved us going out in search of food - and very good!
Excellent beach walks within a couple of hundred metres over the dunes and we saw about fifty seals basking on Sunday morning.
We will definitely visit again.

Had 2 great long weekends at the site, the toilet and shower blocks were clean, and was cleaned minimum twice a day that I saw.
I turned up unannounced on the first trip and the staff were great in letting me stop, but I advise you book in advance.
The sea is next to a fantastic beach and is quite peaceful, it was great to see the seals as they were just pupping.
Would very much go again.
Only 2 points, the fish & chips were a bit expensive and the chip half cooked.
The taxi was a bit expensive and hit or miss especially when you are at the local pub requiring a lift back.

Up until 3 years ago I'd not been camping since my childhood and decided to give it ago with my family. We loved it at Waxham Sands so much so we've not stayed anywhere else. Plenty of facilities which are cleaned regularly and always well stocked. Staff are very helpful, friendly and polite. On our first visit they lent us a stove cos we couldn't get ours working. My kids love it and have made some lovely friends. Pitches are very good size, plenty of room to play and relax in the sun. There are parks and crazy golf on site and a gorgeous beach just over the dunes. We have a large 7 birth tent for 2 adults, 2 kids, our dog and our cat. The only downside is we live too far away to come up for weekends and only manage 2-3 visits a year :-)

Great site, flat with plenty of space for games etc. Endless beach of fine sand 5 minutes walk away over a large bank of dunes. There are lots of seals who pop up unexpectedly to look at you and then disappear again. They come ashore towards evening about 1-2 miles south east down the beach, and can be watched from quite close until it gets pitch black. We bought wet suits for the North Sea, but didn't need them as the water was warm enough. There is a well stocked shop on site, which includes a book swap shelf in reception, and a burger van that opens most evenings and Sunday morning - excellent fish and chips. Shopping has to be done by car in Stalham which has a Tesco, which is north about 8 miles away, or Great Yarmouth which is about 12 miles south east. There is also a very good farm shop and butchery on the way to Stalham. When the locals tell you it's only a couple of miles away to something, take that with a large pinch of salt - it took us 2 hours on bikes to buy a paper which you can order from the site shop anyway! The showers were good with a separate changing stall in most of them, operated by a 50p token for about 4 minutes. They are shut from 10p. M. Until 6 a. M. Toilets and wash basins are in separate blocks to the showers. The site holds a lot of people and we had a couple of noisy neighbours who were told to quieten down by the staff. With so many people I wouldn't recommend this to an elderly couple looking for peace and quiet, but for families it's first class.
