We visited for 5 nights with our 2 berth caravan and awning, 2 adults and 2 small dogs, staying in the adult only part of the site. Positives include the location, perfect for the New Forest and seeing our relatives in Salisbury. The toilet blocks were modern and very clean. There were many walks round the site to take the dogs, wooded and grass. You can also access the New Forest itself from the site for longer walks. The information cabin had good maps and the usual leaflets. Sadly we had several disappointing niggles about the site which would probably mean we won't be back as there are plenty of other better sites around for the price. Our welcome was quite brisk, we weren't shown to our pitch, just given a map with no instructions on how to align the caravan. In contrast to other reviewers, we hardly ever saw members of staff around, except in reception. Our pitch was very small. I don't ever recall one so packed in. By the time the awning was up, the car crammed in beside it, we were left with a very small stony place to sit and to tether the dogs, in hot sun. There were bigger pitches but most seemed occupied with seasonal pitches. On Friday night a very large party of young adults camped on the grass quite close to us. They were very noisy, obviously had no idea of how sound carries in the open and in tents. They also had no idea how to use a mop in the showers. They would have been much better pitched in one of the large camping fields. The gate to access the adult part of the campsite had to be opened by hand which was a minor inconvenience. There were no recycling bins in the adult only site. Plastic flowers in hanging baskets finished off the feeling this site was run as a business by employed staff rather than as a family concern. On leaving, we had to return the gate key to get our deposit back. A young man on duty has having problems with the computer and my presence was not acknowledged for about 10 minutes. When I finally gave him my key, my name apparently didn't match with their records and he implied quite rudely that I'd picked up someone else's. After much confusion he reckoned I'd been given the wrong key at the start of the holiday. 15 minutes later we were able to leave. All small niggles, but they added up to a disappointing site for the money albeit in a perfect location.

We chose Green Hill Farm from a supplement that come with Practical Caravan Magazine 'Top 100 Sites Guide 2014' for the first week of the Easter Holidays as we were looking for a site that had a good play park and somewhere for the boys to kick a football about without getting told off!

Between us we had three adults five children ages 15, 14, 10, 10 & 5 and a dog! We booked two hard-standing pitches for our caravans (7. 2m long) they fitted well and we also put up awnings.

The site was perfect in front of our pitches we could see the children's park and zip wire and in the distance the football pitch, the toilet and shower block was lovely and clean with plenty of hot water, we hired the key (£10.00 deposit) for family bathroom beautifully thought out age appropriate toilets with a small bath and shower cubicle and it was kept lovely and warm!

There was a club house which wasn't open when we were there so can't comment.

Lovely dog walk around the site past the fishing lake and you can go through a gate into the New Forest.

Site Owner (Lorna) was always around very helpful and pleasant, also they cook Pain au Choc-lat and Croissant which you order the day before which were delicious!

Would definitely return!

We have spent 3 nights here and were delighted to find that our pitch was beside one of the lakes where we could watch the ducks, geese and moorhens morning, noon and night. This area is for adults only ( ideal for us). There are plenty of trees and the whole area is relaxing and peaceful. This is a well- thought out site with a clearly defined family area. We had to drive through this and we also walked around the site via this circular route. The play area was well-constructed and appeared safe- it was fenced off from the driveway too. The staff were very much in evidence during the day and seem to be engaged in maintaining a good environment for everyone as well as developing new facilities. There is a parking area by the main gate which is ideal if you have visitors or are just popping back to the site for a short time. It was very quiet at night and a lovely place to wake up to in the morning. As well as the shop in reception there is an information point/ reading area which has a supply of books ( to borrow ) and leaflets and information on things to do. Overall, this was a very enjoyable break and we would like to return some time in the future.

We have just returned from Green hill Farm - The main purpose of our visit was to take our 2 small children to Peppa Pig World and this campsite fitted the location perfectly not just for Paultons Park (10 minutes drive away) but also other family attractions within a good hour and a half drive. So location scores highly.

The site itself is lovely, and I would recommend it- but with a few observations.

The site itself has two sections a family area and a adult only section. And when they say adult only, they mean it. We could not even enter with our children to go on a walk around the site. The reason we were told, was because of the two fishing lakes that were located on this area. I have to say I did find this a little bit of a rubbish excuse, as parents are we not able to be responsible for keeping our children safe?

And the adults entering this secluded spot had to drive through the family area to get to their child free haven. We were trusted to keep our children safe by the road but not by the water, or maybe I'm being silly?

The family area was split into different areas. The main lower site was were we were sited not quite but very nearly opposite the play area. We felt this area fitted the bill perfectly for older children. We have a 5 year old and a 3 year old and the area in the evening was far from quiet, the older children - quite rightly - were having a great time playing on the park or playing tig, but when we were trying to settle toddlers this wasn't fun for us. Likewise in the morning, when you have early risers versus the teenage sleepers, we were aware that we were making the noise in the morning, so that being said we would ask to be pitched on the Top camping field which did have electrics and was not in the thick of the central play area if we returned.

The play area is terrific and fitted the needs of a variety of ages, a play house, swings and a fabulous zip wire were some of the attractions.

The facilities were also great, a family bathroom is available for a deposit for the key and that was a great help. The club house is quaint and has fun evenings on, games night bingo etc and you could buy take aways if required.

We would return to Green Hill but definitely would ask to be off the main Family field. All our families are different I appreciate that, but for us a quieter pitch would have made it perfect. To be fair to the Wardens if we had asked to move then we got the impression that this would have been acceptable, we only queried the other spots after having a wander round the site on day 2 and the thought of striking camp and pitching again was too daunting a task. So when we asked for future reference what the name of the are was we had chance to explain it wasn't that ideal for us. We could have easily stayed another week there is so much to do in this area, and the countryside is just beautiful.

Booked 4 nights but only stayed 3. Asked for a pitch overlooking lake as our dogs relax more if they don't have people walking back and for constantly. Didn't get one sadly. Consequently, youngest dog was spooked by everyone. Stayed in tent with 3 border collies. Have stayed before, last year. Kept our dogs tethered/on lead as requested. Disappointed that a group arrived on our 3rd day with a spaniel who was left to run free. Also, were very noisy until early hours. Very disappointing when we tried so hard to keep our dogs quiet. Did inform reception when we left a day early and got an apology but it spoiled our trip.

New facilities being built in adult section will be most welcome when open.

Direct access to common via a dog walk

Lovely spot, nice open fields for free style camping. Family area looked quite congested this time.

Paid extra for taking two cars even though we parked both on our pitch. Bit disappointed this time.

Like other reviewers we stayed here due to its proximity to Peppa Pig world, it was no more than 10 minutes away.

We were staying as a party of 5 adults and 6 children.

When we arrived the lady on reception was not the most friendliest, however checked us in and told me where to pitch which was just by drawing a large circle on a map and saying pitch anywhere in there. When I asked if this was near our friends the reply was 'well if you don't want to pitch next to your friends. '

I later discovered there are no pitches it is a free for all.

The shower facilities are good, clearly fairly new. However I would not want to stay here if it was full to capacity as there is only 6 showers in the male block.

The children's play ground was good.

I didn't use the bar facilities and the on site shop is very limited, unless you are fishing which seemed to cater more for than being an on site convenience store. There was a Londis five minute drive down the main road.

The site as a whole did feel very secure as you paid a £10 deposit for a card to open the barrier.

One major downside and annoyance was the site donkey. The donkey acted like a cockerel and made the loudest 'Eeyore' every hour all through the night!

All in all a good campsite although did feel rather basic.

We had an excellent stay here last week. Washroom facilities were very good and the whole site was well maintained and looked after. You literally turn left out the campsite and your in the new forest with ponies and other animals grazing and owning the road! Take a right and you have a bp garage and shop open until 10pm as well as a few local pubs. There is another pub with an outdoor play area about 4miles away, food was good but not cheap, a pint of larger was £4. 25 too! I will be back soon!

Lovely site, tucked away in a quiet location away from roads. Fantastic facilities on the family side of the site. The log cabin toilets and showers were absolutely brilliant.

Helpful wardens. Good size pitches, the hook ups seemed quite a distance from certain pitches but our hook up reached ok.

This site is split into an adults only gated part and children/family friendly part. Its strictly adhered to. We found it a bit strange though that the adults have to drive round the family part of the site to reach their part. A bit annoying when they have a gate near reception they could use, this would save traffic going right past the children's play area. The play area had a good variety of equipment on it for the kids and very well maintained.

We stayed on two pitches with my parents who brought their dog along. There is a nice fenced off dog walk area but dogs have to stay on the lead even on this.

You have to vacate your pitch by 11.00am but for just an extra £4.00 you can stay until 4.00pm which is excellent value.

Just spent a very nice weekend at this site. We used it for a trial run as we are new to caravanning. Staff seemed nice and if they are not in reception there is a number to call. We stayed in the Adult only area which is split in to 2, 1 of which is a dog free area. Entry to the site is via a key card and a deposit is required for this which is returned when you hand in card on departure.

The site has some old shower toilet blocks but also a new block which was very clean and even had piped music in it. The site also has family area with what looks like a newly built play area with climbing frames and a small zip wire and a club house with a take away van outside (this was not open during our stay). This area also has a new toilet/shower block, with a family bathroom. The site is in the process of building another new toilet shower block in the adult only area.

The site has got 3 lakes all stocked with fish (I was told by a fisherman the fish in the lakes take some catching but they are there). Most pitches are hard standing and level with electric hook-ups.

The reception has a small shop in it which stocks the basic essentials including wine and beer. You can also order fresh bread/croissants/pain du chocolate and papers,

The dog walk is fenced in and a nice distance it is along this that the access to the forest is situated.

All in all a very pleasant site.

We stayed for a weekend in September when the site was quiet and found this a great site but were very disappointed with the direct access to the forest they advertise, this turned out to be a very short walk in a woodland setting, with no access to the forest itself. They do have dog walks around the site which helped make up for it. Apart from that we found the site a good one. We stayed in the adults only section by the lake the facilities are good with a proper motor home service point. The showers in the adults section were in poor condition, but we understand these are the last ones on the site to be replace, we checked the new ones in the other sections and they were new and very good.

There is a pub on the main road and another in a nearby village, but too far for us to walk.
