This is possibly the best campsite I have ever been to in 50 years of camping (man and boy ).
The location is superb, toilet facilities fantastic (regularly cleaned at least twice a day), common room excellent and owners just wonderful people, proper bend-over-backwards-to-help types.
If you are going to the Outer Hebrides this is definitely THE place to camp.

We only had a 1 night stay at this site sadly. The site and facilities you wouldn't find better, everything you needed and more.
The toilets and showers immaculate as well as the site itself. The outlook was lovely even on a wet day.
Would definitely recommend.

Visited this site just recently on the basis of other reviews and are very pleased that we did. Really cannot fault this site at all.
Facilities were of a very high standard, setting fabulous, location ideal for visiting both north and south uists, and owners could not have been more helpful.
Price was excellent too, and we just wish other campsites could aspire to coming somewhere near! Would definitely recommend.

When we arrived our pitch was clearly marked and we were able to set up easily. Pitches are all hard standing, level and huge. Plenty of room between the units. Easy hook up.
There is a utility block which is also connected to the bunk house. The loos and showers were spotless, modern and well kept. (Even had soap in the wash basins) Disable loo and shower was as well appointed.
There is a ‘camper’s kitchen’ with cooker microwave and indoor seating for when the wind is to much for our tent brethren. Also a washing machine and tumble dryer all on an honesty pot scheme. There is a line to dry clothes outside but be warned it can get a bit breezy.
Faculties of emptying chemical loos (organic liquid only). Hose and fresh water to top up. There is a facility to empty grey water Lochmaddy, Berneray and Eriskay.
Lovely play area for the children. Swings, slide etc.
Hobbit homes looked amazing.
Lovely shore line walk when the tide is in, and when the tide is out you can walk for miles.
Owners are friendly without being in your face and obviously care a great deal about their site. There are pots with flowers everywhere and the grass is kept nicely short.
Spoilt for things to do and see, all local as Uist is only a small island. Several local supermarkets, you must visit the Hebridean Smokehouse, pate is to die for.
We when we return to Uist will use this site.
Thoroughly recommended.

This site is laid out to give everyone the best possible views of the bay - and what a bay this is! When the tide is in, the water is an unbelieveable shade of turquoise/green; when it is out, the flats are so huge that you can't see where the sea has gone.
There are little island areas dotted around the bay - all of which makes this one of the most superb sites for dog walks I have ever stayed at. You can have a dozen dogs out walking on those flats and out of site of each other at low tide - and the pawprints they leave behind helps you decide which way to go.
Be aware though that in places sheep also come down to the sands - you will usually see them in plenty of time to call in your dog. My 4 legged friend loved it to bits, and there is no doubt at all that he will want us to bring him back there.
The facilities on the site are good, clean toilets and warm showers (we didn't visit the kitchen/laundry hut so can't comment on those areas). The owners are very friendly and well informed about the area.

Great wee site, very welcoming, tidy with good dog walking.
Toilets and showers are very clean and there is a great campers kitchen, which has a table and chairs, washing and cooking facilities for those needing to get out of the weather.

This is the best site we've been to on the Hebrides, and probably anywhere! Location right by the sea.
Great facilities, well-kept, and even a little croft turned into a camper kitchen if the midges are getting too much.
Perfect if you're touring the Outer Hebrides.

Excellent very clean campsite with campers kitchen and laundry services
If weather is bad ( we had 60mph winds) then its possible to book a bed in the bunkhouse which is a very plush house with TV and excellent kitchen and wifi
We ended up staying longer due to high winds and lack of ferry to take us on to Harris but the facilities are excellent.
Relatively expensive at £8 per adult and £4 if children under 16
Bunkhouse which include linen is £20 per person per night

No need to look any further. This is the best site in the whole of the Outer Hebrides, by a long way! Iain & Catriona are the perfect hosts and are ever so friendly. We were in our caravan, but the camping pods and the bunk house looked amazing!
The pitches are gravel for the vans and there are plenty of grass areas for tents and a small play area for the kids. The view is great looking over the tidal bay which is great for kayaking and kite surfing too!
The facilities are spotless and although only 2 toilets and 2 showers for each, this was ample for the size of site. (Another site we stayed on in the OH had the same number and twice as many pitches!). The site is centrally located for touring the Uists which are beautiful.
You can get a ferry to Harris or Barra for the day too which is great. We stayed at many sites and this one had by far the better facilities. In Harris & Lewis you are basically wild camping and still paying £10-14 per night! They had no EHU and one site didn't even have a CDP! The boat trips look fun, although we didn't get a chance to go on one, but they often see dolphins. There are otter walks and wildlife walks all nearby.
The beaches are breathtaking and so quiet. I really want to tell everyone about this site but don't want the peaceful islands ruined by thousands of tourists going over at once! If you are out there, then beaches you must visit are Berneray, Baile Sear, Claddach Sands and Solas.
We visited this site 3 times whilst we were in the OH as it was that good. They also have a washing machine and tumble dryer but be prepared to queue as only 2 sites seem to offer these facilities! there is plenty of outdoor drying room if the dryer is busy.
Also we panicked thinking there wouldn't be many shops, but there are some Co-ops and local stores which have everything you could need including freeform sections. Maclennans is a great store on Benbecula and is only about 10 mins drive from Moorcroft.
This site gets 10/10 from us and we can't wait to go back. Enjoy it, but don't all go at once!

Well laid out, gravel hard standing pitches, mixed site with 'hobbit house' and bunkhouse but plenty of room and good views. There is a children's play area, nice kitted out campers kitchen with washer and dryer.
Owner lives on site helpful and friendly but not intrusive. Like most sites on Hebrides lots of single track road driving to reach site. Toilet block is clean, well laid out and comfortable, although only two toilets/showers for ladies.
Showers are hot and free along with hairdryer and straighteners provided! Wi-Fi also free and good connection. Overall the best site we visited on the Hebrides.
