We stayed as a family of three, plus a dog, recently and loved this site. It ticked all of the boxes for us as it was very dog friendly, had a great pub at the end of the lane, allowed camp fires on the grass, plenty of space to play with a good park with zip wire and football goals near the camp entrance. The showers were clean and effective and plenty of toilets. Very reasonably priced and friendly owners too!

Second time we have visited and will definitely be back. A huge area for the kids to play, great playground with a zip wire just by the entrance, traditional pub serving delicious home-cooked food and a pretty village with cricket pitch. If you like a basic, no-nonsense, relaxed site then you must give this one a try. Jon the owner was the perfect host. Friendly and helpful (he even fixed the pop-up roof on our camper van) and happy for you to enjoy the site how you want. Definitely attracts relaxed, friendly people so rules are kept to a minimum.

We stayed here over Easter and had a fabulous time. The campsite is next to a cricket ground with a great play ground, and a super CAMRA pub (the Bear). Beautiful walks through fields to lovely picturesque villages and pubs, whilst red kites soar above your heads.
Disadvanatages are the site is basic, with a toilet block and separate shower block. However, owner Jon is so helpful and hospitable. You are allowed campfires on the furthest camping field.

Fantastic time had by our group of 8. Plenty of space, good atmosphere and the owner was extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful. Would certainly go back and definitely recommend to all. Located in the middle of nowhere, shops are drivable but a nice walk with pubs close by and walkable. Facilities were very basic, but worked. Overall a top place.

Good Site with clean facilities and level grass sites. John, the site owner/manager is the best part of this site. Nothing seems to be too much trouble for him. We were going to the theatre in Didcot and would not be back until late that night. No problem for John. Just send him a text when we get back and he will lock up after us. He even offered us a lift into Didcot. Didcot, 3 miles away, has 2 cheap petrol stations and also lots of shops and restaurants. Excellent stay.

This is our 3rd time here, very pleasant site, friendly owner, great price. Camping field is spacious, plenty of room for the children to play. Great nearby play park and lovely pub. This site is very peaceful and an added bonus of campfires.

Since discovering this site I stay frequently. The thriving caravan storage area through which one enters, belies the very pleasant site ahead. Mostly grass pitches, with a very large free-camping field where fires are allowed, even encouraged, a very tidy CCL for 5 vans, and a large number of other hook-up pitches. The farm owner is very friendly and helpful and fees are quite fair. Toilets are basic but clean and serviced daily. There are two enormous showers which are free. Ok, so there's no washing up area etc but hey, this is not that kind of site. Its situated in a nice little village nestled in the countryside. The only sound is the distant train line and the geese. There are sheep and sometimes horses in adjacent fields. In the summer the large field is popular with a huge range of tent and VW campers, caravans and Winnies alike. It attracts such a diversity of people and outfits but is large enough to never be overcrowded. It lies about 3 miles from Didcot which has a main rail terminus and 24hr Tesco. There is a gem of a freehouse pub virtually at the entrance to the site, where the food is so good one needs to book at weekends. Oxford city is about 45 minutes away by car, with good park and rides, or you could drive/walk/cycle to Didcot and hop on a train. The only trivial negative I can think of is that in the winter when it rains, the going is quite soft over most of the site, but this is true of many country sites. I would thoroughly recommend this site if you want somewhere away from the crowd, with a great atmosphere. At night in the summer, the dozens of campers dotted around the big field with glowing bonfires are something to behold. The owner has tidied up the approaches since developing the site. A very welcoming campsite, and well worth a visit. I've been camping for 30 years and this site is now in my top three in the UK. Marty

I stayed here for 2 nights in July 2015. It's a quiet, basic site which allows open fires although you need to take your own wood. The entrance to the site is though a storage area for caravans which is unattractive but once past that you get to a large open field and you can pitch wherever you like. There is a toilet block, some water taps and showers plus some electrical hook ups.
The owner, John is a nice chap who is very relaxed and there are few rules. When we stayed there it was mainly families who seemed to appreciate the space - lots of room for cricket and football and you can easily keep an eye on the kids. The local villages are very pretty and there are plenty of good pubs in the area including The Bear at Home which you can walk to from the site.
Overall a good site for people wanting peaceful surroundings, basic facilities, open fires and plenty of space.

We've just returned from one night's stay at St. Peter's. John, the owner is very relaxed about times so we were allowed to turn up early and leave late! We had electric hook up as well as a campfire pitch which was great. There were 2 adults, 6 kids and one dog in our group - the total cost of our pitch was £20. The site facilities are very basic but we chose to stay there for the quiet location and option of a campfire. The children's park is great and the local pub was just 2 minutes walk. This is a good site if you like open views of the countryside, campfires and quiet.

Pleasant open site close to Didcot. Could do with some more work but I understand it is a bit of a work in progress. A selection of pitches from formal to completely random. Facilities basic but functional. Very close to The Bear at Home pub with friendly staff and real ale on tap. A variety of walks from the site to surrounding area.
