We managed to get a booking for the August Bank holiday weekend at very short notice, to try out our new folding camper.
We were very impressed with the site, the people in reception were very helpful and showed us to our pitch, which was on an adults only field. There was also a separate field for families with an exciting looking play area.
We took our 17 week old puppy with us, and there was a super dog walk, with beautiful views across the countryside.
There were adequate toilet & shower facilities, which were spotlessly clean throughout the day & night. There were also plenty of sinks for washing up.
Although the campsite was fully booked, none of the pitches were overlooked, as the tents / caravans were around the perimeter of the field, with cars parked opposite the pitches in the middle.
We will definitely be returning.

Another warm welcome, we have been fortunate as our second outing we discover another gem.
The site is well laid out and attractive with a nice walk around the perimeter. The toilets and showers are excellent, very clean. A good washing up area.
There is a small shop which caters for us forgetful types.
On saturday a fish and chip van pulls onto site and is well worth the wait. About 15 mins to Cambridge city centre which is full of worthy sites to visit, plenty of nice eateries and bars.
It rained all weekend but it didn't matter as the site and location shone through.

Shouldn't be telling anybody about this little beauty of a site, but it looks like the cats out of the bag already.
Its everything that everybody has already mentioned & more.
If your an aircraft spotter, you'll probably get a free air show to boot, also on the flight path for hot air ballooning in the area(that's a strange noise to wake up to in your tent) the roar of the gas burners on the balloon at 6. 30am.
Give Peter 'the man on the bike' a chat, he has a cracking story to tell you.

Only live about 45 mins away, so just stayed for a cheeky one-nighter on a Saturday.
Lovely site, several 'fields' which are sectioned off by tall conifers - we were in the 2nd field with just tents and it was perfect. A larger field is available for tents and campers/caravans with a large playground which the kids seemed to be really enjoying in the glorious sunshine this weekend.
Toilets and showers are spotlessly clean and very well equipped, our only gripe is that there could be more - particularly showers, we managed to avoid any queues but think we were lucky with our timing.
Fish & Chip van on Saturday evenings and the food was fantastic at a good price.
Owners are super friendly, lovely people, very welcomming.
A small shop which seemed to stock all the essentials and a bit more at very reasonable prices.
Surrounding farmers wheat fields gave a real sense of space and walks available were lovely.
An easy walk (I'm not a big walker, but even I found this easy!) of about a mile to the bus stop which takes you straight in to Cambridge.
Overall we'd highly recommend this site for couples and families alike.

Having previously visited with our tent, we returned this time with our caravan. Great site, the camping pitch we had on our first visit was grassy & flat & the hardstanding caravan pitch was perfect. Very friendly owners, very clean facilities, loveley walks from the site & ideally located for the park & ride into Cambridge itself. Would recommend to anyone & will definitely return ther in the future

We stayed here for 10 days with our tent and three young children during the Summer holidays. It is ideally located for trips to Cambridge and Duxford Air Museum, and is very well kept with excellent toilet blocks.
The family field is slightly sloping and has a good play space in the middle, though we did feel that the pitches around the outside were closer together than we would have liked, especially when you have a few large tents together.
Most visitors use it as a transit stop to and from Harwich and only stop 2 or 3 days. On arrival, having paid for 10 days, we were asked to move our tent after 5 days to another pitch so that their grass could be rested.
We have never been asked to do this before, and had we known this would not have booked onto this site, as having to pack up and empty your tent is far from ideal and not very customer friendly. We were even expected to move on a very rainy day - we did move the next day but as a result we can't recommend this site for long stays.

We stayed here as a group of 6 adults and three children for a bank holiday weekend in May.
The campsite was full but did not feel over crowded. We were pitched in the family field which had a play area for the children.
The shower blocks were well located for each camping area and there was loads of hot water. There could be queues if you went about 9am but no queues at other times. The cubicles were also big enough that you had your own mirror and chair in the cubicle and plenty of room to shower without getting all your belongings wet.
The owners were friendly and helpful and the shop had all the bits and pieces we needed.
We will return there without hesitation. I've been camping since I was a toddler and it was one of the best sites I have ever stayed at.

A wonderful camp site, no complaints whatsoever. The people were friendly, the sites a good size and well protected and the facilities spot on.
We were in a large tent section as the site is divided into specific needs. There was a block with loos and washing up facilities in our section, so easy peasey and close by.
The site has a barrier which is locked at night and a warden. It is only a short drive to a park and ride for Cambridge, and although the local pub offers only standard pub fare there are a number of very good and reasonably priced restaurants nearby. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.

Spent one night here to go to a friend's party in Cambridge, which is very easy and quick to get to from the site.
We got a wonderful welcome and were shown to our pitch by a friendly man on a bicycle who turned out to not even be an employee - just a regular visitor who had stepped in to help because they were short staffed!
The pitches were very spacious and the site was divided up into different sections for families and adults wanting quiet which worked well. The family area had a playground and its own showers & loos.
The facilities were very clean and nicely done, the washing up areas were also clean and everything felt safe and secure. The site is locked at night, although we said we'd be late back and were given a key so that's not a problem.
It was very peaceful and the conifer hedging gives privacy and shelter, but does block views.
We'll definitely go back if we need to be in the area again.

We stayed at Highfield for a long weekend in October, and the site was fairly quiet for the whole weekend even though there was a caravan club rally on site the same time.
When we arrived we were warmly greeted by Beverley who booked us in at the office / shop and took our newspaper order for the stay. She asked where we would like to stay and then took us to the pitch on her bike.
As mentioned there was a rally in one of the sections of the campsite but due to the conifers separating the different areas (family / rally / tent / adult only) we didn't hear them at all. We chose to stay at the far end of the site opposite the dog walk which overlooked a lovely grassy area and was very quite indeed.
The facilities on site were spotless, and there were shower blocks in the larger areas with plenty of toilets, showers & sinks.
The site is a 15 - 20 min walk from the village, but is a nice walk to and from the shop and pub. It is also a short drive from the Madingley Park and Ride for Cambridge. We also visited the Imperial War Museum at Duxford which was also within easy driving distance.
We would recommend this site for visiting Cambridge and will be returning in the future.
