We had a great four nights over the bank holiday. We were in the adults only area that allowed dogs with EHU.
The facilities were to be expected from the previous reviews, very outdated but they were kept clean. Whilst we were there they were in the process of refurbishing them as they had still not received planning permission for the new blocks.
Some of the pitches appeared quite small, our neighbours had no where to park their car as there wasn't enough room at the side of their tent. We were not too sure where to park ours until the caravan took the pitch next to us and left us enough room.
The owners are very hot on making people keep their dogs on the lead which is good as it prevents them running loose around the site.
There is a dedicated dog walk which runs around the site which is good, although the site could do with having a field where the dogs are allowed to run free to stop them feeling so constrained.
Be warned, you have to love nature to stay here as it can be quite noisy first thing in the morning with the birds and braying donkeys. You will need insect repellent too as there are quite a few midges.
Overall a good site which I would return to if they manage to get the new toilet and shower blocks built.

We spent a lovely few days here over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend, not totally hampered by the rather unpredictable weather!
Overall were pleased with the site and the helpfulness of the owners. The family camping area was a little small though and many of the pitches rather waterlogged and boggy - of course the children loved jumping in the muddy puddles and the mud churned up by the numerous cars that got stuck! If you are booked to stay in the family area with EHU over the next few weeks I would be tempted to call ahead and check the condition of the pitches.
The toilets are old and definitely in need of replacing however I believe this will not be happening as soon as the owners had hoped. They are however clean and regularly checked, albeit that the showers are a little hit and miss!
This is a nice little site with lots of potential. Its great to have a playground for the little ones but I agree that a little more thought is needed in developing this site for families.

The day we arrived at this site it was very wet however we do not mind pitching in the wet. We did however mind being given a tent pitch on a field that was so boggy and wet that as soon as we put the tent pegs in they were ripped right out of the ground again! When I asked to move pitch, I was told there was no where more sheltered on the site so I suggested a pitch and was able to move there (it was much more sheltered).
The site itself is nice but the shower blocks did not appear to be clean and there was nothing in either of the toilets we had access to to dry your hands on.
It is a shame that in such a beautiful location this site could be better.

The owners of this site were very helpful in letting us pitch our tent a night early due to the weather. My hubby unfortunately didn't like the site on arrival as he felt we were a bit hemmed in in the Forest View field (well, it's not really a field!).
Our pitch unfortunately was completely waterlogged and we spent the whole week squelching about!
The toilet and showers are far better than I was expecting after reading other reviews, and the play area was excellent.
I did feel, however, like the poor relations as the adult only field was far superior to the family areas! Children (even exceptionally well behaved ones) are not allowed to fish with their parents in this field, and the washing machine etc is over there. I wasn't allowed to go through with my son to do the washing!
The lakes are also a bit more geared to the adults, with far more fish in the adults only one, 11 hours of fishing and nothing caught in the family one!
All in all the site is very nice, just feel they could be a bit more family friendly and understand that not all children run riot and would ruin the 'adult' fishing experience!. Also, the Forest View bit could have a bit more space between units.
A bit more thought and this could be one of the loveliest sites about.

A lovely site, family area separate from adults only. My children loved the play area and there are fantastic walks right from the site which do not involve crossing main roads, and can be kept short for litlle legs! We walked to the local pub; 'The Lamb' - delicious food but I would not recommend the walk back in the dark, due to no footpaths. Definitely a car and a volunteer driver next time. The owners were very helpful and friendly. A little Gem!

We stayed for a weekend in the adults only area overlooking one of the lakes, it was a nice pitch and a beautiful spot. The site is let down by its toilet facilities though. The showers were unusable in my opinion as they were dirty and in some cases didn't have a door to the shower cubicle, just a curtain. We opted to use our own facilities instead. We recognise that the new owners are working on improving things, and the sooner they sort out those showers the better.

We visited this site over the Bank Holiday and agree with the previous comment. The owners didn't hide anything regarding the facilities. I did attempt to use the showers once, but all three that I tried were just a drizzle of water out of the shower head and either too hot or too cold. My husband said the male showers were fine. I believe there are plans to update these in 2010.
Apart from that, you couldn't fault the site. We were in the Woodland Grove area, which is adult only. It was lovely and peaceful at a busy time of year.
There is a snack van on site and small shop.
It is just on the top outskirts of the New Forest, which was excellent for us coming from the North. We had a nice bike ride to get to the New Forest and passed through a lovely village where a local fate was going on, with dog shows, cheese rolling, etc.
Compared to the other sites I looked at for the New Forest, it is excellent value for money.
There was a local pub which is just a mile from the site. However I cannot comment on the food as we didn't visit.
We visited Marwell Zoological park which was about a 25 minute drive away. It was a very good day out and the work they do is excellent.
I would definitely recommend this site if you can put up with the shower facilities. We were in a tourer so it wasn't too bad for us.

(have already given review once) Have been back again(bank holiday weekend) just as lovely although weather was not as good (had plenty of hot water in the shower even at 11 in the morning) My partner likes it there for the fishing and I like it for the peace and quiet if offers you can hardly hear the noise from the family site. Was lucky enough to see the Deer in the wood right next to the toilet block on adult site what a wonderful site. The owner and her team do a wonderful job but the toilets do honestly need up dating do not expect this not be be true. Will be going again before the end of the year.

We booked this site to take our nieces and nephew to for a long weekend. We were pitched in the EHU field on a hardstanding pitch (not what we had booked and consequently had a lot of trouble putting our awning up). We were opposite the play area and games room which the children enjoyed using, and our nephew loved playing football on the field. The downside was that every car that entered the site drove within inches of our awning, much too fast given the number of children running about!
We knew that the toilets and showers were basic from reading the reviews here. However we were not prepared for the fact that the toilets smelled and the showers were dirty. The showers had really seen better days and seemed to spurt in every direction other than down. The hot water was very temperamental and there was often no hot water to wash up in.
The site is on the edge of the New Forest and we enjoyed walking from the site, particularly in the quiet of the evening. The pub at Nomansland looked nice but made us sit in the garden in the rain with the children. The swimming pool in Salisbury was excellent and allowed children in free during the whole school holiday - a bonus on a very wet day!
If the toilets and showers are improved to the same standard as the play areas this would be a very nice site for family camping. We found it a bit pricey, but I think that's because we don't camp in this area usually.

Just returned from 4 nights at Green Hill Farm, loved the park can't wait to return when the ablution situation is sorted but I am sure they will make a good job, there is plenty of room to build super shower blocks on all fields. We did not leave the park having the motorhome but the peace was brilliant, watching deer, birds etc,one thing I couldn't get was Sky TV at the top of the adults field due to the trees and also I would advise a 10ft high aerial for Freeview (I know I'm tele mad)all in all a great break.
