Been to Greenhill 3 times now, fishing + no kids does it for me. Pitches are well drained so don't worry about going early season.
If you are fussy about toilet and shower facilities this might not be the place for you. The facilites are built in portacabins, clean and fit for purpose, but no more.
Local pubs are all about one mile away, some of them over the new forest common and make a pleaseant walk. Remember your compass and torch though if heading that way!
A number of pitches are next to the lakes allowing fishing from your awning (booking essential). The fishing is challenging to say the least, the ponds are relativly small and fished year round resulting in very wary carp! Beware of the new lake near the camping field, I fished it for two days and did not see any evidence of a single fish. It is very shallow and I suspect the stock has not lasted the winter.

April 2005 Have just got back from a lovely week end this is our second time here, We love the peace and quiet around the Lakes. The staff are very helpful and polite. A nice site to stay on where facilities are basic but clean, They have put in extra showers and Toilets and have a laundry room. and a dish washing area with plenty of hot water. We take our dogs and enjoy the walks through the forest. We will be staying there again when time allows.

June 2004 We stayed here for 2 nights, and it was a lovely place to stay, good walks for the dogs, and we were parked by the lakes and it was lovely. The showers and toilets were clean and plenty of hot water. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It is an adult only site which was nice if you want some peace and quiet, and they allow disposable BBQ's. We are going to stay there again soon.

July 2004 Lovely place to visit. The toilets and showers are basic but clean and tidy. There is a woodland walk at the end of the X2 tent field which takes you into the New Forest. Also no kids under 18 allowed. Wow. Like being in heaven. Will go back and visit again without question. A+ park.

22.12.2003 Very sparse site, but very friendly welcome and peaceful tranquil setting. Ideal for a getaway from it all weekend. We have our own shower and toilet on board so did not need to use campsite facilities. From what we could see they were very basic, but clean and easily accessible. Will visit again, for a no kids quiet weekend.

August Bank Holiday 2003 Superb camp site.
Not overly busy if you shower at the more obsqure times.
Toilets were clean and always had toilet paper!! lots of hot water.
Only comment would be that more toilets would have been better, not that they were overly busy just it was a fair trek if you were in one of the top fields.
They have a great system that if you are a couple or group party they seperate you, all the groups are together as there is the potential for more noise. only point would be you have to walk through the middle of the single tent field for the loo's!!
All in all considering it was a bank holiday we were all plesantly surprised at the peace and quiet!!
Would go back again.

July 2003 We found this site in a camping guide when we were looking for something near the New Forest, but not quite in it.
It's a nice little site, which is adults only, and has facilities for both caravans and tents. The camping fields are to the rear of the site on a sloping field with soft, springy turf.
Toilets/showers are portaloos which were in a reasonable condition, with unlimited hot water (not pay as you go). Not the cleanest I have ever seen, but perfectly adequate. Washing up facilities were a bit basic and the hot water in that area was tepid, which I wasn't so happy with.
You can refreeze your freezer blocks at the main office for a small fee. There are some lovely local pubs and shops within a short drive.
Also, you can walk straight out of the site into the countryside if you don't fancy a drive to the New Forest. And getting to the NF is easy - it's minutes away on country roads.
There's also fishing available onsite if you're into that, and there's a dog-walking area provided. Barbeques are allowed, and a disposal bin for hot ashes is provided.
Dogs are actively welcome, but unfortunately a lot of owners seemed to be ignoring the 'no fouling' signs, which was a shame, as it made walking near the ornamental lake a bit dicey!
Worth the money, and very handy if you want to do the New Forest slightly cheaper and less crowded than at full service Forestry Comission sites.

July 2003 Nicely positioned campsite for visiting the New Forest - there is gated access straight from the site. Nice dog walking area. We pitched our tent on the top field but couldn't stay as it was exceptionally windy. The only let down was the toilet/shower block: only 3 toilets and 3 showers for 4+ fields of tents is not a lot! Hot water, though! They're kept clean but needs to be more of them! Owners were extremely friendly and made us feel welcome. We may go back but when the weather is calmer and it's quieter so the toilets and showers are not so busy!
