Spent 3 nights here in our trailer tent with EHU with friends who were in a tent. We managed to get a late departure and didn't have to leave the site until 4 oclock, which was great as we had brilliant weather. We stayed end of July beginning of August.

Good size pitches we had our own water tap on the pitch which was great. Excellent spotless toilet/shower block. Three large shower/toilet/wash basin cubicles as well as other single shower cubicles. No queuing at any time.

Two freezers in a large washing up/information room with lots of leaflets. Four small fishing lakes with loads of small roach, perch and the odd bream, a few carp, we only saw two just into double figures come out all weekend.

Pub was few hundred yards away in the marina, food was ok and had two meals for eleven pounds offer on, cheap enough.

Papers can be ordered from reception

Friendly welcome nice peaceful site. Huge garden centre opposite the site well worth a visit.

Would recommend and will return.

My husband and I and elderly dog have just spent five nights at Wyton Lakes and had a wonderful time. As other reviewers have said the site itself is absolutely beautiful with not only the fishing lakes but a private stretch alongside the River Ouse. The site is well maintained and the toilets clean and smelling beautiful. If any slight critism - and it is slight - the showers were a tad on the hot side for us but then again the weather was pretty hot too. The good side to the showers is that they are intermittent so gives you time to 'soap up' without water washing you down straight away. Husband says the washing up facilities were great!

We had a pitch right next to one of the lakes and it was a pleasure to wake up to the birds singing and then with our early morning cuppa watching the ducks and other birds. We originally chose the site because it was 'adults only' and it really proved to be a haven of peace and quiet. The garden centre opposite is well worth a visit - the variety of shops and goods is remarkable and we were able to buy a shrub we had been looking for at home but not able to get - so we have a lasting memory of Wyton Lakes in our own garden.

Finally, what to say about the surrounding villages and area - just breathtaking again so peaceful and beautiful. We cant wait to come back again. Many thanks to Sheila and John on reception - they were very helpful to us when we arrived and helped us put the caravan into position. Gill and David Richardson

Even though I wasn't sure about returning to this park I decided to give it one more try as my wife loves the area. Unfortunately the fishing is as bad as before if not worse, the only good point this time is the additional showers and even these were closed off over the weekend we were there. The very helpful Wardens are still there and they do there best to provide the answers to any question we might have. They recommended the Carvery Dinner at the Garden Centre and for £5. 99 this is excellent. Would I go back again - only when the owners have re-stocked the lakes.

Although not a fisherman have to agree with all complimentary remarks about this site, would even go as far as to say its one of the best sites I've been on in terms of peacefulness, scenery and clean toilets/showers.

Had a nice pitch right by the lake and it was a pleasure to just sit there, plenty of birdlife about in the form of Reed warbler, Green woodpecker, Common tern etc.

The pub down the road still does two meals for a tenner as well as a couple of real ales to wash it down with. There is a frequent bus service(55) to either Huntingdon or St Ives and even goes as far as Cambridge, bus stop by Hartford Mill.

Paid £16/night for two with ehu and own water point.

We have just returned from a weekend stay at Wyton Lakes.

The wardens were very friendly and helpful with information about the site and the local area (giving us directions to the nearest fishing tackle shop which were spot on).

The site was very quiet and peaceful, even though the majority of pitches were taken. The toilet block was alway clean, and there was never a queue for the showers or toilets. The dishwash room was spacious with 4 sinks, and another sink just for handwashing of clothes. There were also 2 freezers for ice blocks.

The fishing on the lakes was very good (or so I'm told by the other half!) with several big fish being caught over the weekend.

The marina is a couple of minutes walk from the site, with a good pub offering 2 for £10 meals which were very good quality. The garden centre over the road is also worth a visit, it offers much more than just plants with pets, clothing, homewares, crafts and a good size 'food court'.

The site is also a 5 min drive to a 24hr Tesco and Cineworld cinema.

Every other guest I spoke to had been to the site many times before and I can see why - we will definitely be returning in the future.

After a 3 year absence from this site we came back to a vastly different site.

What an improvement all credit to Louise and Pete

The toilet shower and dishwashing have been improved, the lakes altered for the better.

The only gripe was that the showers were chained off presumabably to save cleaning this made it a little difficult to have a shower at peak times.

I would recommend this site to anybody especially fishermen.

We have tried several sites in this area but this is one of the best.

The area is really beautiful with Houghton Mill nearby this is a must see for visitors as is the Axe And Compass in nearby Hemingfords Abbott

Just back today 3rd June, from a Monday - Friday break in half term, adults only so very quiet, especially in the mornings which was lovely.

3 Large fishing lakes with the pitches set around them and the River at the far end of the site, no pitches near the river though.

Shower/toilet block clean and tidy and never had to wait, only moan would be the shower heads sent the water everywhere other than the body parts!

Hartford marina just a short stroll up the road, left out of the site, had a good chain pub that did 2 meals for £10 and had a lovely outlook across the water.

We cycled into Wyton/Houghton village a few times, less than 10 mins and had a drink at both pubs 'The 3 jolly Buthchers' has a garden so long it reaches the river and 'The 3 Horseshoes' which if you sit out front has lovely late sunshine and you can watch out over the square, Houghton Mill is just around the corner also the Lock is here, if you cross the lock and take the long path across the fields you come to Hemmingford Abbots where the 'Axe and compass' pub is. If you take the Thicket rd at the right side of The 3 Horseshoes this will lead you to a lovely 2mile walk/cycle into St Ives.

The site is on a very fast busy road but worth crossing to get to the large garden centre store that has just about everything there from food to clothes and camping gear, really much more than just plants and well worth a browse.

The site didn't seem even half full and most of the people were there for the fishing, we had a good quiet time in school holidays and the weather was great.

We stayed at Wyton Lakes on the'Royal Wedding' weekend and had a fabulous time! This is an adults only site and it is recommended for a quiet weekend getaway! As previously mentioned it was Wills and Kate's big day and the site was decorated in it's fair share of bunting and Union Jacks which was lovely to see!

Check in is very easy with the lady warden cycling along in front of you to guide you to your pitch,a very personalised service! This was actually our second visit to Wyton Lakes so we knew what to expect.

Our pitch was right next to one of the fishing lakes (even though we don't fish) so it was a lovely view! We had our 2 Jack russells with us and there is a lovely dog walk along the river with benches alongside to stop and rest and watch the boat's from the Hartington Marina (next door) pass by.

The facilities on site are very clean with a wash up area and a freezer for ice packs (or ice cubes for those g and t's!) free to use which is handy if you were tenting. There is also basic camping item's available at reception such as rock pegs (the hard standings are VERY hard!)

Just opposite there is the Huntingdon Garden Centre (with a Starbucks!) to wander around on a Sunday morning this has a bit of a farm shop type area with lot's of nice foodie items.

On the Monday we found out there was a Bank Holiday Market in St Ives (about 5 miles away) apparently it is held every Bank Holiday-and is definitely worth a visit!

All in all we would recommend Wyton Lakes to anyone who wanted a getaway from it all weekend break! Just do it!

A pleasant adults only site in a great location, toilet and shower blocks were always clean and tidy and warm,

The three fishing lakes looked good but only one seemed to be producing fish while we were there, the strip of river front also looked quite good.

This is a dog friendly site with a good dog walk around the campsite,

Friendly owners and staff,

There is a very large garden centre just opposite the entrance and a Brewers Fayre within walking distance at the marina.

We have stayed at Wyton Lakes at least 6 times since starting our camping life with a tent then a caravan now were waiting for the new season to begin so we can stay in our motor home. We've always enjoyed this site its friendly, clean, and pleasantly situated on the banks of the River Ouse. The facilities are always kept clean and heated and although we do not fish its lovely to sit and relax around the lakes and watch the world go by.
