Highfield Farm is my favourite campsite to date. We had a spacious pitch in the adults only field which was very close to a modern block of toilets, the washing up sinks and drinking water. The showers were a bit of a further walk but were clean and well maintained.
We were greeted on arrival by Beverley who promptly jumped on her bike and took us up to the field, allowing us to choose our own pitch.
On the first evening we cycled in to Cambridge which was about 6 miles all along cycle paths. On the second day we drove to Madingley Park and Ride which was very close by.
The campsite is an easy cycle to Comberton village which has a handy Costcutter.
Would definitely recommend this site.

Visited August 2010. Received a warm welcome on arrival by bubbly Beverley who showed us to our pitch on her bike. The reception has a small shop with a few essentials, we also ordered our papers for our stay. An information kiosk is sited by the security gate to the first field .The site is surrounded by large conifers (which were very useful during the wind heavy rain thunder and spectacular lightning storm we endured on the Saturday night !) The site drained very well. The units were all situated around the edge of the fields which made the site feel even more spacious than it already was. A walk around the sites farm has very nice views over the surrounding area. Highfield is a short drive to the park and ride at Madingley. On the way is the immaculate American cemetery. Four golf courses are within six miles. Cambridge, Newmarket Ely and Huntingdon are all worthy day trips.

This is a lovely quiet site with great facilities, there are good size pitches and convenient hook ups set in small areas around the site all surrounded by high hedges that give good protection from the elements.
The only criticism might be the wood pigeons cooing at first light but you even get used to them and start to find them quite amusing when they dance across the top of your tent!
The facilities for dogs is great with a lovely dog walking area through farm land.
This is a good touring site but not a holiday site as there is no restaurant or bar and very limited supplies in the shop, but that ensures plenty of restful peace and quiet if that is what you are looking for.
We didn't have children with us on this trip but there is a playground to keep them amused.

Absolutely lovely site and would recommend highly. WE have visited this site on a few occasions in the past and return time and time again. The owners are very friendly and helpful, the site is kept very well, nicely planted, grass cut, toilets/showers/wash up sinks always clean and bins emptied regularly. Small shop on site for your essential and where you can also order your newspaper for the morning. Morrisons is about 5 miles and Tesco about 8 miles. The local pub Three Horseshoes has a great beer garden but geared towards children. Would recommend the George and Dragon at Elsworth for great food and friendly staff. The site is very peaceful, a dog walk is provided and also has a children's play area. This is a site we will be returning to year after year.

Found the site via UK Campsite. We received a very warm welcome on arrival, and shown to our pitch. Asked whether we needed any help in setting up.
Site facilities were spotless, Toilets and showers were exemplary. We received a brochure on arrival which held lots of useful information. We stopped two nights, Friday and Saturday visiting Cambridge, and surrounding area.
The site is a ten minute drive from the very good park and ride, The Chinese restaurant in nearby Toft is well worth a visit the food was delicious and very reasonable. I would highly recommend the site.

I arrived at the time when they ask you not to, but I was greeted and welcomed to the site, booked in and made feel very welcome.
Found the toilets and showers very clean and tidy.
Well worth a visit, the pub in the village is about 20 min walk and was made feel very welcome went there both nights staff and landlord good company.
When we decide to visit this area again we wont be looking for any other site's

Very friendly staff. Quick check in and shown the our pitch. We had EHU which was all fine.
We had plenty of space on a large pitch for our car (Ford S-MAX) and 8 man tunnel tent (Outwell Indiana 8).
We have 2 boys (9 and 6) so were allocated a pitch in the family field. There is a nice play area: 5 swings - not squeaky! a plastic tree house with slide and large boat see-saw. Other children there were aged up to 8-9 and they all played really nicely.
No noise after dark or before 7ish in the morning.
The cleanest shower/toilet blocks we have seen - no unaccompanied children allowed - good policy!
Well equipped shop - we reserved newspapers for both days.
The weather was pretty poor - windy and rainy - but pitches were well shelted (lots of hedges) and it didn't affect the cleanliness or service as is sometimes the case elsewhere.
We ate at the local pub in Comberton - the Three Horseshoes 22, South St CB23 7DZ. Really family friendly with an excellent beer garden and play area. Food was excellent - about £9 for a main course. We drove from the site (took 10 mins). Would be about a 25 minute walk.
All in all - I concur with the other very positive comments made by others - I would thoroughly recommend this site to anyone!

The site is very easy to find with good access. The staff are very helpful and the pitches are of a good size and are very well tended.
The toilets and showers are very clean and are a credit to the staff.
If you are going to Cambridge the bus service is every hour and costs about £2.70 for a day pass. The journey takes about 20 mins and is well worth using to save the hassle of taking your car.
A trip to Duxford war museum is a must, approx 15 mins drive away and a full day out.
The nearby pub is about 20 mins walk away and has a massive and very well tended beer garden.
And the food is superb. ( we used it a lot! )
Ps Cambridge is a lovely city full of nice shops pubs tearooms and a river punt is a nice treat.

As most have said this was a fab site, with free hot water in the showers and heated toilets and showers too.
Can't say anything about the electric as we didn't take EHU.
The hedges make for good shelter from the wind and the sun when it's out. From what we could see, the play area was well maintained and well used.
The shop is well kitted out and the owners very helpful and friendly.
My only complaint would be that if you are next to the family area, be prepared for it not to be as quiet as you would think it should be if you are there during school holidays as we were this week (English Half-Term)

When we arrived at Highfield we got a very warm welcome and they soon showed us where to pitch our tent by cycling to the pitching area. We found a lovely area to ourselves apart from a magpies nest nearby, which we found out in the morning.
The toilet and shower blocks are very clean, the only criticism is 20 pence for the hairdryers. The village pub is a short walk away and its well worth it the pub garden is lovely and the biggest I have ever seen and the food is good also. Will use this campsite again like a shot.
