Just returned from a weekend away. Lovely site with excellent facilities. On site restaurant is well worth visiting with lovely home cooked food at reasonable prices. Staff are both friendly and helpful. The only downside was that if you are on a pitch in the lower fields, after checking in at reception you have to reverse your vehicle in order to drive down through the site. I can imagine that if several of you turn up at the same time this can cause problems. It did seem to be a bit of a bottle neck. We also couldn't fine any info on local walks.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 nights at Bingham Grange and have booked to return in October.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The woodland dog walk was great, leading to footpaths across fields - I've never seen our dog so relaxed!

It was very quiet and restful, despite the site being full and half the campers had dogs.

Facilities were excellent with a tiny, well stocked shop.

I have recommended the site to many friends via Facebook.

We arrived at this park to be met by friendly staff and taken to our pitch. We were a bit disappointed as we had read about privacy screening between pitches but arrived on a pitch surrounded by lots of other caravans none of which had privacy hedging. Infact there was no privacy whatsoever and it was embarrassing having people sitting inches from your caravan when water, waste etc had to be emptied or refilled. The hedging really needs to be between all vans as those that had it looked really nice, it would also have provided shade for our dog.

We couldn't eat in Buzzards as we have a dog but we used their takeaway service many times during our stay and the food was lovely. It would be nice to see the specials posted on a board outside so those of us staying with the dog could see?? Just a suggestion. The menu given on our arrival had lots of choice though.

Toilets and showers kept clean. Never had to queue.

Laundry facilities really good.

Dog walking area was really good and lovely to see people cleaned up after their dogs and there were lots of dog waste bins.

The one hate was dogs barking! Unfortunately this wasn't on the site so they can't be held responsible but the barking and howling started in the early hours and would go on for hours! That is my only criticism and the only thing that really ruined our stay. Get the dogs quiet and a perfect park.

We have stayed at a number of Tranquil Parks sites but I have to say our stay at Bingham Grange was not terribly tranquil. It is a lovely site although a bit regimented for my taste. There are some lovely secluded pitches and there are some which are overlooked and not very private. The best pitches are at the far end of the site but these are a long, long way from the facilities. There are two very up to date wet rooms which any hotel would be proud of but you are lucky to get in them because they are popular. There is also about 5 unisex shower toilet rooms. Additionally there are some fairly basic camping type facilities. The site also has its own restaurant which we didn't try. Mainly because of the signs that kept telling me how marvellous it was. I know you need to be positive in your advertising but it was starting to wear a bit thin

The downside for me is that there are signs everywhere - do this, don't do that. All of these directives have already been pointed out in yellow highlighter on the lengthy contract that is sent before you arrive. You literally do get sign fatigue after a while. When I go to sleep now I see the 'Dogs are not allowed in the washrooms' signs shimmering in front of me. A suggestion to the owners - if you are a site for 'discerning adults' don't treat us like recalcitrant children who have to be reminded every 5 minutes of what is not allowed.

At last we get to the tranquillity bit - there is constant activity at this site. Grass being mown, grass being watered, grass being fed, repairs being carried out on the facilities. There is an army of maintenance staff who are at it from morning until night. I am on holiday I want a quiet break not a hive of activity constantly around me. There is noise as well, not from the campers but from dogs. I think there is a kennels nearby as some days the dogs barked incessantly which then started off the dogs that were on site. Some owners seem quite content to allow their dogs to bark and bark and bark. It wasn't in the least bit peaceful.

Would I return - only if there was no where else

We arrived at this site on spec and were greeted by a lovely young lady in reception who pulled out all the stops in finding us a pitch which was big enough for our 7. 5 metre motorhome even getting one of the campsite employees to measure our van and the pitch availability.

We were duly pitched up with lovely views over the River Brit valley. The pitch and site amenities were well kept and we had no complaints on this front, BUT, there is always a but isn't there, we were a little disappointed to find one of the main selling points, the Buzzard restaurant and bar closed on the Tuesday and the Wednesday, I can understand the restaurant being closed to afford the chef his time off, but surely the chef does not run the bar and we feel this could be open even if the restaurant was closed.

This being adults only site was great but the number of dogs on site was horrendous. Of ten vans immediately surrounding us, only one of them did not have a dog or in some cases two, I am not sure what was worse having screaming kids or yapping dogs encroaching on our pitch even though signs were in abundance advising the owners to keep them on short leads.

The other gripe and this is not down to the site, but the footpath to the Hare & Hound pub across the valley was in places totally overgrown which was a shame because the pub ( when we eventually arrived) served superb home made food.

Yes we would return but not on a Tuesday & Wednesday and hopefully get a pitch away from dog owners.

It is for this reason and the restaurant bar being closed, the rating has been downgraded. A shame really.

Adult only site. Unfortunately on full service pitch, very small grass area and it was like being in a goldfish bowl, too close to other vans. Also other pitches not full service bigger and more room. Do not expect to pay top rate and find better pitches with more room on cheaper pitches. Two very good showers recently done, but the rest only average. Disabled shower very small and dated. Nice restaurant but odd that toilets are downstairs away from restaurant. Camp kept clean and grass cut regularly but on my pitch cut grass but too lazy to move chairs on grass, so grass all over them. Finally, I think it is wrong to make caravans pay full balance in January for peak season.

We stayed here for 8 nights in June for our main holiday. We chose this site after reading many reviews on this site and the fact that it is adults only. We arrived a bit early for booking in as the journey down was quicker than expected but had no trouble upon arrival and was shown to our pitch personally, which was nice. The pitch was on gravel and was sloping slightly upwards. The staff were very friendly and even helped to position our caravan as my reversing is a bit suspect. Couldn't fault the showers and toilets at all. The food at Buzzards was excellent, we went twice during the week.

However not everything was good. We were woken every morning by 'cock-a-doodle-dooing' at 5am as our pitch backed onto the yard. The yard itself was a bit of an eyesore with lots of rubble lying about. As the weather was so good we decided to go walking along the river but the place was so overgrown with nettles and weeds it was impossible to get far. All in all we had a great week but were a bit disappointed with this site and won't be returning.

Just got back after 3 delightful nights at Bingham Grange. The site is so peaceful it's incredible. The pitch map on the web site makes it appear like the whole site is level but in reality is drops away as you move away from the reception area down into the tent areas (the caravan area the other side of the reception looked like it was pretty level. )

They've used shrubs, hedges, trees etc. To make every pitch it's own little space, with privacy. We stayed right at the bottom of the pitch near the dog walking area and aside from the odd chatting couple walking the dog (a good 20 yards away from us) it was silent (well, the cows were quite vocal on the next door farm but we found that quite amusing. ) :)

The staff as really friendly, showed us to our plot personally (rather than just pointing to it on a map) and smiled all the time.

Buzzards was a gem. It was what drew us to the site originally and it did not disappoint. We had three fabulous meals and they were delicious, prepared quickly and served by friendly people. For us, as people who love the camping atmosphere but don't like the camping cooking experience, this was perfect!

There were private toilet / sink / shower rooms, which makes mornings and evenings much easier, including two really high end units with slate floors and a really nice drench shower.

Overall we can't speak more highly of this place and will definitely be going back!

PS, the whole 'adult only' thing. PERFECT! :)

Better late than never as we posted this review in Jan 2015.

This was our 3rd stay at Bingham grange and we were again pleasantly surprised by the friendliness of the staff and the level of cleanliness of the site as a whole. The staff at Bingham Grange quite clearly take a lot of pride in their work and of the site itself. Reading some of the other reviews of late I'd like to point out that to keep a campsite looking pristine and clean, grass has to be cut and other work has to be done, otherwise people would find fault with that. Unfortunately not every dog owner cleans up after their animals, something that we as non owners find abhorrent and so it is necessary for people to be reminded of their duties as dog owners. Quite clearly Bingham Grange can't please all of the campers all of the time but for us we think it really is a lovely site.

Whilst in the area we explored the Jurassic coast from Weymouth to Lyme Regis and beyond. Our favorite haunt being that of West Bay where they film Broadchurch, nice fish and chips and walks along the beach. We look forward to staying at Bingham Grange again soon.

I should have reviewed this site long before but better late than never! We have been 3 times now & about to book for the fourth (I hope). My most favourite Tranquil site, spacious pitches, we do treat ourselves to a fully serviced pitch, immaculate shower rooms & toilets, friendly staff, & a big plus for us is the amazing dog walking facilities, short walks, mid range walks or long walks, you can choose any all from the site & most off road. We also love the surrounding area & never tire of going back every year. We have not tried the restaurant but have heard great reports about it. Another big plus is the adults only policy, please don't ever change anything about this site.
