April 2005 Stayed at this site for 5 nights a couple of weeks ago. It was one of the best sites we have visited. There were several toilet and shower blocks and all were immaculate. It was nice to see soap dispensers as well. The baby change facility was excellent and very private (key from reception) and the big sink was big enough to give my two (5 and 7 yrs) a quick bath!!!Showers were 10p a go but plenty long enough for me and my little boy.
The family running the site were very friendly and helpful. Very good laundry facilities and nicely spaced pitches, with adult only section if thats what you are into. We were on a family field which was ideal as we could see our kids on the play area in the middle.
The fish and chip van which visits on a Saturday evening was excellent. Nice area as well ideal for visiting Cambridge - we used the park and ride. We have already booked to come back later this year.

September 2004 We picked this site after reading the other reviews and we wern't disappointed. The owners were all very friendly and helpful. Milk and papers were ordered for us when we arrived and could be collected from the shop each morning. The site is laid out beautifully with seperate fields depending on size of tent/caravan, kids or no kids etc.The facilities were spotless and there is now soft toilet roll!! Showers were 10p and seemed to last for ages and ages. We are keen cyclists and the area is great for cycling - a cycle lane all the way from the village into Cambridge. There is a bus stop about 10-15min walk from the site where you can catch a bus into Cambridge in the evening that returns to the village at about 11.15pm if you fancy some evening drinking. There are some picnic tables scattered around the site to use and when we mentioned in passing to the owners of the site that the one near to us was rickety they went out the next day and bought 2 brand new ones!! There is a lovely walkaround the site and farm fields for dog owners but it was so lovely we used to walk round in the dark, the night sky was lovely. We have stayed on a lot of sites but this is top of the list, and we can't wait to return with some friends.

August 2004 This site is a gem and compared to big, commercial sites, proves that less-is-more. We live in Herts and are a young family new to camping, and fancied a night away, so I headed north for 20 odd miles, and came across Highfield Farm. The lady on the front desk was lovely and guided us to our pitch on her bike, which was a touch. There are 3 or 4 areas for families, couples, tourers etc, we took the family area, which had play equipment in the middle of a hedged field, with pitches around the side. This is a great site to sit and chill, everyone is respectfully quiet and is a friendly place to be, also very cosmipolitan, with many french and german families. It felt like we were 200 miles away from home, very peaceful. Toilets and shower blocks were the best ive seen on a campsite so-far, and the flowers and hanging baskets around the buildings was a lovely touch. Would recommend this site to anyone wanting to chill & relax. We loved it!

June 2003 Highfieldfarm Touring Park is a park which is situated just outside of Cambridge in the delightful village of Comberton. Having spent a long weekend on this touring park I would highly recommend it to anyone who wishes to visit the Cambridge area. The Park is kept to a very high standard and is always clean and tidy. Proprietors Brian and Lorraine Chapman and there daughter beverley and her husband Kevin take great pride in their touring park and have won some prestigious awards for their endeavours, deservedly so I hasten to add. The Park is divided into several areas which has the effect of given both a small site feel but with spacious pitches. The shower blocks are kept spotlessly clean and tidy, water points are set inside small shrubbery's which is an idea which I have not seen before but can certainly say it does look good and enhances the overall look of the site. Hopefully our next visit to this park will be a longer one as there is so much to do and see in this area. One place which is of particular interest is the Imperial War Museum at Duxford which is only about 10 miles from Highfield. For more things to do just pop into the information hut at the Park's entrance where there is a whole array of brochures covering the area. I am sure a visit to this touring park will be a pleasurable event for all caravanners and campers from young families through to Grandparents. We will certainly look forward to another trip to this part of the country.

Several times 2003-2004 We only started camping last year but have been to this campsite several times. If your looking for somewhere to relax, this is the place for you. They have several different areas for different groups. We have been with our 3 children & camped in the family field which has a small play area with swings etc & plenty of space for a game of football or tennis as all the tents & caravans are parked around the edge, the owners do come around about 10 at night & ask any children still on the play area to return to their parents so that they are not screaming on the playground. We have also been with a couple of friends and stayed in the couples, adults only field which although a lot smaller is usually free from children. We find the owners very friendly & helpful and the showers are always clean & only 10p for a fairly long shower. However if you are looking for somewhere to have a party & make lots of noise this is not the site for you, this is definitely for those of us that want to get away from it all & have some peace & quiet!

April 2004 We have just returned after spending a week here over Easter. Clean site with very good toilets & showers, shower lasted well for 10p. Not much in the area in walking distance. Our only complaint really was that we didn't find the owners very friendly.
It was very good for Cambridge & Duxford aircraft museum which was absolutely excellent, well worth a visit there!

End September 2003 We loved this site had chose it as a base to visit Duxford. Showers etc clean and tidy the 10p shower went on for ages. We liked the walk around the site and the way the pitches were incorporated into the trees and bushes. Another plus was the visit of the fish and chip van on Saturday evening (freshly cooked to order and excellent) Everyone made us feel welcome and we have it down for a return visit.

19/7/03 for overnight stay It has taken us two years to get into this site as whenever we have tried to book it has always been full. We really wanted to go there this week-end as it was our 12th wedding anniversary and luckily when we booked about three weeks ago they had space for us.
We cannot fault the campsite. We had a large pitch for our new TT and we were overlooking the play area - nothing could be better when sending our two boys aged 6 and 10 off to play. The toilets, showers and washing-up areas were immaculate. One problem we did have this morning though is that there was no hot water when doing the breakfast washing-up at about 8.30am. We managed to wash our things up but if we had had a cooked breakfast we'd have to wait until later on in the day to wash up, which really you don't want to do.
Overall that was a tiny inconvenience in a totally pleasing night away and we will certainly go back there in the future.

2 -6 July 2003 We have just spent 4 days at this site, and have definitely marked it as one to return to!
We pitched a family tent with a pup tent, and were given a corner pitch which was about 50% larger than normal at no extra cost, the washing and showering facilities were great, and the owners were very friendly. They were very good at ensuring dogs were on leads and children could play happily, but they were discouraged nicely but effectively from tearing around the park annoying the other campers!
I agree about the loo roll though - and we took our own!
