We visited Wyton Lakes on August bank holiday weekend, first impressions were pretty good, the staff were friendly and the amenities were clean and the place to freeze ice blocks in the wash up area was very handy, also when the toilets were closed for cleaning they had one open unlike some we have visited (although can get queues at times).
The 'riverside walk' was a tad disappointing though as this is highlighted as something better, which in fact if you blink you miss it, however, what little that was there was nice.
The Marina next door served nice meals and were good value too, where a steak meal was only about £6 and cooked to perfection, though cheap food was made up by the drink prices, we'll learn next time and share a nice chardonnay before we go ;)
All in all a great weekend despite the weather being rather windy but that's camping for you.

I have to confess to this being a favourite site of mine and we have visited on more than one occasion. This is maybe something to do with the fact that it is adults only. Now I have no problem with children, but as Mrs Tatty is a member of the teaching profession, she is very pleased to be as far away from them as possible during leisure time.
The park is located directly opposite the Huntingdon Garden Centre and initial impressions are very favourable, with the neatness and tidiness of the surroundings. As the name suggests, the pitches are surrounded by lakes which is ideal for the anglers among us. In fact many of the pitches actually back onto the water, which gives the opportunity to fish right next to your unit should you so desire. The river Great Ouse backs onto the site giving an alternative form of fishing if required.
The only downside to the site (in my humble opinion) is the lack of grass pitches with the majority being hard standing. This may be a distinct bonus to many people, but our preference is for grass (much enjoyed by the Tatty hound I must add). There is a separate area for campers (tents etc), which again backs straight on to one of the lakes.
The toilet and shower block cannot be faulted in any way and everything on the site is compact and easy to find.
A well run, very friendly site and highly recommended for a visit.

The site is clean and tidy and you don't feel crowded in, some have a lake side option so that you can fish right by your pitch.I was surprised at the number of people staying that were not fishing, the weekend was busy with a number of tents in groups.
The fishing is hard, in 3 days I only had 1 fish, albeit a PB for me. Whilst I don't want to be pulling fish out every couple of minutes it could do with some re-stocking and then it would be a superb venue.
Showers clean and tidy, owners very pleasant. Being adult only was a big bonus for us as we visited another site nearby and that was just chaotic.
I would certainly return again, but this time take more bait.

I must disagree with the review from LTYLER. My brother-in-law and I were almost put off after reading this review but in the end decided to try it. We both caught fish every day. My best carp was 15lbs while Mark landed a georgeous 14lbs 4oz Ghost Carp. We booked from Saturday to Tuesday but because the fishing was so good we stayed until Thursday. I caught my best Bream 5lb4oz and best Tench at 4lb. Between us we landed over 30 fish but we only managed to land about 1 in 3 of the carp we hooked so the lakes are certainly not understocked. Neither of us could be described as highly skilled anglers, or experienced caravanners, but we do think about what is happening and adapt to the conditions. This approach certainly paid dividends at Wyton Lakes.
The general site facilities are very clean, in good repair and in the process of being extended. The conditions around the park are excellent in all aspects. We found the wardens very good and their advice helped us greatly to have an excellent fishing and camping experience.

This was our second visit to this adults only site Wyton Lakes, the first being a year earlier we were made very welcome upon our arrival (which is always a good start) by the acting management couple, as the owners were away.
I have to say that our initial impression of the site was that it was visibly neater than our previous visit, all verges were neatly cut and no litter of any type, which also gives a plus point for the many fisherfolk who make up a large part of the clientèle. The fresh look also applies to the toilet and shower facilities which were spotlessly clean smelt fresh and were toastie warm and hot water at all times.
As mentioned earlier because (I presume) of the number of deep pits on the site, it's adults only which makes this a very peaceful site, just make sure you don't forget half your fishing tackle but if like me you do however 'Petzone' in St Ives has a stock of tackle and bait and I believe there is a large tackle shop in Godmanchester.
There is a charming pub in in Houghton a short but dangerous cycle ride away with a post office and general store opposite.
Wyton lakes will suite most people who like to be close to nature and do not need a disco on site with the River Ouse bordering the site you cannot help but relax, its cheaper than the CC site in Houghton and IMHO a much nicer layout and yes I am a CC member.

This is our 5th visit to this site, we thoroughly enjoy each stay here, it is extremely peaceful and very relaxing.
Site facilities are spotless, shower and toilet facilities are the cleanest we have experienced. Owners are always helpful and accommodating.
My partner is a keen fisherman, and finds fishing these waters very good. Especially this week has caught on average 6 carp per day all in double figures. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Our 4th visit, Although a pleasant site with excellent facilities. The fishing is now really difficult no matter how good an angler you are but on a positive note it is cheap. Tents seem to go up randomly without any planning or direction from the owners. They also dominate a complete side of the large carp lake. The Hartford marina does some nice food, also you can have a Chinese takeaway delivered to site.

This was our third visit to this site as my husband is a keen fisherman and we like the Adults Only side of things. For a non fishing person the site is very good with great a bus service to either St Ives or Huntingdon.
The site is always very tidy and the Warden couple who now seem to work almost full time are some of the friendliest people we have met in several years of caravanning.
The only downside to this park is the fishing which seems to be getting worse each time we go. In the 7 days we were there my husband, a fishing man of 30 years plus experience, caught just 2 fish and many others caught none at all. The lakes are in desperate need of re-stocking but unfortunately the owners do not seem interested.
This is a great shame because all in al this is a very nice site and we will return even if its only for the weekend.

We arrived at Wyton Lakes and were met by a really nice lady and given an ideal pitch right near the lake. Also a position which made it easy to walk our dog! The river was right by us too. If you want to just get away without the children this is the place and a fishermans paradise! It was all clean and tidy and fairly new facilities. Over the road is a huge garden centre! I walked over there and was amazed at its size and facilities. There was a restaurant which is handy for us campers, although this time we didn't eat in there. Just down the road I noticed a supermarket. And next door is a Marina. We had a quiet and very pleasant weekend. We will definitely go back!

This was our 1st visit to this site and we were only there for 1 night,(it was nice to find a site that would take one night bookings at a weekend) on the way to Norfolk!
It was a nice site - especially as it was 'Adults Only'.
The facilities were very clean too! There is a nice garden centre opposite the main entrance, but you do have be careful crossing the busy main road.
We didn't find any problems with road noise however.
The one thing I would say is that double check your pitch number - we got a bit confused with it all - but it could have just been us not looking properly.
All in all, we would definitely go back again and explore the surrounding area.
