We have just got back from this fantastic site, after being worried about some of the comments, and all I can say is that some people are very picky.

Yes we stopped on the tent field for 2 weeks, no problem with the slope, yes there is a slight slope, and of all the 2 weeks we were there, they never put anybody on the slopey bit.

As for the dogs, it is a hunt pack, and yes you can hear them in the distance, but nothing to spoil your holiday.

This site is one of the best we have been on, toilets clean all the time, never any toilet paper all over the floor, maybe this could be down to no children on site, but it was a blessing to have toilets clean 24/7.

The staff sre the friendliest I have ever come across, they just could not do enough for you, especially Steve.

The shop as everything you need in emergencies, and very reasonably priced.

The Buzzards restaurant served fantastic food, and a very friendly atmosphere, and cheap enough.

What more can you ask for, the views are fantastic too.

Thanks to all staff, we had a great 2 weeks.

We have just spent three nights at Binghams Farm and had a friendly greeting when we arrived and were even shown to our pitch which was situated at the top of the field with lovely views over the valley. We ate in the restaurant just the once and the food was okay and service good. The toilets and showers were kept very clean but it didn't matter what time of day we went for our shower, we always found them busy.

The surrounding area is lovely, so many places to visit, if you visit Lyme Regis try their pasties, they are delicious. Lovely walks can be had from the site, we walked to Bridport and then carried on to West Bay, by the time we returned to the camp site we had covered some 8 miles. However not all was perfect. We were situated some 50 feet from the barns (near the reception area)and work was being carried out for most of one day which was extremely noisy. This involved a Kango, angle grinder and even a digger were operating. There was no regard at all for the campers around. They also seem obsessed with cutting the grass and this was done on two of our three days buzzing around our tent with a noisy mower.

Having read the reviews I booked this site months earlier for our Wedding Anniversary. When I booked we went into great detail about the size of my caravan so I was expecting a large pitch. What I didn't expect was to be wedged in between two hedges under a tree and on a slope. Throw in a very active ants nest and very close neighbours too. There is a sign as you enter the site stating not to walk through others pitches. This was ignored with constant stream of people taking a short cut through mine and the next pitch. I put a windbreak across.

The local walks (walk) were on one sheet of A4 paper, the other side was a copy of an ordnance survey map. We tried the walk but it was obvious nobody had walked it in months. We had to go under 3 electric fences and were surrounded by horses cows and sheep.

Everything they tell you about Binghams Farm is true, the facilities are excellent, the toilets and showers are some of the best you will find on a campsite. Everything is kept clean and tidy and nothing is over priced nor do they try to squeeze every last penny out of you whilst you are there.

Everything about the place is very relaxed and if you want a place where there are no kids or that is very doggy friendly, this is ideal. The people are friendly and they are situated in an area of natural beauty.

The tent pitches (most of them at least) are on a slope and in places it is quite a steep slope, this makes it almost impossible to get a reasonable nights sleep. We genuinely needed to tether our bed to the ground to stop it sliding down the slope!

They also do not mention the barking from what we assume is a nearby boarding kennels. It literally did not stop, it was the last thing I remember before eventually falling asleep and it was that which woke me up at 4.30am.

Would we go back? Yes, definitely if we could guarantee that we had a level pitch that didn't feel like we were tied to the side of a mountain and that we were on a part of the site that you couldn't hear the nearby kennels. We would certainly recommend this site for anyone with a caravan but if you plan to take a tent there, check before you pay any money that you are not getting one of the bad pitches.

Also, a good tip would be to stock up on insect repellant, they have some very persistant horse flies there!

We have just returned from one weeks stay on Binghams farm. The welcome was warm, the site was immaculately kept and well maintained. The maintenance man was on the go the whole time we were there from dawn til dusk making sure everything looked perfect. Beautiful walks from the site. Restaurant and Bar very nice and the food is well prepared. Facilities were well kept and hygienic at all times, and even during cleaning they made alternate facilities available so you weren't caught short.

However, nothing is ever perfect. A bit disappointed the restaurant and bar closed on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, I could understand this out of season, but at the busiest times of the year a little strange. I understand everyone has to have a day off, but they must be able to rotate staff? Maybe employ a part time chef to cover days off, the revenue raised would far out weigh the wage bill as the bar and restaurant were always busy whilst we were there.

The only other problem we had during our stay was with one member of their team, and it was not just us that noted it during the week. One of the ladies that looked after reception from time to time seemed to like to communicate with the paying guests by pointing at the numerous signs dotted about, in a 'Basil Fawlty' like manner.

Would we go again?. Definitely. Would we recommend it? Definitely. But on one condition. They get the member of staff with the politeness bypass some customer service training!

This is a lovely site. We were on a Valley View pitch 3 for 6 days, which was a good size and fully serviced, you need a good length of waste water pipe and we were short, however the staff leave lengths of pipe just in case, so we didn't have to rush out and buy more. We had brilliant weather and had the sun all day on our pitch.

We found this site to be all as described in the brochure, all staff were friendly and polite, facilities spotless, the park and pitches all beautifully maintained, lovely walks down to the river and fields beyond.
The 'Buzzards Restaurant' was excellent in both value and quality, it was shut on Tuesday and Wednesday which was a pity as we went to a chinese restaurant in Bridport and had their set buffet which turned out to cost more than we had paid in Buzzards and we were very disappointed with the whole meal!
Avoid this one! Will definitely visit again.

We have just returned from a 2 night stay at this wonderful site, the majority of the pitches are divided by a hedgerow which gives a good degree of privacy.

The shower / toilet facilities are modern and clean with ample hot water available there are a number of 'ensuite' showers which looked very plush although we didn't use them.

Buzzards the name of the restaurant and bar is a must with the food being of very good quality and reasonably priced. It was really nice to be able to wander down from your pitch and have a drink / meal, in pleasant surroundings. The bar / restaurant is open from 6pm till 11pm serving food till 9pm and if you wish you can take the food back to your van. Our only criticism was the restaurant / bar was not open Tuesday and Wednesday in June as this is still classed as mid-season and we had to cook for ourselves on the Tuesday!.

The site is ideally positioned for exploring the West of Dorset and East Devon and we shall look forward to going back and recommending it to our friends.

Wonderful campsite with good facilities, private bathrooms were a joy, as was having no noisy children running around. Lovely bar and restaurant upstairs in the barn and not bad prices either.

Campsite is a little secluded and you will need transport to get anywhere. Nice spacious pitches but you will get some noise from a local dog boarding kennels.

No views as such, there is a dog walk at the back of the site through the trees which is quite nice.

Good value for money and very pleasant, helpful staff, we will definitely go back.

Okay, Having recently stayed at another adult only award winning site, we did have something to compare this site with.

Staff were very friendly and we were shown to our EHU pitch which was in the field on the slope! We didn't see anywhere when booking that the site didn't have level pitches. We found the first nights sleep disturbed by constantly slipping down our self inflating mattresses. Oddly enough, the caravans had level pitches when they are the ones that can level out there legs to suit unlevel ground. The caravans do seem to get the best of the site which is unfortunate as the tents pay the same price.

The washrooms are OK but limited, however I wouldn't say they were worthy of an award. There is an onsite 'shop' which is a basic kiosk located in reception. There is a laundry and use of a freezer for your ice-packs.

On the 2nd night we were kept awake all night by the neighbouring field which seemed to be home to a dog shelter / boarding kennels??? Approx 50 dogs barking all night. We heard many other campers moaning in the morning. Unfortunately if you are in a tent you cant get away from this noise. However Like I said, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here in a caravan!

We didn't try out the onsite bar / restaurant as the weather was so good we were able to have BBQ's late into the evening.

We wouldn't return here but that's personal choice and I'm not keen on sloping fields.

We stayed here at Easter as our first trip of the year and to celebrate our first wedding anniversary.

We arrived on the Friday afternoon and was very impressed with the welcome, we were given the normal site info etc and then taken to our pitch and the wardens placed our van on the pitch for us.

As it was Easter it was busy but the site was always quiet and clean. There are two sets of toilet/shower blocks, there are ones next to reception where you have 5 individual shower rooms, 2 with toilet's. There are also plugs for hairdryers / straighteners and 1 mirror, luckily it was not 2 busy needing access to the mirror on the morning I washed my hair.
The other toilets/showers are round the back of the site and are the 'normal' type of shower cubical, but again all kept clean.

We visited the bar on Friday night and it was nice to see that the prices were not OTT as some campsites do! We didn't try out the food but have booked to go back again in September and plan to then.

Local to the site were co-op food and a Morison’s in the town and visited Charmoth and lyme regis on the saturday and portheat and weymouth on the Sunday.

It is a site we would recommend to anyone and looking forward to returning in September
