We visited this site to visit the nec caravan and camping show would highly recommended to anyone going to the nec.

Birmingham town centre was just a short drive

The facilities was spotlessly clean staff was was more then helpful

Next time would book a fully serviced pitch.

Thanks for a great stay Jack & Linda

We had a friendly reception on arrival, though I felt the charge of £8 for 3 days slow wi fi connection was a rip off. It was disappointing that the office didn't even sell milk or bread, as it was a good 15 minute walk into local shops.

The site was very pleasantly set out, but not a scenic view as it was a flat landscape.

The major disappointment was the toilet block. This was meant to be heated, but the heating was only on for 3 hours twice a day. This was not sufficient in the Winter weather, and it didn't feel warm when you walked in. The gap under the external door and lack of vestibule didn't help either. However, the showers were good: not push buttons, a wide shower head, and a good flow of hot water. A seat in the shower cubicle would have been welcome, though there were plenty of hooks.

I didn't understand why there were so many notices telling us that we weren't allowed to leave our dog unattended in the motorhome. This seemed like unecessary rule making, and sets the wrong tone for me.

The Heart of England club in Meriden was a great place to watch the rugby and football on TV on the Sunday afternoon. It was very friendly, and the drinks and food (hearty pie and chips), were very reasonably priced.

We didn't have an OS map with us of this area, and the maps in the information cabin were old and faded. Many attractions are a short drive away, and once we have camped we prefer not to move the van again, so there wouldn't be enough in this area to attract us for a second visit.

Just returned from a three night stay with the intention of visiting Coventry for the first time. This site is perfectly placed for both Birmingham and Coventry, with a 25 minute walk to the village giving access to the half-hourly bus service to both cities.

We were impressed with both the location and the facilities. Good sized hard standing pitches, a well maintained site, and good facilities to boot.

Not too attractive in a damp, grey midwinter as you can imagine, but plenty of open countryside adjacent despite its location between the two conurbations.

The staff obviously work hard to keep up the standard, and it shows.

Add the local amenities and its proximity to the NEC - ideal.

This is a very well kept adults only campsite, the toilet & shower facilities are immaculate and the wardens were friendly and very helpful, The site is situated in a heavily wooded area therefore there is an abundance of wildlife however it is quite dark due to being surrounded by large trees, Meriden village is about a mile up the road (which is quite busy although there is a footpath), the village has a convenience store, a couple of pubs and an excellent Chippy. It is very well situated being only 4 miles from the NEC complex and Birmingham Airport (you can hear the planes taking off but its not obtrusive) and Hampton in Arden train station is only 2 miles away. Will definitely use this site again.

Just returned from a wonderful relaxing break at friendly Somers Wood and what a lovely site it is. The site and pitches are very well kept and we found the pitches particularly spacious. Toilets, showers and dishwashing area all kept spotless. Fish and chip shop in Meriden about a mile away is excellent (the mushy peas are beautiful and not the usual slop). We didn't get chance to try the Bulls Head, but we did pop in to view the menu and it looked very good. Dog walking area straight off site down an old disused lane is very handy, just a shame that some people can't be bothered to pick up after their dogs, even though there is a dog waste bin provided right at the gate into/out of the site, so watch where you're walking after dark! We liked this place so much (and the fact it is less than 20 miles away from where we live) we are already planning our next visit here. Many thanks to all the staff for keeping everywhere so lovely.

We have just returned from a 2 night stay, visiting family in Rugby.

The site is beautiful, with fantastic facilities. Showers large and roomy, although used own shower. Everywhere spotlessly clean and cared for. Only met one member of staff, I think her name was Tracey, very friendly and helpful!

Only downside we found, was the Golf Club close to the site. There must of been a party on in the club, and could hear the base of the music over the tv in the caravan. It was like having a thumping head! Although this is in no way anything to do with the site!

We would go back when visiting again, and have everything crossed the club is quieter next time!

We were met by a lovely lady warden who made us very welcome. The site was very well kept and the shower block was spotless. Our dog was very impressed by the walks around the adjacent golf course and we were made very welcome in the clubhouse in the evenings. The walk to the village was not too arduous and there is a nice selection of shops there and a couple of pubs. The bus there and back finishes around 18:30 but the drivers are very kind and drop you at the end of the lane to the site. Coventry is only a short bus ride away and is well worth a visit. We will definitely return in the future.

Stayed for 3 nights whilst attending a weekend function at the Hilton Hotel at the NEC. The site is very attractive - had planned to fish as well, but weather decided me to have a 3rd day at UK Games Expo and stay the 3rd night. Wardens very helpful, despite my late arrival, forgetfulness, and inability to add up !

Loved the rabbits popping out in the evening - overflying geese in the early morning were noisy. But hardly complaint-worthy ! Aircraft noise from Elmdon was noticeable but not too bad, likewise traffic noise from M42/A45. Walk into Meriden was indeed about 30 mins (for me), but very straightforward, pavement all the way and safe, even at 1 AM. 900 bus service into Coventry (or to NEC/Brum)was excellent, as was the fish and chip shop by the green. The best thing about the toilet block was the timed heating and the fact that it STAYED warm - brilliant ! So many blocks are freezing when you want a shower this one is great !

Another pleasant stay at Somers Wood, the toilet and shower block is spotless and a credit to the wardens who clean them. Each time we visit there has usually been an upgrade, last one being the covered laundry/washing up facilities, so much better well done Somers wood maintenance team! Also the new ramps to the water points are excellent. The staff at somers are very pleasant and helpful and are always there to give a helping hand. The shops are handy up in the village and only a 15 minute walk away. Buses are at the ready to take you into coventry / Birmingham / NEC. We shall definitely be returning next year!
