 Spent 3 nights at this site. Catriona the owner has created a fabulous site, the facilities are modern, immaculately clean and in a great location for those who like to walk, fish or cycle and is a good base to tour North and South Uist.
The site had only been open for about a month when my husband and I visited, it was clear a lot of thought had gone into what campers are looking for in a good site. This was by far the best of the 3 sites we stayed at in the Hebrides, we drove into a couple and straight back back out again.
There is handy well equipped campers kitchen, with an oven, electric hob, microwave, washing machine and tumble dryer. (both of which are very reasonably priced at £3 a load. The toilet block is atached to the old farmhouse which has been converted into a 3 bedroom bunkhouse (@ £14 per night it is good value).It was nice to have a shower that wasn't timed or to constantly have to push a water saving on/of button. We paid £19 per night for electric hook up and hardstanding for our touring caravan. There was reasonable space for each pitch, a separate fenced area with picnic benches. Disabled facilities have been included with a large disabled toilet and shower room.
The site has a great outlook, looking out to sea and across the bay from Benbecula airport. It is well located for several good resturants all selling local produce. Catriona is very helpful with advice on local attractions, and the best places to eat and drink. Unfortunately we missed out on a few, which is a perfect excuse for us to return to this great site.
