Beautiful site, very friendly and helpful staff. The whole site felt peaceful and clean. Although the shower blocks are being replaced with modern units there was plenty of hot water at all times of the day.
If you are on the site near the lakes then beware of the ducks! They greet you the minute you unzip the tent in the morning and one in particular had perfected the art of looking like a poor starved duck who needed feeding but be warned - feed one and the whole flock arrive within seconds - but they are very friendly and it was lovely to hear them (we will have great memories of these ducks for some time).
The only downside to the site was the lane from the main road to the site but the owners told us that this was going to be tarmacced in the future.
Would recommend this site without hesitation and if we need to be in the area again will definitely stay here.

OK, so I hadn't been camping for 30 years and I was not looking forward it but after the tents were purchased for 30 pounds each from e-bay last October(for Glastonbury tickets that we never got!) we decided to use them!
You now have a covert to camping! The site was fab - I know that I have nothing to compare it with but pitches 412/413 in the adult only section are quiet and tucked away and with a view of the lake. I was dreading going to a camp site with all the tents on top of one another but not our pitch. And whats this - electrical hook up - that wasn't there 30 years ago!
The new toilet block had just been completed and the rest of the loos etc are in the middle of being upgraded. The site appeared to drain well after the heavy rain we had on the friday night and no mud problems appeared!
There was a kids playground in the family area and a games room with table tennis/pool/air hockey etc and a large play space.
We walked to 4 different pubs and didn't use the car the whole 4 nights we were there. We are walkers thou - the Royal Oak was 4 miles away but worth the walk on the hottest day of the year so far! The Lamb is your nearest pub (approx 30 mins walk - don't forget torches)and we did some lovely walks in the area.
Don't come to this campsite if you want a club house etc - peace and quiet is what you are going to get and if you are a fisherman then you have the well stocked lakes as well.
Be prepared for a bit of goose/duck poo but we enjoyed watching mum and dad goose with their 17 youngsters! If you are in the adult only/no dogs section there is only one shower in each of the ladies/gents and they could have put a washing up area in this block as well but apart from that - it is thumbs up from this virgin camper!

We came here for the first week of this summer holidays and had a FAB time, the staff are just so friendly and helpful, the site was clean and spaced out so not all cramped together.
There is a walkway which leads into the New Forest with loads of different animals, not just the ponies. The owners are in the middle of building a new shower / toilet block but have demountables to use at the moment which are not the most flattering but they all have hot running elec showers and both those and the toilets are kept very clean !
We stayed on Forest View (opposite the kids play area) with Elec hookup to our motorhome pitched next to my brother and his family in their tent with our friends pitched opposite in their tent, lovely spot as all their children could happily play in the kiddie area while we sat around our tents watching them.
We had a takeaway dinner from on site the day we arrived which was only a burger and chips but was worth the money!
It is a quiet site (no noisy clubhouse - which we like) but ample of room for kid's and adult's to run about young or old
We are definitely going back next year to explore the area some more and will be staying at Greenhills again.

Thought this to be an excellent site even with the basic portable toilets/showers which always seemed spotless to me. Had a superb pitch overlooking the lake in the adult only section where we were visited by ducks, geese and the resident cat. Abundant wildlife in the surrounding woodland and nearby New Forest. Not much to do though if it rains, walked to one of the nearest pubs The Lamb which took me half an hour along the road, tried to walk to it by the back gate through the woods, cattle and horses but got lost. The nearest shop is also about a half hour walk too. There is an hourly bus service which passes by to either Salisbury or Southampton but didn't use it. As others have said this site is being developed. Paid £17/night for two with ehu.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.
The location is well away from the road and the main pitches are a 10 minute walk from the New Forest which was great. The first of the new toilet blocks was open and when the rest have been replaced the site will be top notch.
Pitches were a good size with plenty of services.
We did not use the on site take away. Local pubs are not too far but probably better as a short drive than a long walk.
We'll definitely be back.

Returned to this site being curious as to how many changes had been made since our last visit, the new owners are upgrading everything and the site is still fantastic full of wildlife, space.
Although reading other peoples comments some do not seem happy with the toilets and showers, these are ok the owners are trying to get a new block built, they are basic and clean yes the floor gets muddy in wet weather but you are on a campsite with earth and grass, there is a mop and bucket in every unit,
The toilets are clean and never run out of toilet roll. There is a new washing up area outside the showers which is uncovered but the original undercover one is still there.
On this break I organised a group party of 10 adults and 5 unders 4's everyone loved the site without any complaints and we will be returning next year.

Stayed for one night and we were in the Golden Meadow area (tents only allowed here) as didn't want EHU. This area is made up of 4 separate fields (one of which had a dedicated family only section) and we were able to pitch where ever we liked.
There was a mix of families and couples in all areas. We stayed in a section with only 3 tents, right next to the lake. Good flat, well drained, soft ground.
Showers/toilets have been refurbished this year (whilst they wrangle with planners re new building) and are of an acceptable standard and were kept pretty clean.
The area with ELU appeared to be very busy with tents and caravans on top of each other, though they could have been groups together. That area is also right opposite the play area & games room. The rest of the Golden Meadow is very spacious and was pretty quiet with just a bit of talking after dark.
Can't comment on the shop or takeaway as never used them. (Takeaway only open Thurs-Sun. Overall a great site and would recommend it.

Well my boyfriend and I just returned from a four day break at Green hill farm. It is a lovely location if you are interested in the wildlife, there is a field of cows and calves right next door, which is nice to see, though as you can imagine, can be an early wake up call
We walked through the back gate of the campsite which opens up onto a field with horses, wild pigs, etc wondering around. If you continue walking through an area of woodland you will reach a road, follow that a little way and you will come across animals just roaming over the fields and road. Most are very friendly and was certainly a highlight in my opinion. The donkeys were particularly cute (especially the baby ones)!
Both being adults we presumed to be placed in the adult field however we were put in the family area, which was fine, though a little noisy. Tip: perhaps if you want to be in the adult only area you should ask!
Weather was dismal, rained pretty much most of the time but we still had a great time! You can pitch your tent wherever you want in the designated field so just hope other campers don't come and pitch their tent right next to you! (You know they will)!
The toilets and showers still hadn't been updated, though we thought they were meant to have been. There was a lot of mud on the floor so it was a bit of a mission trying to get the clothes back on after a shower without stepping, falling or slipping into the mud! (Though this was probably made worse by the weather we had)!
The pubs did not seem close, we did not attempt walking there and don't think it would be a good idea at night as a significant distance!
The campsite has a room with a couple of pool tables and air hockey however there is no light, so once it is evening you will need to take a torch with you.
We visited Longleat (about an hour and a half away due to traffic around Salisbury) which was good though I am going to be honest, we preferred the area with the animals walking freely at the back of the campsite since you could freely go up to them and pat them!
So, price was a bit much (£23 a night) for the toilets and no electric, p.S don't take straighteners etc, though I'm sure you know not to, but just in case you were thinking, there are no plugs, unless you get the electric hook ups. However the area makes up for it and the toilets are due at some point soon to be refurbished so once they have been it will be a perfect site.
The campsite rents out bikes which are £12 each for the day, we wanted to do this but unfortunately were not so keen on cycling in the rain!
Overall we would recommend this but wait till the toilets and showers have been refurbished!

As per previous reviews the toilets and shower facilities are not even 2nd rate, we have visited a number of other campsites that have water points at the pitch with outstanding shower/toilet facilities, along with wifi, all this at a fraction of the cost of Greenhill.
Greenhill Farm at £23 a night is overpriced for what you get, the toilets/showers never seemed to be cleaned and are definitely in need of refurbishment.
The washing up area is outside with no roof, we had to constantly clean leaves and debris from the sinks.
The local pub 'The Red Rover' was the best part of our holiday, the food was excellent along with the service.
Would not recommend and will not be going back.

We stayed for a weekend in the adults only area by the pond called Wild Haven. The owners are very friendly and helpful, and we were pitched closest to the shop which was great! The shop is tiny but sells everything you need, including fresh eggs, cold wine and beer, etc. Also a friendly sweet cat on campsite called Bandit.
The attraction for me was the adults-only area, which meant no annoying children making noise at 6am! It really worked. In the family section, which we drove through to get to our pitch, there was a large play area and several showers and toilets so I'm sure it would be fine for families. You can also get tea, coffee and burgers and fish and chips at a takeaway van if you don't want to make your own.
We walked into the New Forest via the on-site access gate and saw a couple of wild pigs (fortunately at a distance), several ponies and cows so it was definitely the full experience all within about 2 hours.
We walked to a pub in Landford called the Lamb Inn, which had fantastic food and a gorgeous beer garden full of flowers. It's about a mile walk assuming you don't get lost following the path through the forest which we did, so it ended up being 2 miles. Be careful when following the map!
The only negative about this site was that on the pond there were lots of Canada geese, and therefore lots of geese poo literally everywhere. We didn't sit on the ground or even want to put a blanket on the ground to sit on. Everyone in this area was sitting on chairs. I also didn't like how the geese tended to rush up to people when they heard rustling, expecting food but then I'm a wimp! I found them a bit scary but mainly they stay on their own.
Although there was only 1 toilet for ladies in this area, there was never a wait and it was always clean. We had to walk quite a long way to get to the showers as some are being renovated. My shower wasn't very good (really hot, then really cold) but they are free and my boyfriend said his shower was fine.
I would stay at Green Hill again, but not on the pond with all the geese!
