We had a really lovely weekend here. The fab weather helped I am sure. Was all last minute - late check in at 10pm was no problem at all. Owner is lovely.
Really well kept site. Lovely grass to pitch on (we didn't bother with groundsheet as grass was so nice and lush).
Good clean loos and free hot showers.
Really lovely location on the lake. Beautiful, relaxing views. Lots of families and adults with canoes, children paddling etc.
Lovely, happy atmosphere and very quiet after 10pm (but we were not there in school holidays).
Small shop on site for essentials. Co-op in Bala (5 mins drive) for more.
Only downside for us is the children's play area. Looked lovely but was situated outside the security barrier/reception, right next to the dog walking area and the road. We would not feel comfortable allowing a child to go to play there unattended and no seats for adults to sit while watching children play. So not v relaxing if child wanting to go to play there a lot.
If there were a play area inside the campsite then I think we would be back here whenever the sun shines.

Beautiful location with lovely views! The launching beach is also great for the canoes!
The facilities were basic but good and clean and showers were free. The pitches were well maintained and generous. There was a little shop in the reception area selling the very basics.
The cost for the night was a little steep but it was extremely last minute.

Spent 7 nights here mid April. We were only going to stay for a couple and then extended it as the site and area suited us so much. We camped near the lake which was great and were able to swim, with wetsuit as it was still very chilly! The facilities were good, the owner very nice. We loved the area and cycled most days in some amazing countryside. Bala is accessible by bike, and provides a range of shops etc. The only suggestion we would make is to resite the area for dumping grey water when in a motor-home as it wasn't very accessible.
It's definitely a site we would stay at again.

Lovely site, has great atmosphere. Pristine clean.
Stayed here many times and keep getting drawn back to it.
The shower and toilet facilities are of a high standard.
Lovely location next to the lake and brilliant if your into water sports and fishing.
Great base to explore North Wales. Site fees are not the cheapest but like I say lovely site and worth the money. Looking forward to returning.

In tent with EHU with son 9 and grown up daughter and parents in van on adjacent pitch.
Great site, well drained pitch. Grass being cut on day of arrival so was very neat.
Got very busy over the bank holiday weekend, had a good atmosphere, could hear lots chatting, laughing, music (not too loud) and people using their barbecues to have wood fires. (wood fires are allowed using proper BBQ or chimneas)
All was quiet after midnight which was good. On other nights no noise at all after about 10. 30pm even though was still pretty full.
Our pitch quite far from toilet block, could do with smaller block at other edge of site, although understand cost involved.
Toilets well stocked and clean, and free showers (notice states no showers between 11-5, but think this is to deter lake day visitors using them, as our son had hot shower mid afternoon okay)
Used lake for our inflatable kayak, shallow near camp site as site in a little eddy of the lake. Main lake can get deep further out, but safe for paddling for younger children at waters edge. You are meant to get a lake licence to use lake and warden does visit to check up. We only used lake for half hour at time so didn't get licence!
Shop stocks basics plus sweets/ice lollies/papers etc. Inc few camping items, pegs etc.
Playground is sited near entrance which is okay for our son as he's allowed a bit more freedom at age 9, but for younger kids you'd have to accompany as play area cant be seen from the pitches.
Bala village approx. 3 miles away with Co-Op and Spar and other local shops. We visited Plas Coch pub (bright red building) for tea twice, can recommend good value pub grub, and good portion sizes.
White Water raft centre is about 6 miles away for the more adventurous. Bala Lake railway is about £12 for adult and child return and takes about an hour, station at end of Bala village.
Bala is about an 45 mins from Llangollen and an hour from Criccieth the nearby largest towns.
Others campers had walked up local hills and said it was good.
Was our second visit this time, and will definitely be back.

We stayed over the August bank holiday, for four nights. 2 adults, 2 children aged 7 and 5.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the camp was very well, organised, and while it wasn't busy when we arrived, it was full by the Friday night. Although full, it did not feel crowded, and it was very quiet at night once it got dark (though I don't know if that would be the case in a tent?)
The shop was well stocked with everything you may need for a weekend, and Bala town has a coop and a spa, and plenty of places to eat. I think there was a takeaway that would deliver to the site too.
The lake access was terrific, and very safe for children to play, and we took our inflatable boat out several times, it was very relaxing. The playground is near to the entrance for the site, quite a way from where we were pitched, so we didn't really use it, but the children were happy playing with others that we had met.
The toilet blocks were very clean with free hot showers. I will definitely recommend this site, we are already planning when we can fit in another visit soon!

We stayed here for six nights, what a beautiful camp site! Put our tent down by the lake, and as the weather was so hot we were able to go in the lake to cool down which was great. Loved watching everybody else on their canoes and boats etc, was a very peaceful and tranquil spot.
The toilet and shower blocks were clean and tidy and there was plenty of hot water for the showers, which were free.
There were lots of good places to eat in Bala, which is only 2 or 3 miles away and lots of local attractions. The staff in the on site shop were very friendly and helpful.
We can't wait to go back in a few weeks with our friends.

Well, I had to check I was leaving a review for the correct campsite after reading the review below.
Its a fair size site, I admit. Although it dose not detract from it been quite well run. The shower / toilet block is clean and tidy, the bins are always emptied. The grass cut neatly etc. It has great access to the lake and all considered (with this been our 3rd visit) Its a good site with decent value for money and as far as 'Unfriendly personnel' goes, I wonder this time if they have got the correct site!.
Oh well you can not please everyone all of the time, but we were very pleased and would recommend the site.

What an awful site! We had booked for 3 nights, so had to pay instantly upon arrival for the three nights. Very expensive, no value for money whatsoever! Unfriendly personnel. Massive and unpersonal site. Location very noisy, directly on the side of the road. Lots of permanent staying guests. Toilet blocks are moderate and kept clean in a very poor way. We will certainly not recommend this site to anybody!

Great site, one of our favourites, having stayed 6 or 7 times int the last 3 years. As others have said, great access onto the water and the shallow shelved bay is great for kids to play in. Facilities are good and there is a nice wide path/cycle way to Bala from right outside the site. Can get noisy at night during holidays if you are in a tent, and some pitches near the water get very wet, but there has been new drainage installed this year so may prove better. We will definitely be going back again. And again!
