A lovely setting, with trees and walks all round. The site itself is spacious, with wide roads and large pitches, but the access involves a tight turn off a narrow country road and there are two gates to open/close. All the facilities are immaculate, with full recycling, but what a pity almost everything is clustered around the entrance, making a long walk from the far end of the site.
This is a great site for those who like walking or cycling, and for dog-owners too.

We booked this site for a weekend as not to far from home and having been members with c&cc for nearly 12 months and not having tried any of there sites thought we would give it a go.
We were very impressed with the site, our hardstanding pitch was a very good size and level which made setting up really easy.
All the facilities on the site were spotless which is a credit to the management on site.
We went with some friends and the children took there bikes, the site is fantastic location for both walks and bike rides and we had some great fun in the forest which you can get to straight from the site. My son learnt to ride his bike without stabilisers on the site to because of how safe it was.
We could hear both the road and the trains but within an hour or so of arriving you forget completly about them both and it did not affect any part of our weekend.
We will definitely be booking onto this site again and would highly recommend to others.

Another great site for the Camping and Caravaning Club. From the moment that we arrived we were welcomed with open arms. The facilities are excellent, the staff very friendly.
It was recommended that we order a home baked pie on the Tuesday evening for delivery on the Wednesday and we were not dissappointed, it was very meaty and tasty.
We visited Chester and took a trip in to North Wales, both of which we would recommend although we were dissapointed when we went in to Rhyll, probably not our scene.

Our first visit here. Would definitely go again and recommend with no hesitation.
Shown where all the facilities were, which are absolutely spotless, as soon as we arrived and then shown to a choice of pitch.
Plenty of space between the pitches with room in front also so you weren't too close to the road round the site.
Great location for walks and cycling around the forest. Go Ape within walking distance.
Pitches have lighting next to them at night so if you do need to visit the facilities at least you can find your way there without any difficulty.
Nice ice cream by the station.
Didn't venture anywhere by car but as we went for the walking & cycling there was no need to.
Very clean well maintained site with pleasant staff.
Would be good idea if they could have a small area where the kids could play ball games although appreciate not everybody wants that.

We have just returned from a 9 night stay at this site. The site was smaller than we expected with no facilities for children to play.
The shower and washing facilities were very clean and it was ideally located for visiting Chester and surrounding areas, Go Ape & forest walks, but 9 nights was too long on such a small site.
The staff weren't quite as friendly and helpful as for example the Winderemere Camping & Caravan Club site - our favourite.
The shop could barely be described as stocking the basic essentials and was only open for 1 hour in morning & 1 in afternoon.
Not really our cup of tea!

Great little site. Ideal location for the zoo & chester town centre. Facilities were clean & well looked after.
Only draw back with the site was the shops opening hours are very limited, but great little shop a mile down the road.
Very friendly people all round. I will go back

Had a cracking week, weather was brilliant and the site typical cc club standard. It is right by the train station with trains running to chester and manchester. A mile down the road is a shop which on certain days deliver meat pies to the site shop and I can certainly recommend them. For the energetic amongst you go ape is next to the station. On the down side to my visit I couldn't use my awning due to a mistake in the booking but this didn't spoil a great stay. Shall definitely return. This site has no facilities for children as this is a new site .

This is a great site second time we've been. Just through a gate and your in the forest great for the dog many beautiful walks. No shops or pubs nearby, on site shop carries a few items. Managers are very friendly and helpful you can order papers for following morning. Train next door is a request stop takes you into Chester. Showers are clean with plenty of hot water keypad on door.

We have just returned from a lovely long weekend stay at this site - The Delamere Forest Camping & Caravanning Site!
The staff are really pleasant, helpful & friendly.
The toilets were clean. My eldest daughter said the showers were fine, no problems at all. I didn't use the showers as we used the family bathroom. I was a little disappointed with the family bathroom, I would've liked a bath for my 2 smaller children, but they enjoyed the shower none the less!
The site is in a brilliant location for walking and cycling and to visit 'go ape' which is a short walk away. The handmade Ice cream next to the train station is a must!
The reception carries all the essentials if you have forgotten something! You can also order your morning paper from them!
There is also a little village shop approx 30 mins walk away - (its only a couple of mins by car!) Please note: The lovely walk is along a busy road but you do have a path to walk on, we also had 2 small children with us, we just made sure we kept hold of them at all times (like you would!)
There was only one more thing I would change about the site if I could, and that would be to add a play area for the small ones, there was a little area where all the children seemed to gather, but nothing for them to play on!
We would definitely stay here again!

Please don't stay here! Because we love it and we can't always book on when we want to. Firstly the wardens are some of the friendliest you'll find; unlike so many they understand we're there to relax and leave work stresses behind - I know because they've told me so. Ok when its busy there could be more showers, but I've never waited very long. The forest is great for walking or cycling and the Carriers Pub down the road is a great spot to sit out in their garden for a beer after a bike ride. We always look forward to going to Delamere.
