Absolutely brilliant location. Big open field with lots of families on. The owner was very accommodating.
Portaloo toilets which is fine but they had no water in to wash your hands but there was soap! During this pandemic I think it would be better to have hand sanitizer in there.
The showers were very grimy! In a shipping container and very basic and floor was covered in grass and mud. However shower was lovely and warm.
Overall, the site is quite run down and definitely wouldn’t say it deserves it caravan and camping club certification/badge. However, for one night it was lovely. I would call it ‘wild camping’ which we love.
Local pubs lovely. 15 minutes from benson where you can take a boat up the river.

Liked the location, and the large campfire field for tents.
Disliked: Overflowing bin (just the one, plus recycling boxes),
The toilet and shower units could be doing with a complete upgrade,
The additional portaloos were unserviced for the first couple of days of our stay and therefore unusable.

We use this site when I come to Didcot Railway Centre on a fairley regular time.
The site is not flashy, but it meets our needs, and Jonathan is always very helpful.
We would not stay in another site in the same area.

Stayed on the large field without ehu loads of space to spread out.
Water and toilets nearby, showers a bit of a walk away in a old container tired looking but showers was hot and great power in them and the shower room was really big great when you take the kids for at same time
Location is great Didcot for all shopping needed for the stay at site Wallingford, Abingdon, Oxford and all the lovely villages on route to Reading to visit. Goring and streatley and pangbourne and Didcot is also on main Trainline to London

Chilled out place with nice atmosphere and no petty rules.
Handy pub, mobile food bar on site. Rustic feel.
Fires allowed on main field. Not luxurious but very friendly.

Really like this campsite, it won't be for everyone as facilities are a little limited. Basic toilets but perfectly usable. Showers are in a large lorry container, again basic but fine for me anyway.
Pitched in the rear field which is huge - pitch where you like, very flat, campfires allowed. Nice views over the countryside, Red Kites above, little bit of noise from the railway, but not intrusive at all.
Direct access to public footpaths from the farm - lots of great walking in all directions.
Half a mile walk to the village pub, the Bear, which is really nice, overlooking the village cricket field. Wander the other way for about a mile there's another pub, the Crown in the next village of South Moreton.
Really friendly and welcoming owner. £15 a night, one adult, one dog, no EHU. Not too far from me, so I will definitely use again.

Very friendly manager - lovely site.
Could do with the shower block investment but understand Covid held this back.
All in all lovely village surrounding and really enjoyed it

It's was a lovely campsite but the toilets and showers need to have a really face lift or maybe rebuilt and done again as they are not very hygienic, so that's what let's the campsite down.

Made the initial enquiry by the booking form on here and the owner responded quickly saying there were pitches and that it would be £15 per night for me, the dog, no electric in a VW T5. I had the option to pay on the phone or in cash on the day.
On arrival I called the owner and he directed me to the campfire field and told me to go anywhere I like as they were not to busy.
The field is just massive and we had so much space, this would be ideal for groups, families, etc, that want some space and to relax around a campfire. Of course with the field being so big the facilities block could end up being a long walk away.
There were numerous water points along the hedges and they all had good pressure. There is a facilities block, plenty of bins and chemical disposal point. The facilities were clean and looked after and did the job perfectly.
Nothing for the kids other than loads and loads of space to run around, ride bikes, kick a ball, etc, so it would be perfect for them.
There are two pubs within walking distance and we tried them both, The Bear, about 3 minutes from the entrance and The Crown (opposite direction through fields) about 20 minutes walk away. They were both great pubs and we enjoyed a few drinks in each.
Other than that we did not venture out of the site, however there is tons of walking from the site and it was very peaceful, the train track is not too close and you barely noticed it after a while.
I will return and enjoyed my stay.
