What a lovely site, great facilities ! Lots of wildlife especially birds. Very quiet and so handy for the NEC - Birmingham international. Taxi cost about £6 to the NEC. Meriden is a nice little village - you gotta try the fish and chip shop (be prepared to queue at the weekend - its that good). We've booked another weekend here next May. Well worth a visit and its adults only

We were lucky enough to take advantage of a 4-nights-for-3 offer at Somers Wood Caravan Park earlier this month. In fairness we didn't expect too much from a campsite in meriden, but we are delighted to have been pleasantly surprised.
Arrival at Somers Wood showed the applied security at the site. This meant leaving our caravan for a walk etc. Was easy with no worries of burglary or vandalism. The site itself is nothing short of immaculate. The pitches are well laid out with sufficient room for our caravan, awning and MPV all on hard-standing.
Amenities we're the same. Hot powerful showers, pristine wash and toilet facilities, easy access water and refuse areas. The lot. The staff were helpful, friendly and pleasant.
Downsides: 4 nights is simply not enough time to visit this most picturesque site and the nearby village of Meriden. Well done. You'll be seeing us again. Steve & Anna.

This has got to be by far the best site we have visited so far.
The site itself is absolutely amazing, it is so peaceful, quiet and extremely well maintained.
Its not to far away for visits to local attractions and Oxford was a great day out too.
The shower blocks are really spotless, I used the disabled shower block that is located on its own, it was absolutely fantastic, and had everything you would expect in your own bathroom, plus it was as clean as you would expect your own bathroom to be.
I cant wait to go back and we are even contemplating hiring the chateau in France that the owner have if possible.
The little village 5 Min's drive away has everything you need if you run out and also the best fish shop I have been to in a long time.
This is truly a site well worth a visit.

We stayed for 2 nights as we were attending a Christening in Hampton in Arden over the weekend. So for us, the location was near perfect.
Angela was very helpful over the phone when my husband made the booking, asking us where we'd like to be pitched (due to satellite coverage for Sky boxes I think?).
We arrived about 40 mins before the gate was locked (they lock them at 5pm and access is via a code so not a problem coming and going). Check in was smooth and we were given information about the park and the adjoining golf course which serves bar food.
The park was very clean and peaceful and we found the washblock exceptionally clean and of a high standard - plenty of very hot water!
Unfortunately we didn't see much of the park as we were out all day at my nephew's Christening on the Sunday.
We did ask about a late stay on the day we were due to depart which wasn't a problem as no-one was booked onto our pitch until the following day. However, we were unable to contact the boarding kennels back home to extend our dogs stay.
My only minor gripe about the park is that they charge the same price per night all year round (apart from when there are shows and exhibitions at the NEC and then the price increases a little more). I personally would like to see a seasonal variation in pitch fees. However, we hope to return sometime in the future to explore the surrounding area as the park itself is conveniently placed for touring the Midlands and Warwickshire.

We have just been to Summerswood for four nights and found positives about it, the wardens are friendly and helpful and the amenities are good and clean, but there are negatives. The site is easily found but on the pitch we had there was hardly any room, our van is not one of the largest but the back was on the grass area at the back and to put an awning up would need part of it to be on the grassy area also, the car is parked at the front of the van. Far from ideal. Although the disabled facilities are well thought out, the concern again is about the lighting which goes off leaving the person who is using the amenities having to look in the dark.

A lovely warm welcome to a well maintained, secure and picturesque site. Facilities were clean and always warm. There was a dog walk on site. Meriden is 'the centre of England'and as such not too far from anywhere. The close surrounding area has many old and beautiful towns and villages but my undoubted favourite place was Cadburys-a must for all chocolate lovers.
The site owners and staff were helpful and friendly.
The laundry service was second to none and the site was secure thanks to a code entry at the entrance which was changed every week.Even the wildlife provided much entertainment ie squirrels bombarding all below with acorns-fun fun fun.Hope to be back next year.

One word sums up this site. excellent.
Ange and Mark bent over backwards to help us and were willing to squeeze us in extra nights if it helped us out as I was undergoing treatment at a hospital.
The toilets were spotless and a the showers had a constant supply of hot water.
There were plenty of water points and the whole site was incredibly secure.
Everyone on the site was very friendly and chatty.
The village of Meriden is just up the road and the chip shop did excellent fish and chips. The pub food was also ok. There are local shops to buy any other necessities.
Birmingham was only 20 mins or so away.
This was a brilliant week away and I'll definitely be returning in the near future.

Booked in advance for a 2 night break and found Sue extremely helpful, The site is very easy to find and like others thought the park was in a lovely setting with very nice clean showers and toilets. We didn't take a dog with us on this occasion but did have a walk around and would say it had some good areas to exercise one. Only negative is that when I booked I was asked if I wanted to put up an awning which I didn't and we were allocated a pitch by the gate which was only big enough for our caravan and the car parked along side, it did feel a bit like we had been left in the car park! albeit a very nice car park and in future would ask for a pitch on the main site. We will be visiting again very soon and I can see this becoming a regular destination for our W/e breaks.

We had 2 nights on this site in July 2010. We received a very warm welcome and were shown to a nice spacious pitch near the toilet/shower block as we had requested.
The showers were lovely and facilities were very clean although there were only 2 showers and the inevitable queue. Only issue was the location of the washing up area right behind the open windows of the toilet block which removed any sense of privacy.
We did find that the noise from the motorbikes in the quarry broke the tranquillity.
Village nearby was lovely and had a good shop and an excellent fish and chip shop.
We would visit this site again.

Visited the site after booking in advance. The welcome was very friendly and the site very easy to get to just off the motorway. It is so peaceful and quiet the only sounds are the birds.
Its a short walk to the shops which include spar fish and chips and co-op. The toilet block is spotless and the showers are hot and powerful. The local pub The bulls head serves great food but does sometimes get a little busy if there are events on at the N.E.C. But we didn't have any problems finding a table. The fish and chip shop is superb and also for eating out the Masala club in Balsall Heath 8-10 mins away by car is excellent.
We would not hesitate to return even though the site is only 40 mins from where we live. Wardens are very friendly and helpful and security provided by a gate with code entry is excellent. In short cant fault it.
P.S look out for the woodpecker on the nuts outside the info hut.
