Spent just over a week here- endured all weathers including rain, snow and sunshine. When we arrived the site was fairly quiet and we were able to choose our pitch - a but tricky as the ground was very wet. By Good Friday they were cramming them in. We were surprised at the noise that was permitted and when complained were told that the warden had walked around at 11 and it all seemed quiet. Perhaps we all have different levels of tolerance?
A beautiful location, clean toilets and mostly plenty hot water.

We have stopped at this site a few times in both a tent and trailer tent. The facilities are basic but clean and tidy. The view by the lake is wonderful and the staff are always helpful and are prepared to stop and chat and ask how things are. A club on site would spoil it. It does get very busy at peak times and if you insist on the 6 meter rule then this site is not for you. It looks like chaos sometimes but the owners are very good at ensuring you are not overcrowded by those around you. Some good walks nearby and Barnmouth isn't too far to drive to. Dougelli is not too far and if you like long walks or cycling the Dougelli to Barnmouth walk/cycle route is highly recommended.

Lovely site. Very busy while we were there, they were turning people away! Showers and toilets were good, lots of washing up sinks - only they are locked at 9:30pm so you have to get there early! We took our dogs and found that the exercise area was not very big but we found an empty field across the road to use and the dogs loved playing in the lake! Nice site - will visit again.

July 2005 The camp site was tidy & the toilets & shower blocks were very clean, but they ran out of hot water at times.
We visited with friends who had taken 2 dogs with them only to find there was only a very small area to exercise them [about the size of a tennis court] & no footpaths leading from the site. The lady in reception was no help in trying to find an alternative area.
It is only a short drive into Bala where there are plenty of pubs & shops & the White Water Rafting Cenrte is only another 5 minuites away.

April 2005 Lovely setting / views with nice clean facilities but were times when hot water ran out. Only down side for us was very few footpaths open for walking with dogs off the lead,(asked reception who didn't seem to be able to help) had to pay for our 2 dogs to stay on site which always niggles a bit, especially when the dog excersise area was very small, (bit frustrating when there are 2 large fields next to the site with no sheep in them!)Washing up area closed 9.30pm which was a bit of a pain to us eating later, not struck on doing a load of washing up before breakfast them doing more.

April 2005 Beautiful site, fabulous location. We are in a motorhome and parked on shingle beach next to lake (has 4 electric points on tree), stunning!!! Snowed while we were there and felt very sorry for the tenters. Lady owner made us feel very welcome, limited toilet/shower facilities as very quiet, but clean and tidy, and two other blocks for when they get busy. Definately in our favourites list, kids loved playing near the water and very peaceful, would imagine gets very busy in summer as in such a beautiful location.

July 2004 A nice campsite set about 10 minutes drive from the village of Bala on the edge of lake Bala.
Full facilities on site included a shop for the essentials, ice creams etc, very well maintained toilet and shower facilities, lots of large open space to play in, slipway and access to the lake, dily or weekly fishing and boating permits were available, a childrens playarea, however this was located by the entrance next the busy road, I for one did not let me two 9 & 5 on there on their own!
Site is seperated for hook-up and non-hookup and the best pitches are non-hookup, right by the lakeside so if you can live without power, it is worth it.
Stunning views from the site with numerous mountains in the backdrop.
Site is a bit remote if you fancy a decent family day out, there is not a great deal to do in the area, we travelled to Snowdonia for the day and the journey was a good 30 - 40 minutes.
Overall a site I would go back to if in area but next time will camp further into Wales than here.

June 2003 Lovely campsite, kiddies park a bit close to the road. Showers and toilets spotless, staff very friendly. MIdeal for fishing and watersports.
Plenty of room between caravans, not too cramped, nice and flat ground. Would definitely stay on this site again.

July 04 This site has a wondeful location right next to Bala Lake, the pitches are on the whole flat but tend to get boggy in wet weather. The site operates a pitch anywhere system. We had an enjoyable 3 days there except that on the weekend they 'pack em in' and we thought that the facilities although adequate during the week couldnt handle a busy summer weekend. The real attraction with the place, however is the lake and surrounding area which is great for walking, cycling or just sitting and staring at it.
