Lovely location with views of the lake at one end of the site with access to the lake for sports and swimmers.

A bus stop outside the site will take you to Bala and beyond or Dolgellau in the other direction.

The facilities, spread over 3 blocks are excellent and kept spotlessly clean.

It's just a pity they are on one side of the site making it a long walk for some as it's a very big site with a vast mix of grass and hardstanding pitches.

A little shop providing basics is open for short spells during the day.

Well planned out site with each pitch being given a generous space. Grass was well cut and the site was pristine clean.

Shower facilities and toilets were immaculately clean. Superb hot showers.

Simple rule guidelines for noise, music etc

Friendly and helpful Staff both on site and when contacting by phone. Kindly swapped a night for me as I couldn't stay on the pre-planned Saturday night but managed to arrive a day earlier.

Will revisit this site as its the peaceful and the perfect location on the lakeshore having direct access for swimming, paddle boarding, canoeing etc.

Quiet site but very busy at the weekends

If you had a hard stand you get more room overall

Campsite very good

Views of the lake and mountains

Shop could have been open longer in quiet times

Large mainly flat area, some hard standing. Access to lake. Many using paddle boards or canoes.

Small shop for essentials. Narrow gauge railway nearby was fun.

Bala nearest town for shopping. Not cheap but co-op and spar have most covered.

Don't get injured. Nearest hospital a long drive away.

Peaceful place.

This campsite is great, we stayed in a roof tent on the bank of the river, overlooking such a beautiful spot.

Toilet and shower blocks were spotless.

We will definitely be back.

Beautiful site with immediate lakeside access.

Immaculate shower, toilet and washing/laundry facilities.

Great little shop at reception offering everything you need.

Peaceful site which is perfect for travellers wanting to kayak, paddleboard or just splash about in the lake.

Bala only an 8 minute drive and loads of reasonably priced places to shop and eat.

We thoroughly recommend this site and will hopefully be visiting again soon

Now COVID restrictions are lifted, we could book for this year and after a 6hr road trip we were meet with a warm welcome, a bin bag for recycling and we were given a choice of at least 5 pitches the wife picked one nearest to the toilets.

The site was looking quite and everyone seemed well spread out, by early evening the fire pits where a light. You could hire them

The toilet blocks where spotless ever time, the men's shower block was in the middle of the three buildings. The on-site shop seemed small and was waiting on milk to be delivered when we went to get some.

Whilst fishing on site in the river is free, tents and other campers could pitch next to the river, so fishing the river may be a bit tricky when some one has pitched on the best looking swim, that said the lake is four miles long giving room to fish, canoe, sail and swim, you can walk out from the beach a fair way before it drops off, the same for parts of the river. Every one on site seemed friendly and most of the dogs where well behaved.

When the temperature got to much the lake was the best place to be. The site got busy over the weekend.

The town Bale has a range of shops, gifts for the office, wetsuits, new fishing rid cos you didn't pack one. A spar, co-op to top up on food and a butcher's at the top by the big car park along with pubs and cafes.

You are inland a bit so travelling will clock up some miles. We went to portmeirion (the prisoner ) porthmadog, (Tesco) and Ffestniog Highland Railway, Blue planet aquarium Ellesmere port, a long with a trip to Bangor and Caernarfon castle. For walkers there is a path along the lake shore or train on the other side.

This our 3rd time to Bala and it's not going to be the last. Other sites are in the area but this is by far the best.
