My wife and I have just spent three nights at this site and found the owners very friendly, the toilet blocks are excellent and very well kept.
There seems to be separate fields for family's and adults which may be of interest to some. The site is very well kept and nicely laid out with good size pitches. The only downside was the electric hookup occasionally tripped out but I understand the owners are trying to rectify this.
The location is excellent, only a couple of miles from the Cambridge park and ride (best way to get into the City). There is a pub and takeaway not too far away although we didn't try either but neither are within 'easy' walking distance.
Overall we were very impressed and would recommend this site to both adults and families who want a quiet break and within easy access to Cambridge and surrounding areas.

Have just returned from our first visit of the year to this site. We have been using it regularly for three years now and once again it lived up to its normal high standards. Beverley and Kevin both made us feel very welcome and very much at home.
Facilities as usual were spotlessly clean and maintained. The local pub The Three Horseshoes still serves lovely beer and food. There is a slight downside, the chip van no longer calls on a Saturday night but he can be found close by on a Friday.

Everything said about this excellent site is true. The showers and toilets are heated, the shower cubicles not too cramped and the toilets even have a choice of paper!
The reception is helpful and genuinely friendly. The lawns are immaculate and there are high hedges for shelter from the cold winds often encountered in this part of the country. An unexpected bonus, not even mentioned in the site brochure, is the is the fast and free wi-fi

We have stayed in plenty of campsites over the years abd this is the best campsite we have stayed in!.
Friendly staff, beautiful well kept campsite with spacious and all even pitches for your tent and car. There is a very pretty walk at the top of the site that takes you on a circular walk on the edge of wheat fields, a brilliant place for wildlife spotting, dog walking and for stunning English scenery.
Facilities are clean and well equipped with plug sockets for straighteners girls!. Free showers and plenty of choice as to which block we used, all clean and never had to queue.
Cannot speak high enough of this campsite, will definitely stay again.

Great site, rightly deserves the plaudits. On arrival shown to our pitch. Facilities exceptionally good, always spotlessly clean. Excellent base for Cambridge and Duxford, we ventured a little further afield to St Ives (very pretty) and to Bletchley Park near Milton Keynes.
A couple of minor hiccups (which had I bothered to check about wouldn't have been a problem at all!) were the Fish and Chip van no longer calls and this site does not take credit cards. Just meant we were cleared out of cash after paying for our lovely pitch and had to make other arrangements for Saturday evening meal!
Overall a very pleasant experience I can thoroughly recommend this site and will be returning.

As has been stated a clean, friendly site on the edge of Comberton village, so friendly that the owner allowed us in a couple of days before the season began. This site is excellent for visiting Cambridge without the car simply by turning left out the campsite and walking to the bottom of the road and catching the hourly no. 18. Noticed there was a cycle way also so probably possible to cycle there too. Otherwise not a great deal to do here, the local pub is about a mile away and was shut when we wanted to use it,there is a small supermarket in the village and as has been mentioned a quite extensive dog walk at the far end of the campsite. Paid £15 night for two with ehu.

Stayed here for the weekend with a couple of friends.
Staff really friendly.
Good size pitch although the top tent field was a little exposed I think we may have taken a battering if the wind got up higher.
Good facilities, really clean toilet blocks and didn't really have to wait for showers etc.
Nice little shop on site with all the essentials, and only a short drive into the village where we came across a Costcutter which had all the basics.
Saturday night Fish and Chips van was lovely - good value and freshly cooked.
Sunday lunch in the pub in Comberton - nothing special and staff not overly friendly but a nice big garden and good value.

We enjoyed our weekend at this site. We were welcomed on arrival and guided to our pitch. It would have been a bit cosy if it had been full. We were in an area enclosed by tall hedges towards the middle of the site,so it was nice and private. The toilets were clean and handy. The showers were nice but a bit of a walk. The fish and chip van came and they were very tasty. It's a great location for visiting Cambridge for the day.

We selected this site based on previous reviews, not realising it was one of the 'Best of British' campsites. We were also pleasantly surprised at £15pn with EHU.
We arrived on the Friday night and left by 11 am on the Sunday so didn't really get the chance to appreciate the whole of the site. We didn't realise you could stay until 2pm on your day of departure. The lady who showed us to our pitch was very friendly and we were presented with a booklet about the site and the locality.
The site is fairly long and narrow and sectioned into different areas by large conifers. Campers are only allowed to camp around the edge of the areas. We were located in the family field which was large and had a children's playground in the centre. There were a number of A-framed tables around the field and because there were not many campers we were able to comandeer one. The amenities were very clean. There was a very useful information hut near reception which contained local pub menus alongside the typical tourist informaton. The entrance to the site was through a gate which was closed at all times.
The site is located near to the Park and Ride which is much cheaper than parking in Cambridge. It was cheaper to pay at a machine before alighting the bus (assuming you have the correct change) than paying the driver.

Booked this site for 9 days after reading all the really good reviews on here.
The reviews were not wrong.
Arrived to a warm welcome from Beverley who got on her bike and showed us to our pitch on the family field.
She left us in peace to pitch and sort ourselves out.
Great points about site:
Very friendly and knowledgable owners.
Well stocked shop, you can order papers and milk and collect from 8am each morning.
Superb facilities, i.E toilets, showers, dishwashing areas etc etc. Very clean whatevever time of day you visited.
Regular patrols of the site by the owners to check for problems.
Nice that you pitch around the edge of the field so that children have plenty of room to play in the middle.
Close to lots of attractions, you don't need to travel far for a day out.
Superb fish and chip van visits the site on a saturday evening. Good food and not overpriced.
Lovely fresh rolls and bread in shop at the weekend.
We had a noisy party next to us for 2 nights, the owners dealt with the problems with loud music and playing on the play area after dark swiftly.
Great walk around the owners farm, which is approx 1.5 miles. Nice on a sunny evening and great views.
Minor bad points.
I don't think hard ball games (i.E older kids playing football with a hard ball) should be allowed as we had the tent and car hit by the football. The owner does give you a book with rules in whilst on site (there are not many rules) which does state you should be considerate to other campers but with a lot of foreigners on site (these were german), they may not understand english.
No baby swing - there are 4 normal swings in the family field, one of which could be a baby swing as our little one would have used it and there were a few other babies there.
Slide broken - no fault of the owners, the big kids broke the slide which was disappointing for my little one. Maybe there should be an age limit for using the play area as there were quite a few older children/adults using it which is why it got broken.
I will finish by saying what a superb site, well run, fantastic facilities, lovely owners. This is what a site should be like.
We will be booking to go back next August for 2 weeks and I think this will become a regular for us.
