Being kind of new to camping with 4 kids, this can be a bit of a challenge, so of we went with our new tent to Faskally. When we arrived, the sun was shinning and this seemed promising giving this was a bank holiday weekend. The campsite looked okay at first and was fully booked so we expected it to be busy.
The pitches were fine, but expect to get on with the neighbours. The toilet block was clean and a notice indicated it would be locked at midnight, opening again at 6 am, and to use single night toilet should you so need. The showers were kept clean, but a lack of hot water early in the morning was a bit of a nuisance. When questioning if there would be any more hot water, a young male Australian told us that "thats how the management wanted it so you wouldn't hang about in the showers". I'm sure this is not true, as hot water was available around mid afternoon. The site is noisy, despite a midnight curfew, not much good if you have young kids, and the lack of decent play areas is a big letdown. There are some nice walks though. Overall, glad we went - wouldn't rush back.

Very, very busy site. Tents are cheek by jowl. Swimming pool was very busy too and had to be booked in advance. Best time to go for a shower is mid afternoon when they are clean and there is plenty of hot water. Noisy all night on Friday and Saturday nights.

Well back again and yet again we had a great time. The weather was good and the site wasn't to busy. Shower block where clean and I saw the cleaners in there every hr. The pool was lovely as it was not busy. We have booked again for Oct holiday with all the family and are looking forward to it again. Only complaint is the shop, it is very expensive we always go to the local shop in town.

I have been to this site 3 times this year, kids love it, some great walks, and good pool, but on our last visit in August we were very disappointed with the toilet block. The site was full and this may have been the problem. This site can be noisy at weekends and very busy, tents very close together.

May 2005 A lovely site if you can get in, it's usually choca. Fantastic walks and scenery. Toilets are clean but the shower area is usually covered in grass due to the fact when the grass is cut it is not lifted. Well stocked shop but well overpriced.

July 2005 First time to a campsite since I was a Kid. Really not our cup of tea! Shower block never appeared clean, never saw a cleaner around. Some noise late at night, and we did hear someone ask them to keep quiet, claiming to be the camp manager. Loads to do for the family and loads around, but wouldnt swim there. Really hope other campsites are not like this, strange atmosphere, not somewhere I would like to revisit!
Pitlochry is close by and there is loads to do, get off the campsite if possible!
Would like to see more attention to the cleanliness, but apart from that, cant fault the owners. Probably suits the current customers and obviously a very busy site. Just make sure this is the right one for you.

July 2005 I visited Faskally Caravan Park earlier this month and have to admit that I was extremely disappointed. Although the park has good facilities on paper – the swimming pool has to be booked in advance (at an additional cost) and the toilet block although relatively modern, was persistently dirty throughout out stay.
There was also a real noise problem on the site – and although I heard the Warden asking people to be quiet at 12.30 – much of the noise continued until 3.30am on both nights of our stay. It was so bad – that even though we had paid for a third night we chose to leave after only two.
We stayed on two other parks during our stay in Scotland which were absolutely lovely (Morton Hall and Witches Craig) I only wish that we had taken more notice of the other reviews on this site that warned of the problems at Faskally.

September 2004 we went here towards the end of the season and it was fab. The toilets were out of this world and a very well stocked shop, resturant at reasonable prices all meant you really never have to leave this site once you arrive. The walks by the river Faskally were beautiful and nearby pitlochry gave access to extra shopping. Pitches on this site were very well kept and staff were very helpful and friendly. We will definitely return to Faskally.

July 2005 This was my first experience of camping and wont be my last. As yet unable to compare it with other sites. On my weekend i was accompanied with my kids, sister and niece. This was not my sisters first time camping and she thought all in all is it was quite a good site, but would not rush back.
Kids playround could do with updating, toilet and shower facilites excellent. Shop ok. Bar went to once - felt it was quite small for size of site. Not impressed with food, the one and only time we ate there. Had steak pie which the meat was full of fat and the gravy was like water. On speaking with a member of staff later even they said they would not eat there.
Swimming pool looked ok but very concerned that only one member of staff on duty and not constantly at poolside, keeping eye on things. Later found out that staff on poolside duty dont even have to be able to swim never mind any life saving skills.
Had a good pitch, even though near roadside not much traffic noise, good size pitch, looking around some pitches although seemed smaller still of good size. As i said at start of review, my first time camping - so i am off now to read some more reviews to find good site to visit in a couple of weeks.

May 2005 Hi we stayed at Faskally on the bank holiday weekend. It rained for most of the time - typical Scottish weather. It did not spoil our weekend though and our two young children just loved playing in the mud (there was far too much of this due to the site being upgraded to fully serviced pitches and the ground not having recovered) Once the ground recovers the upgrade will definitely be worth it.
Our teenage son had his moments of moans and groans but even he enjoyed it on the whole. We have stayed at Faskally every year now for the last 4 sometimes a couple of times a year. The washing facilities are fantastic and are cleaned regularly.
The pool is great and surrounding walks are always good for keeping everyone amused. The crazy golf needs fixing or removing as it is useless to play on and you just upset the kids when they want to have a shot!!
