We spent two nights here at the end of June. We had heavy rain on our first day but we were able to use the pool to entertain the children in the morning. By lunchtime the sun was blazing. We took a lovely walk down to the river where the children loved paddling in the water. The campsite was well maintained. It did seem quite busy and was quite noisy in the evening. The site was patrolled around midnight when most people seemed to settle down for the night. Midges were a problem, but you will always get that. We used Avon - skin so soft which seemed to keep the little blighters at bay! All in all, we hope to return sometime as we had a great time

Site clean and spacious.
Friendly staff
Shower blocks clean, cosy shower.
There is a well stocked shop, with fresh rolls and daily news paper, reasonably priced.
Great walks for dog owners.
The two things that are stopping me from going back is that you have to pay for the pool so for a family for a week it is expensive, there are limited kids activates.
Although I am not much of a drinker, the bar closed really early.

We visited this site to trail out our new tent, as it was within an hours drive. The site and welcome were good with with plenty of help from the staff. The toilets were clean and plentiful, with plenty of sinks to wash our pots and pans.
We were pitched on a slight gradient but nothing too drastic. The site was noisy on the second night with a tent flul partying until about 5am. There were plenty of complaints but I am not sure of the outcome as we left the site by 11ish that day. The site has a pool with sauna, jaquzzi and steam room. When we went on the sat afternoon (you must buy tokens from reception for a specific time) we were the only ones in the pool.
On the hole a good clean site and we will certainly return.

Been here a few times now, toilets and washing up area really good, spacious and clean. Hook ups available.
Quite a large site, recommended for families. Adults only head up to the top end of the site quieter there even though the road is nearby you do not really hear any of the traffic.
Downside the food in the lounge is all microwaved and rather disgusting, microwaving steak pie and chips not a good idea, absolutely awful, was supposed to be home made. Food has certainly went down hill since our last visit. Bar staff not so helpful, staff in the shop were excellent. Pitlochry really nice all the shops staff were really nice and friendly. You can go for a snack or a really nice meal excellent.
Overall a really nice site but could do with a bit of a spruce particularly the buildings around the lounge area.

Turned up for a night in july, as was driving a long distance, just my 2 year old and me and a dog.
It cost us £17 just for a night. Expensive in my opinion for a small 2 man tent for one night. There is a good well stocked shop at reasonably prices, and I believe a restaurant, but I didn't use this.
The toilets were pretty mucky though it has been pouring with rain.

Stayed for one night on way back from holiday in Outer Hebrides. This is quite a large site and one big field is for tents. We checked in OK and got a pitch with no problem although it was busy. I have to admit this is not our kind of site as it is primarily for people with children which we aren't so we did not use the pool or bar etc. To that end we found it quite expensive at £18.00 for small tent, 2 people and a car opposed to £9.00 for the site of Portree, but obviously you are paying for the maintenance of the site.
I thought it might be noisy at night but it wasn't, the midnight curfew worked well, most people were up early but that suited us. The showers are free but the water was really too hot and couldn't be adjusted. I thought the shower and toilet block was well kept and clean.
Pitlochry is a nice town although always busy, we eat at the Indian resturant and had the best dhansak I have ever eaten! Quite expensive but good food. However the site is about 2 miles out of town so not too easy to walk especially with young children.
Would recommend the site for families or groups but not couples looking for a quiet stay.

First time to this campsite and the area. Site quite busy when we arrived on the Friday night but managed to find a plot no problem. Stayed for eight nights Partner and son took advantage of the many golf courses nearby. Toilet/Shower block on the whole clean, hot water was a bit of a problem at the weekend but midweek was fine. Staff very helpful and friendly. Pool area was a lovely treat and was never too busy due to the fact that you had to book. Lovely walk from the site into Pitlochry (if you go the right way). On the whole had a great week and have booked to go again in August.

Have visited this site a number of times over the years and enjoyed it very much until my last visit at the May bank holiday.
This is the first time we have stayed since the park layout has been reorganised and there are less tent pitches.
We pitched near the tent field and the top toilet blocks.
My complaint is that I feel the park security are very heavy handed. My son was told off for playing with his frisbee in a deserted area in the park. My daughter who was in a tent next to us was told to turn off the light on her mobile as it was after 12 midnight. Although we had no music on at night the security did not want us talking at all after this time and hung around our unit to make sure that we were not talking at all.
If you go on holiday and like to stay up a little later than you would at home then this site is not for you. It's lights out and straight to bed on the stroke of midnight!
Having said this the site and the facilities are good, well kept and clean.

Just come back from 7 fantastic days here. We were in a party of nine in three tents, we were very lucky to get pitches together as they have reduced the number of pitches for tents. Only two tents needed electric, we were on a slight incline but nothing serious.
The sites facilities were fantastic hot water all the time, clean shower and toilet blocks.
The swimming pool has to be booked in advance for a small charge, most of the time your normally the only ones in there which is good. The sauna and steam room are kept clean and the pool side and changing rooms are cleaned after every session. The shop had the esentials but there was a Co-Op in the village which had everything you needed.
The food in the bar was hot and very enjoyable, all the staff were very helpful and polite all the time.
There is plenty to do in the surrounding area from walks by the river to the lovely village of Pitlochry where you can see the fish ladder. Edradour Distillery, Blair Atholl Castle and the Highland Games. There is so much more to say but it will take forever. I would recommend this site to anyone.
We are going back again next year and cant wait.

Just returned from our first trip of the year which we spent at Faskally having had a fantastic time there last year. I'm updating my review from last year, because although much has remained exactly the same, we did notice that the second tent field near the upper toilet blocks has now been given over to hardstanding pitches for caravans. I realise it's probably more profitable for them to do that, but if you are planning to camp with a tent there in future it might be a good idea to book well in advance as I imagine the remaining tent field will be full in no time at all during high season!
